The prices for the Alegarten items this year for the new items are flat-out ridiculous. When the holiday shop was around the prices were never that exuberant. We all are not made of money and having these massive sP sinks every holiday and event turns them from something you look forward to to something you are disappointed with as you just shelling massive amounts of sP out. Do we have to have massive sP sinks every holiday now? Is this how the holiday events are going to be - making us all broke and turning the holidays from fun to nightmares because of the prices of items? I mean seriously- bring the fun back into holidays without making all of us go broke every time.

I see what you mean. I added up all of the items that I needed from the shop, and it comes to over 15million. I do have a lot of sp, and I do need those wearables :p But I'm still not overly happy that it's going to cost so much for the books and items that I need

People are forgetting that two of the whiskey bags were over 10M a pop BEFORE the Alegarten shop.
Because that sure it what I paid for my Teal and White bags.
Leviathan and Wizard drinking games were also in the 12-15M range two years ago. Do you really want holiday shop back? Because these items were more expensive before that your entire wishlist for this year. I'm not kidding. You are winning off in this system.
The Alegarten Shop is a money sink Money Sinks are better when there are large quantities of money leaving. Not 10K per item.
Finally, you don't have to buy everything this year. As far as I can see, nothing retired so far, and buy items from the oldest years first if retirement is what you're afraid of.
Weren't people just complaining about freyalise and the restocking involved? This system is a whole lot FAIRER than that. I'd rather shell out more, get some sp out of the system while I'm at it, and be able to get everything I want without trying to restock like a madwoman (because no, vending for 2 - 3 items a day that I might have from that shop wasn't appealing to me in the slightest).
I don't recall sp sinks for every single holiday. The shop is nothing new from last year's, so idk why anyone would be surprised if they were here for Alegarten last year. They could have retired things from previous years or upped the prices, but they didn't do that. I hope this system doesn't go away.
Yes
Keelhauliday : SNIFFFFFFFFLES. EVERYTHING IS SO HARD TO GET, IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME PEOPLE GETTING THEM AUTOBUYERS!!!!!!!!!1111
Alegarten : SNIFFFFFFFFFFFFFLE, WHY ARE EXPENSIVE 300K ITEMS. IT'S SO EXPENSIVE! I AM NOT MADE OF MONEY
Morostide : SNIFFFFFFFFFFFFFLE. WHY ARE THE FREE ITEMS I DON'T HAVE TO PAY SO RANDOM. WHY AM I GETTING HEXED ALL THE TIME, THIS EVENT SUCKS.
I disagree about the prices. I think they're spot on, especially compared to the prices in the SS. A lot of the items and wearables are cheaper than every day normal items you buy and sell.
As easy as it is to earn sP here, I "go broke" for maybe an hour.
Besides, like someone mentioned earlier... This method is 100000x better than having to fight restockers with set restocks. It's totally worth the "extra sp".
I absolutely hate that each of the female wigs is at least 200k, especially considering the collection stuff is 100k a piece each, but there really isn't a ton of items, and I think that balances it a lot better.
I am disapointed to see not a single new sticker (or minion either) even though plushies got a new set and so did beanbags.
lol It's a verifiable Catch-22 for staff. xD Poor folks.
There is just so much pretzel and beer stickers one can make, haha!
Also, people have complained during peka-boo that they didn't like collection items being the most expensive things because for things like books, you might need more than one. So, having collection items being cheaper than wearables (who can be resold) doesn't bother me as much as it should.
Nobody is forcing you to buy the items. And I'm pretty sure this way is cheaper than buying them all from user shops. Unless you were lucky enough and had enough free time to restock all of them.
I was able to finally buy many items that I was unable to get previous years due to inflation in shops.
Can you imagine how inflated and unobtainable the achievement items would be, especially? For the life of me, I can't imagine why anyone is complaining about this. And I am not a rich user at all.
Oh, this again...
I really like this shop style, especially since it comes right off the tail of Keel Hauliday; if it were another manic restocking holiday I don't think I could cope.
Peka-Boo - huge sP sink. New MC items each season - sP sink. Freyalise - sP sink. The February event - sP sink.
There will be more coming up when the next three holidays come around on Subeta. This system is NOT more fair. It's worse. Way worse. Having to shell millions of sPs out every holiday makes them unenjoyable. I don't need the whole "it's easy to make sP on here" either because even though it may be true over some other sites, trying to make millions upon millions of sP back in a short period of time isn't easy. With RSing your only making sP from other users, so, really, there's no real profit being made by both users. It takes TIME to earn all you spend on holiday items back through quests and games. Doable, sure, but not easy to do in a short time period.
What are poor players supposed to do after the holiday's over? Pay the ridiculously high inflated prices for the items in player shops? How is THAT fair?!?
Paying millions of sPs out each holiday just doesn't make it fun for anyone as after the money's been spent people are left with an unhappy knot in their stomachs because of the large amount they need to recoup before the next holiday...if they can. If they can't they're left out of anything they may want during that holiday because they can't afford the prices. This is a classic case of "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer". There isn't any fairness to this system. I can understand holiday items being ib the 30 to MAYBE 50k price range each, but pricing items in the hundreds of thousands range is just not fair unless you're a multi-billionaire.

Didn't you make this exact same complaint last year?
Some events are going to be SP sinks. Many players are smart enough to save up in preparation for these pricey events.
^ THIS EXACTLY ^ I paid so much for those damn Drinking Game sets originally, and never managed to get all of the whiskey bags. Now I can get as many copies as I want for a set price and read them to more pets and add them to TCs. 8D No, I'm not at all mad that the items I paid extravagant amounts for are now affordable. I love it. The shop idea is great, and I don't think the prices are bad at all considering how much sp you can make from Wizard and Saggi quests every single day. And bonus SP if you sell the tokens and Quest Points/QP items instead of hoarding them!
New mc items each season aren't holidays. They have nothing to do with this conversation imo.
Freyalise wasn't that big of an sp sink lol.
Yes, it is fairer. This system doesn't rely on having a fast internet or good computer processing power. Neither does it rely on luck and being on a time to catch a particular item you want.
Please don't speak for everyone, because I don't get unhappy knots in my stomach after Alegarten unless I drink too much beer irl. Then maybe. But spending sp I should have saved up in advance as a user who was here last year for the Alegarten shop change? Nope, no ulcers involved.
The rich get richer, the poorer get poorer only applies if the items are resold... what. Because NO ONE is getting more money by solely buying items from the shop. I can't follow your logic. Please expand your thoughts.
I think what annoy some people the most is that there is no way to make money via reselling holiday items with Alegarten, and that's how they managed to profit enough to buy what they wanted.
They made their money during the event by reselling what they didn't want from floaters/restocking/quests/random events/reselling currency/whatever. But there is no such option for Alegarten! There is nothing worth reselling for them to make a easy profit.
So, the issue for these people is not that the holiday items are expensive. It's that there is no way for them to profit off the event.
^ I agree. Some of the people complaining are swimming in CWs and the like, how do they have any shortage of sP? I really think most people are angry that they can't profit, not that they supposedly "can't afford" all the items.
If you are seriously going to get knots in your stomach over Alegarten and other sP sinks, hold off on buying some other expensive stuff so you know you can get all the items.
I really do not see a problem with the pricing. Sure, they're a little more expensive than some other events, but as an older player you should have been well aware of that. And no matter how much you'd like to argue with it, making sP on this site is pretty easy! Questing alone should do the trick - and it is not like you need to buy everything or anything for that matter. Events in general require you to put in some effort one way or another if you want to participate, this is nothing new.
I have been saving up for this event, since I knew things were going to cost a tad more than usual. That being said, the idea of a shop with set prices and a chance to buy everything ... what's unfair about that? With the Freyalise event you either had to catch a restock and be fast enough to buy the item you sought after, or be lucky enough to get it through Carl and / or vending. The shop will at least allow people to buy what they really want.
Actually, you can profit off it, just.... probably not in 5 - 6 days' time to buy what you want in the Alegarten shop. I know the wears I didn't get were massively inflated the rest of the year, going for millions each, and if the price average on hovers are in any way reliable, there was profit made. It's just not instantaneous profit.
There's always someone complaining when there's some effort involved. There's so many options regarding what you can do here. Just don't buy them if it bothers you. Only buy what you can afford/really want. Actually really put the effort into getting the money. No one is owed any of this stuff. You get out what you put in.
