Gaia stepped up eager to begin. She has been flying in the woods behind their house for years I guess it pays up to be the keepers of the Sacred forest in Ireland. She has always love the freedom of flying and last Christmas she got a Nimbus 2012 and a Quidditch kit so she could play with her dad and cousins.

Grabbing the parchment and quill scribbled her name Gaia Kavanaugh - Ravenclaw- BEATER- Been flying most of my life - Nimbus 2012 - Favorite team: Irish National Quidditch Team

() "This is so much fun! I love being a Beater but if we need a Keeper I can fill in for a while!" Gaia was already on her broom hovering with ease feet feet from the ground.

Aderyn walked onto the pitch, glancing around at the people she saw gathered there. She was glad to see a friendly face and she waved to her friend as she came closer. Spotting the quill and parchment, she walked over, writing her information down.

Aderyn Jones - Ravenclaw - experienced at flying but not overly good at it, never played quidditch before and not sure which position I would be best at

She had wanted to try something new and so she decided it might be fun to partake in the quidditch club - she knew she'd never make the house team, but hopefully she could pick up some skills along the way and have fun with her classmates. If worst came to worst, she supposed she could always use her wings for balance on her broomstick. Not too many people knew that she was part fae, but if they found out she wouldn't be bothered about it anyway.

"Hi Aderyn!" Gaia waved from her broom. "I am glad you came! I hope some of our housemates join soon."

Aderyn nodded in agreement. ()

"I'm sure there are lots of people wanting to give quidditch a try!"

As she spoke, she held her broom - a Firebolt III - and prepared to mount it. Swinging her leg over it, she got on and kicked off of the ground, hovering easily enough and holding on tightly with two hands. She wasn't used to flying with one hand, but she cautiously tried it, feeling relieved when she didn't immediately fall off of her broomstick.

"You make it look so easy!" She laughed, speaking to Gaia.

"It is easy! Just be confident in your broom and reflexes. If you think to much you might confuse yourself." Gaia lifted both hands from the broom finding balance with her legs. After a few seconds she put her hands back on the broom. "I always wanted to be a Beater so I learned to master my flying one handed at a young age. I think I was 8 years old when my dad started teaching me how to use a broom."

"I've never played quidditch. I've watched plenty of matches, though, and I think I'd like being a chaser or a keeper the most. I'm not sure I'm balanced enough to be a keeper, but I figured I would try anyway!'

As she lifted off the ground a little higher, her glamour faded a bit from around her and her delicate, translucent wings became visible as she took her hand off of her broomstick again and attempted to balance. Making a face, she put her hands back on her broom and forced herself not to use her wings.

"These things are an unfair advantage and it's going to take me a while to get used to not using them for balance. I'll be the first to admit that I've always used my wings to help me with flying just because I'm able to - I guess I've never really tried flying for an extended period of time without them. We'll find out how that goes for me soon, I'm sure."

She smiled wryly and sank lower on her broom again, hovering just high enough off the ground that she could remain sitting on her broom rather than standing beside it.

() "Those are neat!" Gaia said in awe. "They can come in handy!" smiling she hovered beside her friend. "Maybe once everyone is away we can fly!" moving closer to her friend "I am always down for flying!" giving her friend a mischievous wink Gaia did a quick loop in her broom then returned to her place.

"I'm happy to try, anyway! I was always overly cautious on my broom after dad used to tell me horror stories of some of the flying accidents he'd seen come in to St. Mungo's, but maybe I'll find the courage to give it more of a chance!"

She clapped as Gaia did a loop on her broomstick, managing to stay steady on her own broom. Glancing around, she wondered when others would be joining them and hoped to see even more familiar faces.

Ernessa took the parchment and quill from Aderyn after she was done with it and began to write down her information Ernessa, slytherin, average flyer, keeper Ernessa was really excited for quidditch club this term as it gave her an opportunity to practice before the house team tryouts. She jumped on her Australian Flyabout 100 and joined and Aderyn () in the air. 'Whoa, do you have wings!' she exclaimed excitedly to Aderyn, 'that's pretty neat'

() "Oh yeah Quidditch can be interesting that way. I guess the freedom of flying comes with warnings and precautions." Gaia waved at the new comer. ()"Hello! I'm Gaia from Ravenclaw. Pleasure to meet you!" with a grin.

Magnus was happy for the Quidditch club to finally start. He'd been itching to play. He wrote on the parchment: Magnus Lee Gryffindor. Been riding on my Dad's Nimbous 2001. Pretty good at beater I think, might be able to do seeker but not sure cos I've never played an actual game before.

He frowned a little, there was probably a lot more people qualified to play. He wandered over to the school brooms and picked it up. Mounting it he flew around holding on with his right hand only. The broom was old and a little sluggish but it still handled okay. He saw and Aderyn ( ) and waved to them. He wondered if or Rowan () would be joining

Aderyn was hovering not too far off the ground when she and were joined by another student. Aderyn smiled at the girl as she flew up to them ().

"Yeah, I'm part fae. I've gotten so used to using them for balance with flying that sometimes I forget they're even there."

As Gaia introduced herself to the newcomer, Aderyn chipped in.

"Aderyn, also Ravenclaw!"

Her attention was diverted as yet another student joined them and she smiled, waving at Magnus () as he came up to their level on a broomstick as well.

"Nice to see you, Magnus!"

"'Llo," he said in his standard greeting. He had heard words like Saint Mungo's and wings but it was the former that peeked his interest. "Aderyn, you say your dad works at Saint Mungo's?" "Oh, Magnus 'o Gryffindor," he said to the girl he didn't know.

Aderyn nodded at Magnus ().

"Yes, my dad's a healer at St. Mungo's. Why do you ask?"

She wondered whether perhaps someone from Magnus' family worked in the hospital as well, if perhaps her father had ever mentioned them and she just hadn't made the connection, or whether maybe Magnus had wound up in hospital at some point and met her dad that way.

"That's really cool. What does he specialise in? What wing? I lived at Saint Mungo's for almost a year before I was adopted. Wanted to be a healer... but I'm not sure I can be.."

"He specializes in magical maladies and potions," Aderyn explained, balancing carefully on her broom as she regarded Magnus (). "Taught me a lot about growing all sorts of healing herbs and plants. Right now, though, he's focusing mainly on newly discovered diseases, ones he thinks might be cropping up due to the mixing of pure blood with muggle blood."

As she spoke, she leaned forward and back a little, her broomstick dipping up and down, making her bob in the air. The longer she spent on it, the less she felt like she was going to fall off and get herself injured, but she still didn't trust herself to do anything crazy.

"Only saw Healer Mathilda Sparks, though she told me that there were many healers there the day I was brought in in the Auror's arms. Said it was awful. If the Auror hadn't been following the werewolf and stopped the attack I would've died. Couldn't send me back to me orphanage so lived there...." He was out now and since his parents refused to let him leave Hogwarts he more or less decided to forgo the secrecy. He wanted to be liked for who he was and not what he became involuntary 3 times a month. "So kept me there. Were thinking I'd just go to Hogwarts and return to Mungo's on summer 'olidays. But near me 10th birthday the Lee's came visiting a relation who'd gotten bit by a poisonous spider and they wound up adopting me. Potions are my life line really. Take wolfsbane obviously but healing potions are needed often cos transformations can be violent..." He watched her on her broomstick like she was gaining confidence. He had more or less parked along side alternating hands holding the handle.

Seeing people already in the air she set the bat down, hurriedly looked around for the sign-in sheet, and added her info;

Samantha Grant, Slytherin house. Practiced lots, but never played in a real game.
