as time goes on I think more god weapons will show up in the antique shop. certain ones do need buffed to match the theme of god weapons though. why do some have very nice blessings that block a bunch when bstaff gets an average curse and is easily replaced by cronus? (I am biased, but really when this weapon comes back, no one will buy it because of this)
you're right, battlers are probably the only group on the site that will shell out over 500m for one specific item.
They're adding the reading drive stuff soon(tm)
The problem with this is that people with much money are generally fairly savvy. They're not going to buy a 3b investment that they will never profit on because it will always be available for that price. It's fine for that one person that wants that one item and has the funds for it but could never buy it because it simply wasn't being put on the market, and it suits it's job for that. But all the antique shop is is a limitless supply made to be a price ceiling.
i agree theyll all likely show up on the antique shop. But will they be bought? i feel like they're just gonna sit there. the O-Staff might sell a few, since it's one of the best due to the blessing.
And yeah, the cronus is easily the best out there. In a long battle, the boost means you are fighting with a 40k stat pet instead of a 35k pet if you use a non-boost weapon. IMO, we need newer kinds of weapons. Not necessarily more of the same weapons that follow the godly template. Instead of a 100 block you have, 3x 30 blocks that only high def pets find useful. Or like a weapon that does 15 icons across the board that high str pets only find useful. idk
And an even bigger problem, these weapons only appeal to 1. battlers, 2. strong battlers, 3. rich strong battlers. it's a very small percentage of subeta. We need some things that appeal to a wider group of subeta along with just the expensive weapons. I guess reading drive is better than just weapons, there's a lot of books and stuff, and prices won't be nearly as high according to a post I read because prizes are grouped closer together pointwise than the pirate/islander plot prizes.
Ostaff may sell, WotP may sell because it's similar, depending if we get a strong ice challenger. Agreed though, I was thinking of what a t13 weapon might look like. a moderate blocking 3 icon spread is something I thought of too. Maybe 60/30/30 or something, since it is t13. I don't really like the build specific weapons, already going def > str for skull staff. Slowly releasing weapons that fit certain builds after we're already built a certain way isn't the way to go, if they were all released ahead of time, we could plan what direction we will take. idk. but for future releases of things that cost 3b+, they should be better than their free or cheaper alternatives.
Aside from scrolls / weapons, are there things that actually sell for 500M+?
The secondskin used to, but with how the wardrobe works, it lost a lot of versatility.
That would be an interesting survey to do
"If you had 250M to spend, what would you like to spend it on
1 - Wearables items (that can be resold) 2 - Bases and hairstyles (that cannot be resold) 3 - Weapons 4 - Official Collectibles (Stickers/Plushies/Beanbags) 5 - Other Collectibles (Food/Books) 6 - Pet related things (new species, colors, slots) 7 - ???
I would love to see that survey. I would love to see more surveys in general from staff. Phrase it as "if you had 250M and were forced to spend it on something" because some people would save that sP if they were given the option.
And why do we not have a solid cap on sP? I think once someone nears that cap, they'd be forced to spend their money. at least this will hault things somewhat.
uhhh things that sell for 500m are all weapons, I don't know if any scrolls are 500m+, there may be one but not many people will pay that because of newer options. There may be some books that go for that, but when they're released in the antique shop, they won't any more (I don't know if any exist of the one I'm thinking of)
Dunno, how much is Maelstrom scroll going for? I was mostly thinking of the ones that Kahakalakazam and Jacques on Steroids were dropping in Omen Islands plot, but they may be going for lower than I thought.
WE USED TO HAVE A CAP. Like, a couple billion on hand, and your account was locked.
I don't think we have any books in the 500M range anymore. We used to, but I can't think of any right now. Three-headed Monkey was far in the 1B+ range too, but now, it's in the prize shop, so yeah.
But id like to see the numbers from sp spent in antique shop vs MC (weapons only).
But, IF you pull 5 bil for rich battlers. You pull 5 bil from the economy. The rich battler likely got 95% of that sp from other users, and not from quests. In a sense, the rich user is a "sink" to hundreds of other subeta players.
Rich players that sell csc are the same. they absorb sp from X users. So if you pull Y sp from those rich people, you are pulling Y sp from X users. In this case, the rich are just the middleman.
If you cant convince 100 users to spend 10mil, but can convince 1 rich person to spend 1 bil, why not go ahead and target the 1 rich person. hes gonna get sp from other users, the chain continues.
edit: i really like the art for WoTP. so id consider getting it.
my guess is 2.147b 2^31-1 or so.
that was a physical cap because the datatype that sP was stored in couldn't get any bigger. datatype changed, no feasible physical cap. it was locked because your sP went negative after gaining over that most likely.
I'd think before the antique shop, the saheric plot prize book would go for probably that much or more. I can get the name if you really want me to, I'd just need to look it up real quick. but since we know things are coming to the antique shop, no one is going to shell out that much.
WotP is one of my more favorite items on the site. agreed with you there.
that is true, but why focus on only the richest when you can do that and at the same time, sink sP from the middle too? once you sink that from the richest users, it won't be a very reliable sink. a few will get sold immediately, then there will be one every now and again when someone saves up enough.
there needs to be other things in the mean time for the other users who don't care about battling.
Your guess is right, this was the number! It was also the cap for usershops profits, lmao
that's usually the number because it's how long a 32 bit signed integer can be :P
I think a cap would prevent hoarding to some extent, force the person hoarding their sP to get some interests and turn that sP into high end items from the antique shop to sell eventually when they need that sP again or something along those lines.
i guess i didnt word it well. But i didnt mean focus on battling for sinks.
Yes, implement sinks across the board.
From an economical standpoint, it doesnt matter where you pull out the money. The market will regulate. From an efficiency standpoint, you implement newer sinks higher up since cash flows up the pyramid.
I think I just read your post too fast or replied on a slightly different point than I read. sometimes I don't actually reply to what is being said to me, so that might have been my bad.
I agree with you I think though.
If you take out CSC and items that are very rare and not being released anymore, Subeta is mostly in a deflation phase. CSC biases everyone's opinion so much it's funny.
Anything that is restockable, especially rare items, is cheaper now. Boosters to train your pet are cheaper. Potions and Elixirs are either cheaper or price regulated by the token shop like they always have been. Subeautique is cheaper. What else is there that people buy ?
Inflation is not the terrible phenomenon you think it is. In the real word, the opposite is what economists are scared about. Inflation happens in any healthy economy and if it's reasonable, it is often associated with growth. So what, CSC costs more now than before ? A few years ago, a billion sP was money you'd think no one would ever have, now there's a couple hundred billionaires. The economy is growing.
Subeta's issues are the same as real world issues (drop the this is pixels economy doesnt matter bs), the gap between the very rich and the "poor", or average users, is getting bigger faster everyday. So if you're on the bottom end, you feel like you're poor and Subeta needs sP sinks to drain sP because everything cool is expensive, as the rich users also want these cool things you're after. The rich put together are so rich that they make the price of commodities like CSC & co naturally raise overtime.

idk about potions, Cream is currently 10M, Dawn is 5M, Marsh is around that too, Silver is around 4M, Twilight is currently at 3M. That's fairly high compared to earlier this month.
Reposes, Reborn is at 13.7M, Spectrum is 11.5M. They're still affordable but I wouldn't say cheap.
I think selling custom forum titles would probably work better than custom user icons, since we use the icons to determine things like mods and staff, and I know I would be way more excited to be able to write my own title than be orange. I don't even like orange.
Or we could do both, I guess.
The thing is - the people with 3 billion sP aren't going to spend it on an item. Someone who has collected that much hasn't done so because they like to have sP, they've done it because they don't like to spend sP. We've noticed this with any sink we've added aimed at the people with billions of sP - they typically don't bother.
Things that would help inflation but would make users really mad. A. Taking a % tax from each user shop purchase (something low, 1-5%) B. Remove interest from bank accounts. This was one of those 'copied from neopets' features that really just results in people with billions of sP getting extra sP every day. Millions of sP are created here daily.
