I completely agree. I get them being expensive but I think it's over the top. I get the reasoning and yeah awesome sP sink but if events keep going like this, it's not going to be fun anymore. Just "Oh I have to blow this huge amount of sP if I want anything ever, cool."

Aren't the prices around the same as they were last year? o.O Nothing's changed. If anything, the newer items are much cheaper than the older ones, at least I've noticed that pattern with the foods.

Trust me, I don't like how expensive they are either. I have a food pet, so I need to buy each and every food item, drink, and then books for my battle pet THEN the items I like and want for my wardrobe. I'm missing a /ton/ of stuff. HOWEVER, nothing has retired as of yet that I've seen. I don't mind so much that some items are so expensive because nothing has retired, in fact, quite the opposite. This alegarten shop brought back all of the old items from the old holiday shop. While I do miss being able to nab the stuff I needed from the old mystery box only pulling from the holiday shop, this is fine too. It takes the random out of it, and I don't feel like I have to be in such a hurry to get things.

Am I going to get everything I want/need this year? Probably not because I've gone on a lot of shopping sprees as of late before Alegarten started, but that's fine by me. I can just save up, and if I miss stuff, I'll get it next year.

Yes, stuff is pricey, but you don't have to rush to get it. I'll take that any day, thanks c:

I don't really understand this when this system was around last year and we have so many varied, free avenues where items are given out. Usually using event currency, but also lots of freebies and floating items. The only other sP-dependent events this year have been Peeka-Boo and Survival (for any den items), no?

Also, not sure what else we're expected to spent our... on-site currency on, if not for the site. Earning sP and spending sP is kind of the backbone of the site.

The event being short is probably a good thing, too. We're in event season; from Keelhaulidy onwards, we have Alegarten, Morostide, Fireside, Luminaire, New Year, Survival, Masquerade and finally Vesnali before we get a longer breather. So many people seem to get fatigued by the constant stream of events, I see the same complaints every year. Having some lighter holidays can help break it up.

Maybe people are annoyed because of a few money-sink holidays in a row, but do you forget that at Morostide and Luminaire, most everything is FREE? And Survival and Masquerade aren't money sinks, really, they're time sinks. Yes, Peka Boo and Alegarten are classic money-sinks, and Keelhauliday is one too in a way, but after this from here and for the next few months, we get a lot of free swag.nnI feel like it balances alright, and don't really get where people are coming from when they dread ALL events turning into money-sinks, because I don't think they will.

I completely agree with the event being short, absolutely.

I'm concerned because it seems to be a trend that I'm not really happy with. Before, and for several years, it was holiday-exclusive currency, with shops being open year round, even if the event was over (See: Masquerade, Vesnali, etc)

Wolf_Spirit seemed to put it really well saying "Peka-Boo - huge sP sink. New MC items each season - sP sink. Freyalise - sP sink. The February event - sP sink.

There will be more coming up when the next three holidays come around on Subeta. This system is NOT more fair. It's worse. Way worse. Having to shell millions of sPs out every holiday makes them unenjoyable. I don't need the whole "it's easy to make sP on here" either because even though it may be true over some other sites, trying to make millions upon millions of sP back in a short period of time isn't easy. "

There are an increasing amount of sP sinks, which is fine, but I think there needs to be some moderation. I understand having higher prices, but 300K for several Plushies/Capes/Skirts? 245K for wigs? This stuff is more expensive than the SubQ, which I think is ridiculous. A LARGE amount of items being sold are 50k and higher. That's usually what they are in over inflated user shops after the event is over. That's sort of our "price to pay" for not getting it earlier. Certainly, some items in the shops are cheap, maybe even excessively so (500 sP for a crown may be a bit much, though I'm certainly not going to complain). There needs to be a middle ground. Spending, spending, spending is not an event. It's a temporary store. tbh I just think it's stupid and I'm sick, so I'm extra irritable.

The items that are marked as 300k are items that were ridiculous prices in user shops in previous years. We didn't want to make people spent millions for a velvet beer. These prices are stable, so you aren't spending millions for one item. Yeah, to get everything you want you might have to spend a few million, but you get more than one item.

We have a few items for other shops (token shop, genetech, etc) that are alegarten themed, so there will be things like stickers. We are trying to get better about getting different types of items out for everyone at holidays, Alegarten is just hard because lol so many beer/sausage items.

Also, I got a programmer to order the shop by time/ID rather than alphabetical order. So hopefully that'll help you guys out for new vs old items. :)

my qualm is the rotation hours of the shops. yeah it's "lore friendly" or whatever, but it just so happens that the ONE shop i care about (the one what got books in it) shows up in the frame of time i'm on the site the least, so i gotta hustle to get everything while it's there (thanks to timers) because i don't know if i'll get the chance to do it again.

that said, i absolutely appreciate having everything technically there in unlimited quantities, and i don't mind paying a static price to get those things i need.

When the holiday shop was around the prices were never that exuberant.

Except the prices actually were, because people would have to restock the items and would then pop them into their shop for millions a piece. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that this - spending, Idk, 250k for a wig, or 275k for a book - is pretty much better, because it's really much cheaper this way - unless you were a restocker back in the day, when the HS was around.

I mean, yeah, the cost of the items add up - but I'd rather pay an amount to Subeta for all the things I want than that same amount for one item in the shop of a user who restocked x item and can price whatever super high amount they want.

I look at the prices in the shop and groan, but then I remember that some of those items go for millions in user shops and I stop caring and fork over the 300k. So I don't really mind. I'm only after the food and book anyway since I'm not fond of the wears.

I think my biggest problem is that not everything is a unified price. ALL of the same item should be the same price. I get that there is a price variation because of rarities, but those don't exist in this shop anymore. Everything is the same rarity, and everything is attainable in exactly the same way, so why is one sausage plush 5k, and another one is 300k? Just pick a price, and make them all that price.

And to all of those people bitching about how much you spent getting these items before the introduction of shops- tough shit? It's hilarious that some of you want to be like "too bad, so sad" when it benefits you, but as soon as it benefits someone else, you want to run and cry. Nobody forced you to drop millions on that one book, so why the hell should it cost more now?

And the fact that a lot of this stuff is more expensive than SBQ should be a red flag, really.

Edit to say, that i'm not saying everything should be dirt cheap, but pick a middle of the road price, and price everything accordingly.

For comparison, last year there were 35 new items in the Geschenkboutiqe, the average price per item was 75k, and the cheapest items were 25k. This year, there are 43 new items, the cheapest are 75k, and the average price is about 150k. The Food Haus had twice as many new items, but they cost half as much on average as last year's crop. This is of course keeping in mind that many people were missing a lot of the older items and had to get them as well.

I'm personally not hurting for sP, so I don't find the prices that bad. I was a bit surprised there weren't at least some cheap-ish items. Mostly I just wish the Geschenkboutique wasn't open at such an inconvenient time, especially since it's the one with the most items. Maybe it can stay open a little later during the last day?

I don't mind the price tags I only wish the shops wouldn't rotate but that all of them would be accessible 24/7.

 1. The MC was the original sP sink, while the rotating stock does suck for collectors uhh yeah, no one has everything otherwise Ether and Natasha proof or gtfo and you have FOUR months to work on seasonals so bad example is bad.

 2. The... February.. lol survival? I assume since there's not a "February event" event that I'm aware of, but okay yeah Skitters is a sink but I'm loving the blatantly ignored fact that 75% of the survival based stuff is freely obtained by candy hearts?

 3. Peka-Boo was both a bad event and a (hopefully) plot one-shot. I doubt (hope) it'll ever go down again, and even if it does it probably won't be yearly (like the reading drive or epicon).

 4. So that leaves one whole sP sink based event. Keel isn't a sink, the sP changing hands does not leave the system? So, one. And there's people up in arms wanting everything for free. Idk if it's just me but something is reeking of self-entitlement....

And 5. Subetatique is around 24/7/365 until retired, this is a week. Yeah it's gonna cost more? But if anyone wants to do it the old fashioned way they can but nothing than pay a reseller five times more in a few weeks!

PS: yaayyy sorted by item ID thanks !

I've already said it somewhere, but the sets of items that have different prices between them are items that once were in the Holiday Shop. We didn't want to put an item that was work maybe 10k in shops as 50k+, just like at the time we didn't want to put items that were worth millions as just like 75k.

These items will eventually be phased out (after a few years we retire older years out of shops; look at masq shop or vesnali), so the prices will be completely unified in the future (new items from this year and last are unified, it's just those old old items).

Are any of the Alegarten items going to be retired for next year or will something like that be announced at the start of next Alegarten so people can prioritize and have time to do what's needed?

Something like that would be announced at the start of the holiday so you had that year to get all the old stuff. :) So no, they aren't retiring this year, but we might do it at the start of next year.

I Don't have a problem with the prices but I do have to say I hate the shop rotation. I wanted to catch up on some older clothes this year but of course the event happens over the weekend so between the stupid shop rotation and the timer (which, mind, I don't have a problem with the timer) I'm going to have to hope I can get everything.

Yeah yeah, whining about not being able to get everything. But I don't understand the purpose of having the shops rotate. It just adds stress to the holiday that shouldn't be there in an event where all you do is shot in a consistent shop and buy things.

Colour me intrigued, what was the reason again for the 5 minute wait time? I know everyone's drunk and hung over, but I imagine time is a nonexistent thing to them.
