I still like the old kora. The new one is super cute; although, it looks kind of "pudgy", and there is something about the body that kind of bugs me--like, the body is to short, and the legs look a little short too.

Hrm. After viewing it for a few days, I think I kinda like the new kora- except for that the shading and highlighting is too defined on the lighter purple parts and some of the higlighting is a little too exaggerated on the eyes. I think the head:body ratio is pretty cute, and I like how the, er, "limbs" of the ears and tail look like the arn't about to fall off. =)
I also like how the legs aren't furry. The kora never struck my as a fuzzy-type pet. =/

The revamp is nice, but the one thing I don't like about it is the size of the torso to head. The body looks a bit too round, and the head a tad too small for the size.

As for what people are saying about the shading, I personally like it. It gives the Kora a more rubber look, which I like :3

Oooooo,
Compared to the old revamp,
Which I believe was rejected,
this new new one is way better.
It still has the cuteness of a Kora,
and still adds a bit 'chibi' to it.
I think this revamp makes it look a bit plump though.

hmm, I like it for the reasons already stated, but I agree with the following points:

a wee bit too shiny... kora needs fur ;.;
and the eyes are a bit...scary. I just think the old ones had more expression, they look a bit alien..ish to me now.
and I dont think it looks chubby. oO

I love CINNAmon's reshading job. The Kora itself is great, but it does look kinda shiny. If the staff just pulls the reshaded one off of here, I'd definentally want one.

I like this Kora better than the old one because of its face. Its face is a lot more attractive now!

However, it looks a little like a Kora made of bubbles--too shiny, more rounded/chubby, and absolutely hairless. But I swear, I really do like it

Oh I really like this version. It maintains the cute look the last one had and I think the cubbiness works fine because it balances out the chubby face. The eyes are amazing too. One thing I'd change is that the base of the tail looks a little odd... Like if it has one big blue patch on it's bum. x3 I think if they looked more like they were coming from somewhere near the tailbone then it may be better.

Overall, I like this one and voted for it.

I like the shading a bit more in the new one, I think what makes it seem so "plasticy" as some other people mentioned is that there seems to be more contrast in the shade/highlight colors when it was cell shaded. There might not be, it just seems "bolder" in the newer one.

But I do agree it seems a bit chubbier in the newer version but it could just be the angle that we're viewing the kora from.

I like the new one better. I agree that it is too shiny on the body and it could be a little more slim. I think the bit of fur off the elbows was cute (the old one had it). It could also use a little more shine on the tail and it would be perfect!

The only thing I enjoy about the new one is the eyes. The older one is more slender. That's the thing I want to see repeated in the revamp. This new one seems a bit loopy. I would like its appendages to have a more definite shape.

Hmmm... I don't care for the new one. I think the line art is superior in the old version, and super-shiny shading in the new version makes it look like a balloon animal. The old version also has a slightly more active pose... I don't really see any improvement here, IMO.

This has to be my favorite redraw, I have to admit the shading is to shiny, but that can be fixed.... if the artist wants of course.
Although I think its a healthy size and if made "skinny" it would look like it had an eating disorder.
And besides, why is it that everytime I look at a revamp people say its fat? C'mon, its an animal not a super model. -sighs-

Well, I personally think this one is adorable x3 -le sigh- I'm worried about Kora's Graveyard color, though..Would it be revamped as well? -really hopes not-..I know such a request wouldn't really change anything, but really, I could've easily imagined Graveyard Kora being one of those colors that was just..never released. Graveyard seems like a really morbid color to be available to Koras, yet it exists! So, while I don't imagine a redraw of it even being -attempted-, I'd..appreciate if it stayed that way xD Thanks :'3

I don't think the new one looks fat, I think the shading makes it look kinda fat. Maybe if it was less bright or had a less detailed shading it wouldn't look like that.

I love it's face, and the squirmy tails and ears...But I agree that it looks like a pudge monkey. It's adorable like that though, maybe you could try to draw it skinnier and have a poll on it or just ask everyone's opinion about a skinnier version?

I like it, though, aside from it's weight gain. ^^ The tails seem a bit weird, as well. If you could make it less chubby and cuter I would definately vote for it. But not this time...^^;;..

But like everyone said, it doesn't look as cute and innocent anymore. It looks more powerful and bulky- not like the small and cute Koras we know.

The old pose is the very essance of the kora, its delicate, small, adorable. The look on its face and the shape of it's body is why we love the Kora.

If the artists could do a retouch of the kora, same pose better shading then it would be 100% loveable.

I'll have to agree with most of what's been said here.
If it's been said already, it hasn't been said enough, the front legs have different joins. It's right has a wrist joint bending down, and it's left has a elbow joint bending out. So it's right has no shoulder muscle, and maybe that's ok, it would probably make it look bulkier. The outline isn't bad, it's just accentuated with all the harsh shading. Keep at it, you'll find one we'll love.

i've seen the first attempt of redrawng it...
love this here for the as-same-as-manageable pose now. not the stiff first try. - voting new
though it does look a bit overschaded... with that many darker lines on highlight/normal color edges on the body... it looks like plastic. thats the only part i totally dislike about it. (also i think that little highlight part on the body/belly can easily be removed)

I am by no means a professional artist. However, I'd like to say that I love the pose of the head on the new revamp, but something about the eyes isn't quite right... sorry I can't be more specific. Also, I dislike the way the ears/tail things seem to look exactly the same. In the old one, something makes them look slightly different while still keeping the shape similar...Possibly the lighting?
I think that maybe if you took the old pose and revamped it with new lineart/shading, the reception might be better
(I hope that made sense)

I agree with what's been said about the shading being a little harsh, but overall I like this a lot ^^

The ONLY thing that I dislike are the eyes - the old Kora had a curious, sweet expression and this one looks serious and powerful. More white highlights in the eyes would make it have more of its old personality.

The new one's positioin bugs me, but that could just be me, it looks like it's falling or something. Also a bit pudgy for my taste. The ears are also sort of inconsistent, but I think it gives it character. It's quite nice, I just prefer the previous one.

Hmm. I think it's a little too pudgy- and the tails/ears are too much like noodles. I much prefer a finnier kora look than a noodlier (??) kora look. However, the shading is really good (if perhaps overdone, and maybe that's where the pudge comes from?) and the eyes are much stronger in personality (why, I don't know).

But yeah. see previous Kora revamp for more finny a look. While the pose of that one isn't as exciting I think the design is a lot closer to what a kora should look like.

This new one is great - but not perfect just yet. However Ive already seen some good comments.
CINNAmonfreek's shading touchup is very nice - it looks a lot better than the shading currently there.
Nestly's visual critiques are also very good. However I like the new Kora's eyes XD; I think they match the old one.

This one is good because it looks like the old one only wiht updated art. However I noticed the ears and tails really aren't that good. Perhaps just retouching this one up would be nice?

I didn't like the ear blending in with the tails so much either - it makes it hard to look at for me.

Ahh, this is so much better. I had a Kora for a really long time and eventually just couldn't stand how outdated the art was anymore. The lineart was horrible, and the head just kinda looked like it was glued on. |D;;
As much as I love Waffles and her art, I'm really glad the old revamp never went through. The face just bothered me and the anatomy was generic. It looked more like fanart of the original Kora rather than a revamp. The only thing I may have liked a little more about it was the softer shading and how thin she made the ears and tail at the end. And I'm not so sure about the latter, because I think you made the thicker tails and ears look okay.
Anyway, I really love the face on this. I don't understand what people have again the eyes or or shape of it or whatever. o.O It's about the closest you could possibly get to the original Kora without leaving it the way it is. I love the shading that defines the mouth and the way you make the eyes look more focused without adding definite pupils.. that's not always an easy thing to do. XD;
The only things I think could truly be improved on this are the size of the head and front legs. I think the head seems a little oversized, but you could fix it by just skimming a little off the top. The front legs I think just need to be a little thicker, or maybe longer.. something about them just makes them seem like they're a little too small for the rest of the body.
I suppose I can also see where people wouldn't like the tails being connected at the base, but that doesn't bother me personally.. And as for it not having any visible fur, I always assumed Koras had really short fur anyway. Much like a sealion or a horse.. if they didn't have a mane and tail, you wouldn't be able to see visible hair on most of them without standing right beside it. .o.

It's tails aren't like I thought they would be. Where it should be more soft and mystical now look slightly harder and like tentacles. The head is very round and for some reason it looks on. The shading looks more metalic then it does for. It's also a little chubby, chubby is not bad but it could use some slimming.

o: I'm not entirely liking the new design. Like a lot of people have said, the shading looks odd. In my eyes, the colors look almost metallic, where the old one's were more soft and fur-like. And the tail freaked me out. x_x with the bits on the ears, it made me think of Medusa for some odd reason.

However, I do love those eyes. Those. Came out great.

I love the tentacles look, we needed something with tentacles on it! I would probably spread those tail ones out a little more though so it is evident they are independent extensions. I agree with others that think it looks a little on the pudgy side now; the old one had a definite concave stomach and a more rabbit-like build. I also agree with all those that would like to see the fur from the old one retained in the model. It has shag on both the hind knee and the fore elbow so it was definitely meant to be a furry thing (or...something with finny scales...?!). I do love the bigger eyes and the shading's lovely, albeit smooth.
