I understand fully. It's really difficult to run stuff 100% on your own, even with someone to help back you up. If you have two like... Brazilian thingy, okay. Cool. Whatever. Does the fit the look you're going for? Great! Keep doing it! I think I made pretty good avatars, even if it was pretty simplistic in contrast to others I've or others have made. OH LAWD, RIGHT. It's sometimes really near impossible to blend the old with the new :( Some stuff on Subeta is the same way but we overlook it because the artists and the art is improving so much lately, it's astonishing. There flops here and there, sure, but overall, there's so much growth. Its why I really cannot wait for stuff like Survival, Masq, Vesnali and others to start. I want to see the rest of the Wanderlust wears from Luminaire!

It'll sometimes spit out foods, toys, minions but it's largely wearables, which makes it my go-to. I have waaaaaay too many Wiz tokens, like 8k? But all the better to spend on other people when the Token Shop restocks.

Ooh the newer rose print heels? YES. I want some plain variations, because the shape is so perfect. It doesn't look weird on the foot like shoes sometimes can. It really is, but I pretty much get why. Subeta is writing it's own history with different races, traditions, solar system (lol). whereas most sites it's just Easter, Halloween, etc. It'll have unique items, but it's not a unique holiday, you know?

My current is made to match Narshe's so it's not necessarily as complex as one I'd have made and had them match me. AND YES OMG TRYING TO BLEND OLD AND NEW ARTISTS MAKES ME WEEP.

The avatar shape has it's quirky style but the items here are really to die for, they must have great artists working here. I'm so hopeful that my HA will improve more over time. I just love the items!! ;w;

Yes those heels and I would die for some plain ones, in every color? Yes please! Just like the flats, but that style. I like the unique calendar and holiday themes here, too, it's very clever and different. It keeps the interest high. And the items they give out are nice, too, I liked what I got for New Year's.

I like it, it's something to do while I click and click for quests and vending. I don't know why I do it because it does cost. Maybe it's just the idea of doing some minigames while I work on other stuff? IDRK.

They really were... I'm over here thinking "why are you all eating this up?" The Ombre Diphora was pretty decent. Watch it stay open because the owners have the servers paid, they're just absent lol. That's the best part. Yeah, CS art is going to be waaaaaay better a lot of the time, but you can blend the commons, holiday, and CS and still look very good. Like I'm a mix of CS, Subeautique, holiday and commons! Plus one retired common item, that I found recently and bought like all the colors lol

I've done it before, it's just one of those things. I have safety valves to blow off steam, believe it. And we've been working on it a long time so we've gotten better items and match better now than we used to. I play Gaia for pure acquisition, so I fund our matching stuff much of the time. Rec is easy to buy matching items. Syndrone took the most work but of course I can grant myself anything I want so I have no problems matching Narshe.

I had the same reaction, trust me on that, even if I didn't express it publicly. He used to show us previews and stuff before the items came out and he was so proud of himself for getting another item out and I would be just dying. GOD. The Ombres are pretty good hairs. I have them all of course...I keep wondering how long they've paid the servers for. What if they paid the whole year? I will be stuck there running the place with no input and no support. It's such an odd coral-orange color, it doesn't quite fit anything other than what's part of it's set. Yay! No, you have company there! Caedon avatars are absolutely atrocious. I tried Solia, who has not-bad avatars and items but I cannot get into the site. It bores me and it's complicated and I didn't find people helpful. I even put in to be "adopted" by an experienced member and all she did was basically tell me to contact her if I had questions. It's different here, people reached out to me and offered me advice, which is just what I needed. The wears really make it for me, too. Yes, I know the base is kind of stumpy and has weird feet (which is what people complain to me about the avatars) but you get used to working with that and the items are just incredible.

I tried that combination and loved it so much I am wearing it, thank you for the tip. This outfit really needed different shoes to make it. I like how the tiny bit of rose lace peeks out!

I am sadly a rag-flailing mom myself when it comes to this smoke alarm. I never know when it's gonna go off because it only takes the teenist bit of smoke to do it, less than I can see even. And of course I set up these dolls to look the way they do so if they look at me disapprovingly I have only myself to blame. B)

They really are! I found Solia so... Exclusive? On top of ugly :x There just aren't that many pretty sites IMO. Syn was pretty and Subeta's rather unique in that everything is smooth and refined. It only gets slightly pixelated if you zoom too much. Bleh, how useful of her. I'm always up to offer advice, unless I have no bloody idea. Our base may be stumpy, but you can replace limbs seamlessly LOL!

Well I imagine the artists always got a few of the items they made, but it's been so long since I even saw one of them I wouldn't be able to ask. If they did I guess that they were granted by icontrolawesomeness himself because I never granted an artist any items. It's just admin who have access to the database but we're not allowed to trade or buy art, since we're able to grant ourselves items. It was a bit sad not to be able to buy art. ):

YES. That's a good way to put it, exclusive. I didn't fit in and I really felt that. I felt blown off by the person who "adopted" me. There was one person who reached out and donated to me and she liked it here, so I came and tried it here and it works for me. People here are friendly, the wears are nice and the avatars are fun to make, plus the minigames and quests keep me engaged. Now I also have a "home hangout". ^^

I'll have to try layering behind the base. That's a trick I hadn't thought of yet but I can see where it would be very useful. How do you like the new avatar system? It was changing almost since I arrived so I'm nobody to judge the difference. I barely knew the first system.

It's very alienating over at Solia. No thank youuuuu! I'll stick to Subeta. It's much more pleasant over here, since you can always engage or disengage at anytime with the community as a whole and just lurk 24/7. :D I've like never had a decent hangout but this is awesome <3 I might start a group for Syn. I have one set up for potentially doing CWs.

Its really good for the newer backdrops, because they have to be layered under your HA, or over it so you just have the backdrop lol. The very "first" system that I used with Subeta was... Kind of buggy at times. It was set up with a box on the right of the screen where the items you had on were, and you could uncheck, move them around. But you could only move the hair freely, nothing else. This is also part of what it looked like You could have different eye colors/styles set to certain expressions and only had 3 outfit slots lol. The second new one was better, but still fairly similar with more slots to save outfits. Then there was the v3, then a second v3 which we were using up till now. The v3.5 is much smoother and faster, but my only gripe is if you borrow an item, and remove it from the wardrobe, it ends up removed from your saved HA too. :( So that's crappy but whatever.

It's so awkward, oh my god :,D But at the same time, they can't judge because it's probably happened to them too!

The ideas is that we'd forget what we actually owned and what we'd granted ourselves free from the database and that would essentially mean we'd be granting ourselves items or copper or coils or tag points for buying the art. I can sort of see the point but it was a bummer at the same time. Thank goodness Narshe was able to trade for art...of course not now, oh well, I needed the help too much and wasn't about train someone new to do the job.

Right. I enjoy that about Subeta too, the option to just lurk and remain engaged in other ways, vending or games or my baking obsession lol. I just leveled up again and already baked all three of the new items, now I am baking just to vend the items. I'd be interested in joining a group for Syn refugees.

Well it certainly looks like the new wardrobe is an improvement. I like it, I find it easy to use and love the ability to layer freely over or under. I had an autumn avatar with a backdrop and a fire in front of me on the ground. That was a nice option to have and I liked that avatar even though it was all commons I got free for the event, quests and from claw machines.

It is awkward! The place across the street from me seems to be a hangout. They chill outside playing horseshoes and stuff over there all the time and it's sooooo embarrassing to open the door and have them all look lmao.

I was doing art, but then moving, the site going... Uh... "through ups and downs," then seeing very, very few people around, I gave up. Didn't help that I also had to change my art program from Paint Tool SAI to FireAlpaca :,( I miss SAI but I only have my fiance's MacBook right now. 😓 Def. want to get a Windows laptop, even if it's cheap. The cheap ones are at least becoming better as time goes on.

LOL I kept getting Blue Building events, then finally decided "okay, I'll fill out the other requirements" last year. Its better than others, for sure... I never posted on Gaia, it was just so damn toxic :x I also never posted on now-defunct Ernya, just cause it never appealed to me. How does the FireTool Alpaca measure up to SAI? Not that I use them but my roommate swears by SAI and my daughter has a copy. Are you doing art anywhere else? Yes I am liking the wardrobe here. I like the search function, a lot. I think it's easy to work with the layering, too, of course. I wish more people would give this place a try! I talk it up everywhere I go.

It's comparable, but I definitely prefer SAI. The tools panel is sort of similar, but it doesn't have some brushes/tools that come preloaded into SAI--for example, SAI comes preloaded with a glow tool but FireAlpaca does not, so you have to download them for FireAlpaca or fudge one with a lot of stuff. x_x That certainly irks me. I don't really like the set up either, but I'm not sure how much of it can change for more ease of use on my part. For now, it's useable, but certainly not my favorite/preferred program. I'm not doing art here just yet because I took like... a year not drawing (not even.... GASP traditionally! :P ) because thing were chaotic. But I will definitely do art for free cause I need the practice and I'm working on making CWs for the future. Aka when I have CSC! XD I have bad vision, but its more so because I need a new prescription.

You can get a Bumbus pet from the Blue Building, or in the case of events (saw this mentioned in the forums!), the Queen Bumbii will turn one of your existing pets in a Bumbus. I think that's about as much as I can say?XD OH LAWD, I saw that and saw one of the prizes was "Be flown out to see your customized server go live and we'll pay for your hotel and travel" and I was like "Dafuq, you need money for servers but you can pay someone's travel expenses???" Sketched me out.

It's much faster, even it has hiccups when initially typing stuff in where it boots you back to whatever was on the page to start. The layering is nice since it's just drag/drop, but I can understand how others might not find it so easy to utilize. I do too! We don't bite! We have tons of wears! And lore! And events! And everything else you could potentially want!

It has quality lore and quality NPCs lmfao...something many places don't have. You can lurk and don't have to jump in with both feet right away, too. We have all the wears, really, and a nice closet and fun events. Plus pets. I really don't get it. People are either intimidated by the navigation or like "um those avatars are stumpy" or something else similar. They're missing out. I love it here!

It's really pretty fun <3 We may be stumpy but we have non-pixelly items. :3 I admit, navigation can be confusing, for sure, but Gaia is also fairly confusing IMO and I've been on there for years. It's still confusing :/ I love it here too, because it gets easier when you learn where everything is.

Yes, they do, it's really fun and you get used to the navigation, just like anyplace else. I thought the map was hard at first but now I know it and it seems easy to me. You just have to practice getting around a bit and it all falls into place eventually. It helps to know about SubetaLodge and stuff, checking the Wiki helps, too. It just takes some intelligence is all. And you are so right, we may be stumpy but the wears are superior, really superior. -3-
