Never even noticed the wing flaps....so they wont be missed! But I agree with in saying that the ears are a little off. The back one in particular.

exactly! With the head tilted down and looking eyes looking up, the Manchu is totally mischievous. The new pose looks a bit frightened, especially with all the mega-fluff. Not that mega-fluff can't be cute, but add in the raised head and standing-its-ground pose, and it's a scared monkey, lols

I echo the tail looking a little off. I'm not sure if it's the way it flows or the shading or what?

Regardless, I really love this revamp!

Like I said in the news post, I love this.

My only gripe is to maybe make the eyes a little bit bigger? That way it can still retain the curious look of the original. :)

The eyebrows make it look kind of worried. Also, the tail seems kind of stiff? The tail of the original Manchu looks more flexible than the revamped one.

Other than that, I'm really liking this revamp. :D

though, as others have said, the expression is kind of... not as interesting as the old one? maybe try arching the eyebrows a bit more and making the smile more obvious? i feel like that'd make it look more mischievous. c;

If I were to give criticism, it would be the facial expression. The old one looked curious, maybe a bit of tease too. The new one looked a little..confused or unsure of itself. I think giving it a hint of curiosity in its face would do the trick!

Some people have suggested tilting its head a little more. I think it'll look great either way!

I agree. Also the expression makes the revamp seem more timid, perhaps even a bit worried. In my eyes it loses the mischievousness and happiness of the old version. Other that that, I really like the revamp.

(Jeez, I hadn't even noticed the wing flaps until just now, and I've only been on Subeta for 9+ years... Wonder what else I'm not seeing :D)

I really love the new design, few things:

1. the face - the art of the face seems a little bit outdated (?) I don't know how to explain it, but the art looks different from the rest of the body.. (my knowledge in art is very low, so it's difficult for me to explain), kinda like the old design.. Also, the expression is between cute and needy, I always imagined Manchus as a crazy pet in the jungle.. I think you should add to it more attitude :P

2. The tail - I think in old design it's more alive but in the new one it's so normal..

3. The position - I love the old position, like I said, it had an attitude and a character, now it's really boring to see the Manchu :(

Anyway, I love the colors, the fur is really awesome and the ears are so fluffy :D

I can't figure out what the expression on it's face is supposed to be. It's cute though and very much an improvement. I never even noticed they had wing flaps.

I always thought the Manchu was something between a ring tailed lemur and a colugo, and had hoped to see a revamp with fur on the gliding skin. Such is not to be, which sadly leaves it rather ordinary looking. I also liked the upraised hand and mischievous expression of the old version better.
Other than that, the overall look of the new one is lovely. Nice shading, awesome fluffyness and great attention to details. Tough call, I'm scratching the Manchu off my "Pet Wanted" list now, but even with the things I prefer on the old version, the new one gets my vote by a slim margin.

I quite like the updated design! It's fur is more realistic looking, the shading is softer and haha, I never noticed the wing flaps until you mentioned them!

The face. It looks frightened or confused now. I wish it was as content as the old one!

What's with giving these revamps such sad faces all of a sudden? First the Ontra had this sad/scared expression on its face on the original revamp proposal which was changed, now the Manchu! Please stop giving these sad faces to pets! :/

The original Manchu looks happy and full of life. This newly proposed one looks like it's guilty of doing something with that "OMG I did something wrong and am covering it up with a guilty smile/face to try and hide what I did" look. If you're going to change something, keep the expression the same please! This new face looks just terrible! :/

Not to mention the head's been shrunk so badly it looks like it's being swallowed up by the size of the body. The proportions are way off and seeing it just standing there on all 4s makes it look boring.

I miss the wing flaps, too. Made me think that the manchu was a cross between a flying squirrel and Lemur. The wing flaps were part of the pet. Taking that away is like changing the entire pet. Same with taking the fins away on the Ontra tail. The flyaway fur on the chest looks weird, too, like he just got the fur permanently ironed that way. I don't like any of these changes and my vote is 100% with the old

I love the revamp, my only critique would be that the tail seems... off? I think it looks too large and stiff as the head seems to have gotten a little smaller. Maybe thin the tail a little in proportion to the rest and give it a little more movement?

I do like the revamp, it's so fluffy and much higher quality than the old one. there is a bit less mischievousness in the new one, maybe in the angle of the head? it looks a bit frightened i guess. though I agree with , and would like to know why the wing flaps are being removed. they gave the species a uniqueness that I really liked.

I'm so happy to see that more Pets are getting rather neutral faces now, I always disliked the huge army of always smiling basic color Pets.
