- i've only seen up to the middle of the 12th doctor's run. in fact the last episode i saw was the one where clara bit it. sorry, but i was so happy to see her go. nothing specific, she just bugged me. i haven't seen/heard any of the latest incarnation.i just never watched it because i couldn't wrap my head around a female doctor. yet, when i found out who mistress was i about died it was such a lovely twist. anyways, i read the summary of the disputed episode and if the old producers come back i can see it being retconned very quickly. it rewrites not only time lord history but the canon established by previous series. i can understand why the new producers would do this, they want to leave their mark. i think they misread the fan base, though.(don't know if anyone's been picked for the 14th doctor but my vote goes to idris elba.)

- i understand about the short stories. i had thought i started the next book and was surprised when a whole new story started up at waht i thought was the end of a chapter. hubby's fault. he orders what he sees on audibles by author and publication date. he doesn't look at the summaries so i end up with books like shadowed souls. you publish on amazon? i know you're nervous about it all going back in review but just think of this: you have work published. that's a whole heck of a lot more than the likes of me has accomplished. you should feel awesome that you've attained something that a lot of us have tried for but just not gotten for whatever reason. :)

I'm starting to publish on Amazon. As this was my second book published there, I took things a little more slowly by not cramming making the covers, formatting, and uploading all in the same night.

I think the covers for the book are a lot better than the first because I wasn't so rushed.

And, yeah, it's a big step just to get a book out :)

yep we are in semi lockdown starting tonight at 6pm. Wearing masks everywhere, shops must close at 6pm, supermarkt and restaurants at 8pm, work at home unless you can't, keep distance, etc. So yay... not....

- we authors need to stick together ;) i never learned how to format a book for an e-reader or how to make the covers. i can see why you want to do it yourself as you can control how it looks. is it difficult to publish through amazon? i only learned how to do it through a big publisher like random house.

- sorry you're in lock down again. i hope it doesn't last too long. sometimes i think we need to go back on lock down but it seems everyone has their head in the sand , unwilling to admit things aren't going so well, pandemic wise. although, i think our hospitalizations are down. :) hang in there.

Amazon provides a program to format your book. So as long as you're publishing only on Amazon, formatting is pretty easy.

I use the paid version of the online program BeFunky. I would hire a professional but...that would cost more money than I would most likely earn by book sales. If I ever strike metaphorical oil I will hire professionals as I prefer hand drawn covers.

And I do really like the control I have by self-publishing.

I am so happy and proud of you. Two published books is a huge accomplishment. Yes Amazon is right to review the books the put on there especially after the huge mistake publishing something I can't even... Publicly got reamed for it.

I love Doctor Who. I didn't mind the Jodie seasons writing. I went back and watched the older series too. Watched all the doctors.

I'll probably start watching Dr. Whp again once the new doctor is announced, and I'll probably pick it up where I stopped watching Jodie. I'm still hoping the new Doctor will be Richard Ayoade. I think he would be really giving the Doctor his own unique spin.

Yep, new lockdown it is. I had so much stuff to look forward too that now has all been cancelled or postponed. At least my choir can still rehearse and the schools are open. So it's not so bad this time hopefully.

- yes, there is a lot of drama etc. around the publishing business but i tune it all out. if a book is good, it's good regardless of all the poo that may be floating around it. i tried to google what you did but came up with confusing results.

- i know the virus isn't going anywhere and the best things we can do are to vaccinate, mask up, and social distance. unfortunately misinformation and paranoia is running rampant over here and causing enough problems that i can't even get all my kids here for the holidays. they're all afraid to travel. so, it looks like it's going to be just me, hubby and our youngest this year. it just won't be the same.

Well sometimes they're pretty big things like one woman trying to gain ownership over an entire genre (Omegaverse aka ABO). And since it's called Omegaverse it can be confusing to some as it doesn't sound like a genre unless you're somewhat familiar with it. Plus its origins were in Supernatural fanfiction which just makes it even more confusing.

I hope that christmas will be a bit more normal. Last year we didn't celebrate with the whole family, and I haven't seen one of my brothers for almost two years. His wife has been very paranoid about contracting covid so they didn't leave the house for a very long time and they didn't want to celebrate christmas or birthdays with anyone either. I'm hoping to finally see them again in a few weeks.

from what I've heard they're first doing another short season of 6 episodes with Jodie. It will end with the doctor regenerating and then they will take a break again and start the next season with the new doctor. I believe many fans are rooting for Richard Ayoade to be the next doctor, but it was the same last season, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Love it, totally understand both parts. I'm just struggling like crazy for my pets and stories. It couldn't hurt to ask I say.

same here with the misinformation and paranoia, not helping at all. I did not work with christmas last year and was home alone, no fun at all. This year i am working with christmas but other then that will be alone again this year if it all goes trough. And the family always comes together with new years but last year we where all home. Probally will again this year. Darn virus

has anyone seen the wheel of time series adadaption on amazon yet? i'm scared to watch it as i love the books so much. i'm terrified they eviserated it.

My mom wants me to visit her around Christmas but me and Brian aren't too happy at her this year. She made my trip to Puerto Rico hell for me and was willing to abandon me at the Miami Airport.

So for some family members any excuse to not visit is a good one.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm listening to New Spring at the moment, and I don't want to spoil it by watching the series. Last year I tried to read it but I got stuck on one of the Lan chapters and didn't continue, but now I'm half way through the book. From what I've heard it's actually the prequel to the series, so I'm curious to read what will happen in the actual series.
