Oooh a murder mystery. I didn't see any mistakes in the text. I think the legacy name could be nudged up a bit so it isn't running into the species/color info. Otherwise, everything looks good!

Hi :) this is only my 3rd pet, and the first one I've been inspired to write a story on. As such, it's the first one I've thought might be ok to go for spotlight, but I would love some feedback on it.

I really love the story, it resonates with me.

I think having pet friends would help, or take out the section as it looks unfinished with it there with it being empty. The TC items are the same, a large section with a few items. Nothing wrong with that, but the empty space just gives an air of unfinished.

Cute story! I noticed a couple grammatical things that might be helpful:

• In this sentence, there were a couple missing capital letters and punctuation, which I've bolded.

• Another grammatical note is that, when using quotation marks, if you continue the sentence with a speaking tag, you'd end the quote with a comma, not a period, and the next word would be lower-case. Like this: "Enter, leave shoes by the door," he instructed. A couple more examples: "Hey, wait a minute!" she said. "What a disaster," he muttered.

If the sentence doesn't continue with a speaking tag, and the quote is meant to end the sentence, then you can capitalize the next word after the quotation, like this: She frowned and muttered, "I guess I am a little grumpy." She crossed her arms and pouted.

I hope that helps--quotation grammar rules are really weird and tough to get the hang of, and took me ages. They're difficult to explain as well.
