I bet a lot of people would; I think they'd sell quite a few of them. I just don't know how much they should cost :/
you're very right about that, most things deflate until they're crap, and small amounts of inflation a real economy are signs of a healthy economy. potions are actually inflated right now.
only problem I see with that is what if someone makes a title that is the same as a current one / one in the future is made to match someone's current title. other than that, it sounds fun.
maybe we can sell the blank space in the box around our HA (you know the same box with the pet leash in it) and you can design that with something cool? upload a background image in there or something.
I don't have quite that much, but if I did (working on it), there are a handful of items I would be/am saving for. I know, specific example doesn't disprove the general case. But I am the only person I can speak for.
Flight Rising does it, with the same rates, and since it was established from the start, people are alright with it. I'd personally be alright with that and it's something I actually wouldn't mind being established. Yeah, people are gonna be really mad, but in a couple years from now, it's going to be a nonproblem.
Is interest as problematic as when the maximum was 8%? I suppose it is, right?
I'd pay a lot for one, seriously. :D
Hm, yeah, that is true. Didn't think of that as a possibility.
That's also an idea I like, as long as you can't put like, horrible flashing .gifs there or something.
yeah there would be rules to doing that I'd assume, similar to custom overlays where it would have to be approved, but I just noticed (after reading your post) it's a blank box. it could be customized.
I wouldn't be opposed to either a sales tax or the removal of interest. And I'm one of those people that likes to have large amounts of sp just for the sake of having it. Aside from putting the original Epicon items in the antique shop, I can't think of anything that would be tempting to spend it on.
Oh, and lower the rate of the main shop discount buff? Seriously, I'm not even a restocker, but that buff's like never not active for me.
Yup! It's just a stupid way that millions get into the economy daily, for basically no reason. In real life a bank makes investments with your money, hence the interest, here there is no central bank making investments. Your money isn't being used to fund anything, why are you getting a profit for it?
I actually did that a few days ago ;)

pretty sure Keith mentioned today that it is getting lowered and it was never meant to be a permanent thing
edit: I am slow :(
So would I. I'm just wondering if making it a fairly moderate price (like, still expensive, just not prohibitively so) so people would buy multiple titles would be better than making one really expensive? I guess I'm just not sure how many people would want to buy one as opposed to a bunch to switch around.
As long as there are decent guidelines for the images I think it's a cool idea. Not sure what kind of image I'd want to put there, but it would be a fun way to personalize the forums a bit more.
Potions are a whole different thing. Some of them are Token Shop regulated, meaning that, after every restock, they'll be cheap, and then the price will raise until the next restock. As for the potions that don't restock in the TS because no one wants them, weren't they retired from the Magic Box / Magic Box was done away with ? Items that aren't currently being generated by the site inflate everytime one is destroyed / used and therefore do no reflect the economy well.
and "That's fairly high compared to earlier this month." is a fairly poor frame of reference. the price has either been increasing over the years, or a specific event made the price rise all of a sudden, which again, does not reflect the general state of the economy.
As for high end sP sinks : I doubt that's where the solution is. These can be good overtime if they are made for things like The Ether and Natasha. Both these weapons are "cheap" compared to any other existing solution. They're VERY good for their price, so these sinks work very well.
Then you get "bad" sP sinks, like what they did with the top prizes of the Pirate/Island shop in the Antique shop where they're just priced very high in order to retain value but will never actually act as a long term sP sink. One or two will get bought, maybe, but that's it. The main interest of the godlies was that they were self-regulated, and rare. Now that their price is capped, they obviously lose a lot of appeal, no matter what the cap on the price is.
IMO, daily sinks that people don't necessarily see as such are the way to go. These are by far the hardest to implement, and I don't know if discussing them on a public forum is productive at all. They take a very different look at the bigger picture to be really effective.
There's also the "feature" sinks. Basically, that means that going through those sinks is the only way to use said critical feature. These are killer sinks, that are very under-used by Subeta, because the Cash Shop takes care of most of these critical features. They could maybe sacrifice a couple and eventually replace them with something else. Pet slots, name changes, custom things, some challengers, etc, etc.

Ah, good then. I always kind of wondered what the point even was in having it as a buff since it was nearly always active. If it were me, I'd also shorten it. Six hours is a long time. Unless you already did that too and I'm just not very observant today.
Cream was selling for what, 265K on the 1st of this month? It's in shops for 10M. I wouldn't call it the natural progress of things.
If it was just Cream, I would say it's just some random bullshit, but most colorfills potions have inflated tenfold over the last week.
We did get some SP slots earlier this year, so I'd say this is a good idea. Again, you and I have discussed it, the idea of a pet slot cap is silly. I'm still for the abolition of the pet slot cap ;)
I think there was a challenger added in the MC earlier this year, and I'm really curious why there weren't more.
...but then how am I supposed to make sp on this site? Games that give me 10k and take forever? Nty. :c
Quest sp output has decreased over the past year already anyway, hasn't it?
i like subeta because it's easy to make sp from quests. it's much more fun than restocking or whatever else you'd do to grind for points. and i also LIKE that every item is actually pretty easily obtainable for EVERYONE with a small bit of work. i wouldn't play here otherwise. shrug i prefer a site where we all have close to equal opportunity with a little effort, not a site where only the few dedicated/crazy/obsessed people who "work really hard" and have more free time to play can get what they want. booooo to elitism

I think they have something else planned for pet slots.
But all these useful mini features that people want to be added into Gold Accounts are a good example of something that could be a sP sink instead. Again, the cash shop takes them all though. The only ones that come to mind right now are the TC slots

As I mentioned previously, I think pets would be a significant way to sink some sP.
Maybe instead sell untradable pet changes or upgrades in the Millionaire Center. For example, color a pet (or maybe a new MC exclusive color that others have suggested before), gender changes, and maybe name changes. Some of the items like potions, sex berries, and genderless berries have gone up significantly in price. I think it's a good opportunity to take advantage of this to sink sP, because people are still getting their extra pet slots.
On the other hand, although I appreciate the token shop restock for potions, I think it wasn't the best idea right now. While it did bring some potion prices down a bit, it didn't sink any sP. There wasn't a large surplus of tokens either.
but what if people with a lot of sp just want a lot of sp. they don't spend it much, they just like having a lot of sp in their vault. are they inflating the economy by hoarding sp in their vault?
sP that isn't moving just sits there (collecting interest). I never heard of an inflated economy. Only inflated costs of certain goods and services.
While interest is a contributor in creating sP out of thin air, the vast majority comes from quests. Hence, that's what the OP was concerned about.
What about a structured interest rate? People with fewer sp in their vault at midnight get more interest (say the current 3%) and people over a certain amount of sp in their vault get lower interest rates or no interest if they're above a threshold? That way people on the lower end who could really use the extra sp to start gaining sp can get some, but people who have a lot of sp in their vault get very little or no "free" sp every day. Maybe not necessarily going from something to nothing, but doing 3% for the people with the least sp, 2% and 1% for people with more sp, and no interest for people above the threshold. (Hopefully that make sense!)
That's essentially the same as giving out a fixed amount of interest everyday to everyone. Interest is so slim when you start that it would really be meaningless though.
