The forelegs of the new hikei remind me strongly of a person wearing a horse costume, the hooves are splayed out in a way that would be very sad on a real horse and look as though the pastern is missing so they're oddly flat. It needs a bit of length between hoof and ankle to look less broken. The chest and neck are lovely, with a muscular, compact grace and the hindquarters are very nice, although the belly needs to be tucked in a bit at the hip. I really love the tail, the expanded spheres work very nicely. I do prefer the more sculpted look of the original mane, as well as the almost beaklike look of the original mouth, it keeps it very fantasy oriented.

The bulging muscle in the front legs and chest doesn't really work with the hind legs and round, chubby belly. And the hooves are really awkward; some real horses hooves' curve outwards a bit, but not like this. I'm not partial to the spiked out mane or new pose either. The tail is brilliant, and I like the sharper stripes but overall, I don't like the revamp that much.

Ooohh it's really cute. I really love its face. Maybe some anatomy issues with the two front legs, but otherwise a vast improvement.!

Vast improvement with the quality, but the new one only has one kneecap on the front legs. Very very odd looking.

I think the mane should be more like the Galactic one...
The spikeyness is just odd looking to me x_o

I also think the eyespot should be kept in the same shape too.

I've been waiting for ages for a Hikei revamp, and this is the best they can come up with? It looks like a bodybuilder or something. I seriously think it's one of the worst revamps I've seen yet. Even the sexy feli was better. I really, really hate to be rude, but I'm incredibly unimpressed with this. I think it can be done better.

Nestly: Good luck W! This revamp I think is going to be hard for people to get used to, but the anatomy and shading and such are so much better now while still keeping its cute pony look, so I hope people can come to see that. :3

this revamp I like. Even though I don't own this pet, but the original looks too 'chibi' like. The new drawing looks more appropriate with the other revamps.

overall i actually prefer the new hikei compared with the old one...however, as others have mentioned already, the hooves look oddly positioned to me...they are pointing in the direction a human beings feet would point and therefore gives the impression that, from the shoulders down, the new hikei is the bottom half of a human being wearing a hikei pantomime costume...that is my only issue with the new artwork however and i could probably learn to live with the unusual stance...kudos to the artist...

I think it needs to slim down a little. I like that the front feet are splayed out but I think the hooves need to be fixed.
I think the facial expression would be fine if the face wasn't at that angle, maybe if it look to the left more.

Other than that, it's really cute.
I voted for this one.

I love it, it looks less cute and 'chibi'. I like the tail detailing and the orbs are great. I just think it's a bit too muscular as a whole. I would love to see it with slightly leaner muscles, because the Hikei always reminded me of a zebra but this one looks more like a Clydesdale. Also the orb lineart could be a touch thinner and the back hip/butt could be a bit rounder. But it's a great improvement.

I likie, even though I don't like hikeys and probably won't get one, but artist made really nice job!

I might be wrong, but I think horses front legs look like that.
... I don't really like horses.
But all these revamps have satisfied me.

I voted new, but I think that it would be nice if the mane stayed more in the style of the old one. Also as some people have said, the chest muscles and front legs are a little too bulky for the rest of it. Other than those few points I prefer this one over the other. Great job artist! And as always thanks for letting us vote.

i like the old one best the new one is good but the how the head is turned bothers me, i do like the front legs on the new one though they are spaced weird but the back legs look like a dog or cat

I'm really not fond of the eye spot. Something about it makes the eye look sunken in somewhat, which I don't like. Also, while the foreleg on our left is more dynamic, it doesn't look right anatomically, and the chest region seems to go inwards oddly. Lastly, the hind feet look too small to support the body.
Now that I've got that out of the way, I love the more mature look and the way the tail orbs are more prominent. The coloring is beautiful, especially on the hooves. All in all, I think it's got some problems but a lot of potential. ^^

My apologies for being blunt, but if a horse's front hooves were actually turned that way, it would be a sign of SEVERE conformation issues. Like, completely lame.

Not to mention, the right front is turned outwards, while the right hind is turned in... And the way its neck is turned off to the side to give a profile view of the face and a front view of the chest is... awkward.

Now, with that out of the way, the head and the left front shoulder are awesome. And I like how more attention is brought to the unusual quality of the tail -- before it sort of blended into the background, now you can actually see that it's unusual and interesting. So kudos to that.

But I got to mention it's right/our left hov looks a bit wonky facing a different way compared to the other feet ^^;
And if I can mention another little thing that the front leggs looks a bit thick and it's left/our right how a bit long? I know it's not a horse (obviously |D) , but I just wanted to mention it ^^;;;

But that aside it really looks great, I like the little roughed up fur details, and how it still has that innocent look to it, It's a great revamp! 8D

I like some of the detail work in the newer one - the stripes, the tail, etc. But in general, I still prefer the feel of the old version. The new one looks too...buff?

I love it!, I would change my Chibi for the adult version. WOWSers.. But I would think that front hove should face a little forward especially the closes one foot, other then that, Great job!! I wonder what the chibi will look like? I really love your Hikei the most...

Like always, ill be voting for the new version, as i prefer the art to be consistant, and up to date.

However, i do think this revamp could be quite a lot better.

The chest is looking very blocky to me. Its not rounded, but very square.
The way the stomach is drawn, it makes the back legs look very odd. Shouldnt they stick out further than the stomach by the hips?

For a horse like face, its looking very short. It might be down to the pixel size allowed, but i thought it was worth mentioning.

I might as well say now, i am no expert in horse anatomy, but the front legs are looking very stiff.

As always the art is wonderful, but its quite flawed compaired to some proposed revamps ive seen.

Wow! I was super surprised at this revamp. The only thing I like about it are the glowing orbs. It looks awkward and fat and it's legs are weird and I don't like the ring around the eyes or how the mane is or the mature confident look compared to the sheepish cute look it used to have and I don't like the tail, can't put my finger on it, but it's too fat or too widely spaced or soemthing.

Uh, no. No, no, no, no, no. The pose is awful. The face looks odd, and kind of dopey. The back legs look really weird, and so do the front legs. I'm really sorry, but this is just ugly. I don't like the original at all, but I definitely prefer it over this revamp.

The Darkmatter Hikei looks a billion times better.

I'm sort of torn. It needs the update, I love many aspects of this redraw (chest, front limbs, tail - even the rear legs look fine until the foot)... but the head looks awkward, the mane too short (IMO) and the rear feet look too small. But with only small tweaks I think this is a winner! clicks new

Love the tails (tails?) the expression and the mane and stripes. I never noticed the feet were different before! There is something "off" with the chest and the side but I couldn't tell ya what it is. I'm no artist, lol! I did vote for this one tho.

I voted old because the feet point in totally different directions, which makes it look off in some way.
It looks kind of...fattish, but also muscle-e at the same time, which is really weird.

I also thing the expression look a bit odd/creepy.

I love the tail and orbs though
