I am home and painfully bored myself, I completely understand. I am just goofing around. Talking to my daughter over text. Talking to Narshe over Skype. Nothing of any note. Waiting on some freebie art at Rec. Checking Syndrone regularly for more spammers lol.

Oh my GAWD. It's ridiculously cold here too, to the point that my landlady's steps still have some rather monstrous icicles hanging off. orz Its really pretty but rather treacherous. Can we just skip February/March and go straight to April, so we can thaw? Lol

It's been below freezing for 2 days now here, we had a state of emergency ffs. That's how it is in the South, there's rarely bad cold so they don't invest in preparing for it. You cannot buy snow tires, for example, they just don't sell them here. No market for them. So as soon as its even slightly bad out everything closes down. I went out before freezing rain on Friday for a few items and bought the last two loaves of non-rye bread in all of Walmart, I mean, people go off! I was astonished there was milk.
So I also discovered my car fan is broken, so I have to get a rental tomorrow and find out when my mechanic can take a look at it. :/

Blegh. Ikr? No salt trucks, no consideration. At the same time, they'll blow things out of proportion; we were supposed to get like... 2 feet of snow or something? We got freezing rain and some ice, no snow. And because it's the south, no one knows how to handle snow anyway 99% of the time D: The weather reports causes a panic, people flip, then it's not really quite as bad as forecasted. It's 28 right now /sob

YES. They blow it all out of proportion. It's 27° here. Brrrrr. I am originally from PA so I know how crazy people are down here in snow and ice. People don't learn to drive in it, and as mentioned, no snow tires. No salt, no cinders - sand. WTF....

It's supposed to be cold but no more rain this coming week here and it better be true.
[-the-Meddler] I'm from Louisiana but live in GA so whenever a winter storm comes up, it just gets ugly. There have been legitimate times when it was necessary to call a state of emergency, because the state was basically looking like a tundra at one year LOL.

According to Dark Sky, which I love because it's an up-to-the-minute weather app, it's going to warm up slowly later this week and stay dry (WHOO!). At least between low to high 60s.
I'm in SC, about 2 hours from the beach, 40 minutes to the racetrack. It's the same here whenever a winter storm rolls through. I honestly thought we'd get worse, considering I am so close to the NC state line and they were supposed to get slammed.
I know I do! I love my SUV but I get tired of the cost of gas. I wish it did a little better in that regard.
We're supposedly looking at low 70s by Thursday, clear and dry too. I am sure my daughter will not be pleased, she wanted a snow day lol.

So do I! But I did find out that gas prices are set by the company, not the individual station. It's this whole convoluted thing.

Yes! Also, they look at the gas stations on the same side of their street to compare prices and to be more competitively priced. So on our street, it's a Valero then a Texaco and a Racetrac on the opposite of the street a little ways away. The Valero is typically about ~$2.15 or less, but it tends to be about $2.xx where as the Texaco can be much more expensive at like ~$3 or more.

Ooooo let me tell you, that whole family annoys me. He lives with his mom and today my daughter told me that she told him "found" his credit card in my daughter's room, that she must have been playing with it. Even I know she stole it and lied, she's always stolen from him. I am so upset for my poor daughter because she got this blame laid on her by her own grandmother!
There is one out on the road to where I used to live that is some weird independent name and the gas there is always the lowest. The usual price I am seeing right now is ~$2.14. He has $2.09.
Oh she's a kid alright. Ate pizza in the car next to me and laughed and chattered. I hate the weeks she stays with him, I miss her so much.

Oh he's the racist, I dunno about her. She knew she was licked when it came to arguing with me but he always wants to engage and all his racist arguments are just so awful! It makes him so angry that I won't buy into his rhetoric. I hate when he talks, most of the time I wish he'd just be quiet, there is nothing we have in common to talk about.
Yes it can. I just stopped today to put $10 into the tank of the rental so I can watch mileage and see how much it takes to fill it. I can't believe how much it costs to run a car these days, people are starving to pay for gas to get to work. It's crazy.

My roommate does not drive either, I am the household taxi. I actually hate driving so this business of having to drive my daughter to school is grueling. It hits all the wrong areas of my chronic illnesses. Right now I am thrilled that the rental has seat warmers because that heats my back while I drive, which is actually helpful rather than excruciating.
