Yeah, you can profit when they're retired, but these people prefer short-term profit, to make sure they can get all the pretty wearables before they retire for one year.

This is also why people whined at too much candy items and not enough wearables during morostide, and not getting a lot of items in their stocking.

Because GREEEEEEEED

Yeah, totally, I get why. I just can't buy that sob story, because those people could have saved that profit in their vaults and bought the items they wanted this year, but WAITING? What is this strange concept? Never.

I personally hate the 5min timer more then the prices. Let me toss my money at you all at once Subeta :P

I think the prices are fair and like others, I'm so happy that the items are in stock for anyone to get! The old Holiday Shop system sucked since you really only ever had really cheap items or insanely expensive ones and not much middle ground. If you don't want to spend the sp then don't, you can always save up more and buy them next year.

I agree with seerow.

I wouldn't want to spend every waking moment on Subeta, waiting to buy everything I need. XD

I'm totally fine with the shops and prices. It was a shock last year but I knew what to expect this year. And yes it might be more difficult for the newest members of subeta but it's a goal for next year. We were all new once and trying to earn sP for what we wanted. At least with Alegarten I can buy the books I want. Could't restock a single book I still needed from the pirates and the only one I did get Carl gave me. This way is better.

Now time to go questing to earn sP for the rest of the stuff I want. :)

I loathed the Holiday Shop, always have since I started the site, and would just ignore anything other than stuff which hit rock-bottom as I don't enjoy restocking here at all. Gunther's shop is so much more accessible. As many have pointed out, the prices topping out at 300k is extremely reasonable compared to many other expensive seasonal items.

I really appreciate that each event has a different modus operandi, too. I like that Alegarten has its rotating shops, Keelhaulidy has the Freyalise and now Carl quests, Morostide has ToT and Pumpkin Patch etc. Helps keep these yearly events a bit fresher. :)

I'd rather buy all the items I want for 15 mil than buy half the items I want for 50k and be unable to find the other half of the items I want for under 50mil.

And, if you pay attention to the hover prices, you can get a lot of the 300k items for almost half price in the shop search.

Oh man this sooooo much. That has been my biggest pain re: holiday items since I started the site. I have half a dozen of each of the cheap ones and pages of the unobtainable ones on my WL. I'm glad I can finally get some of those suckers XD

I just wish the holiday's aspect were not limited to the solitary activity of buying (with even more annoying time constraints).

I agree with you.

I also wish there was a more diverse selection of items. NO new minions? NO new stickers?

Lol yeah like best I recall I spent at 15m on JUST the wizard drinking games whenut first came out-- even with the Mystery Box being Holiday Shop all day every day! I also spent another 10m+ at the stupid box getting 30+ copies of some stuff, a year's supply of wrapping paper and nothing worthwhile. It wasn't until last year I managed to complete the strudel set to feed to my pet.

Tl;dr let the Holiday Shop rot in a burning inferno, all hail the ability to buy what you want, or everything for 15m!

No one thought about the poor users when the HS was alive and kickin' and robbing everyone blind, so paying 15m for everything vs. 15m for one thing puts everyone but restockers in a better place-- and their stomachs should still be full from Keel so I don't have pity there.

My only concern about this buy what you want process is where are the retired Morostide non-holiday shop items going to go? Somewhere, I hope. /slow glance to Quentin....

The only thing I don't like is the shops being open only at certain times. That leaves me with around 2 hours to buy from the "general" shop while later on I'm stuck with the food/booze shops. At this time I only need one more item from the food shop and nothing from the booze shop. So that's going to annoy me even more. I'm sure I'll get everything I want, it's the needing six copies of the books to read to pets that kills me. lol

Also, could there be a way to sort the items into the lists of last years/this years/later years? I hate having to scroll down through the mass of items and trying to pick out what is new. When I went through the other two shops I had to account search every single thing because I couldn't remember if the item was new or old. I didn't need two copies since I was feeding them to Goku.

Arggghh, thissss!!

I'm not a huge fan of the rotating shops either, nor do I really understand the reason behind that + the timer, but I can live with it now that there's at least a alert.

But please can stuff be grouped by year, pleeeease? I spent half an hour shop searching booze last night because SL didn't have them all up yet and trudging through Malik's TC to see what was new is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Segregation by year would make buying so much easier and I imagine retirements, on staff's end, way easier too.

I don't mind the prices. I just wish there wasn't a time limit because since there is no longer free beer (and free beer is now inflated) I need to buy 250 beer items from the shop to give to the drunkard for the achievement XD That's 20 hours of sitting on the computer and making sure I buy an item every 5 minutes... That doesn't include all the other food items I need... TIME LIMITS BOO

Peka-Boo - huge sP sink. New MC items each season - sP sink. Freyalise - sP sink. The February event - sP sink.

There will be more coming up when the next three holidays come around on Subeta. This system is NOT more fair. It&;s worse. Way worse. Having to shell millions of sPs out every holiday makes them unenjoyable. I don&;t need the whole "it&;s easy to make sP on here" either because even though it may be true over some other sites, trying to make millions upon millions of sP back in a short period of time isn&;t easy.
....
This is a classic case of "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer". There isn&;t any fairness to this system. I can understand holiday items being ib the 30 to MAYBE 50k price range each, but pricing items in the hundreds of thousands range is just not fair unless you&;re a multi-billionaire.

I agree with this completely. Fortunately for me I only care about the wears. It's still overpriced ridiculously. 200k and up for wigs on a non-retired, non-subq item? Maybe there don't have to be so damn many sP sinks?

My problem is I have no attachment to this event whatsoever -> don't like to spend sP on the items. With longer, more established events you spend time on the site doing related activities and as a reward earn event money to buy stuff aka more you give the more you get within that time span. With Alegarten you just need to have sP from somewhere and you can get stuff, yay. I don't know if that's part of the issue for op but that's my main problem with events like these.
