I love rituals! I wonder what kind of stuff you will find in their advent calendar

they are awesome and there are 2! I got the village one, lights are gone (darn cats). They hold items from their line, small and big. And 4 advent candles for the Sunday.

- we got somelayered cheese fries for an appetizer. they were like french fries are supposed to be, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. they have inspired my hubby to try to make them himself. not sure how he's going to do it but it should be fun to watch.

- i hear you about black friday. when it comes around i huddle in my bunker and pretend the outside world doesn't exist. if i buy anything it's online. what is sinterklaus? is that Santa on your side of the pond?

lone - i would gladly try one of the online recipes except i've been permanently barred from the kitchen. i'm not allowed to cook anything except microwave a bag of popcorn. my family has told me they don't want the house to burn down because i tried to cook. rofl they have a point, the blind really shouldn't cook. i knew they'd made a movie from anna karenina but haven't seen it. wasn't too excited because i only liked half the story.

- i haven't bought a single thing yet. i looked yesterday and saw nothing i wanted was on sale except some of the potions. i'll probably get them tomorrow but nothing else. i saved a bunch of csc for this and feel let down. i'm sure there's something i can spend it on , i've just not found it yet.

the only thing i bought for black friday is here and i bought the Zoe mist set from the boutique. Not buying anything else... i think... i hope.. no more csc so...

Sinterklaas is not our Santa we have Santa to. (correct me is i am wrong) Sinterklaas comes on his boat to the Netherlands and Belgium from Spain. He comes with his horse Ozosnel and his helpers Pieten with gifts and Pepernoten somewhere half november and he stays for 3 weeks. He gives out gifts during his stay and sweets. He delivers gifts on his horse via rooftops trough the chimneys with help of his Pieten. On his birthday NL december 5th, and Belgium december 6th we celebrate and give more gifts and then he goes home.

[edit] Not so good news, my dad has been taking to the hospital. blood pressure & pulse frequency where to high and they are thinking it's something in his head (again). 3 years ago he had a CVA and was still recovering. I can't go to the hospital to be with him and my mom due to covid restrictions. Had had tests , blood work and a scan we are now waithing for more info from a doctor.

- i'm so sorry to hear that about your dad. i wish you both strength to help you both through the times ahead.this is when the covid restrictions really suck. i hope everything is ok.

sounds like you guys have a 2nd santa that sticks around for longer and gives out more gifts. the kids over here would love that. :)

i think i'd be more interested in the boutique stuff if i could see it. i could also buy some books, plushies, and beanbags to top off my collections but i know i'll never get everything in those collections due to the time i missed and stuff being retired or just being made unbuyable due to scarcity. sometimes it all seems so pointless. pay to win but ha ha you'll never complete the collection because that one thing is out of reach.

i think the shiny has come off my new toy.

Hi all! Hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving had a lovely day. All my family was here this year, even my daughter and her family flew in. My uncles also came. Had a very nice time seeing everyone and the food was delicious.

Me and Brian don't go anywhere on Black Friday. The deals aren't that great and the crowds are so bad that we make sure we don't need to get anything until Saturday.

My dad is home, thankfully. They could not find what was wrong but they gave him meds for his blood pressure, needs to take it slow and contact our own doctor on monday.

- i think if one needs to go out on black friday they should go equipped with a tank for parking, a a bazooka for distance, and a flame thrower for melee. it's the only way they'd have a fighting chance.

- i'm glad your dad is ok. hopefully your doctor can figure out what's going on.

It's definitely been a nice long weekend. Had Thanksgiving with my dad and then with my extended family. Now I'm just gonna chill...maybe try to get a little Christmas shopping done. I haven't even started that.

Brian has a hilarious tale about Black Friday. Basically when he was laid off (long long story), he decided to go to Best Buy not realizing how crowded stores got on Black Friday.

You started it now I want to read it. lol

Brian used to be an auto mechanic and the place he was working for suddenly closed one day. The people in charge were crooks and didn't actually pay any health insurance while claiming they did. Which left him losing a whole lot of money in the long run. That part is the really long part.

So Brian decided he wanted to buy a video game (I think one of the Hitman games). So he walked into a Best Buy totally clueless of what Black Friday actually was. He might have actually called his brother at one point. After some confusion on his part, he decides instead of trying to make his way through the store he would order via his phone so he could just pick up the game at the store. Which meant everything went a lot quicker.

After that day he never went shopping on Black Friday XD

- oh, your poor hubby. sorry he was scarred for life. it is interesting , though, to hear of someone who was completely naieve of black friday now-a-days.

- if i do any shopping anymore, it's online. groceries, clothes, video games for the guys - it's all online. i even go to the doctor online. wifi is so convenient.

- i think i've got all of this year's fireside things i'm going to get easily. i'll have to pay for the few remaining things but i expected that. still need a lot of the older stuff but i'll get it eventually. can't believe it'll be december in a few days. does the merry melody still start up on december 1?

Poor Brian! That was smart tho, seeing the chaos then just ordering it on his phone, grabbing it and going home.

I love Amazon. I order stuff from there mostly. Still go to the grocery store sometimes, tho my best friend and roommate Rox usually does all the grocery and Wal-Mart shopping.

I avoid Black Friday as well. Putting words together is taking way too much concentration right now. It seems that is how my disability is manifesting right now. We are pet sitting for dmy while she takes her fam to visit her grand baby in Iowa. They are almost back. I think I am going to go lay down now.
