This is a really tough decision. I like the Hikei, I really do. I'm leaning towards new, but some things look like they need to be improved first.

The first thing that threw me off is the front legs. They do have a better shape, I think, but there are too many lines and I really think the hooves should be facing the same direction or close to it. The right leg looks awkward the way it is, now. The back right leg looks kind of odd, too, because it's thinner, smaller, and again, has too many extra lines. x.o

The other thing is its side. The way it's shaded makes the body look like a box or something. It makes the Hikei, in general, look more like a figurine carved out of wood...

The mane is cute, though I don't think it needs that many spikes... I don't see anything that bothers me about the head or tail(s), they look wonderful!

For now, I think I won't vote, because the old Hikei is too round, and the fact that it looks like it's standing on its tiptoes bothers me. The new is a good attempt and I like the style, but I'd like to see some changes, before I vote... ^^;

woah more revamps
well, i think this one's better than the old; but...
he's strange o_o
i mean, the muscles are too weird, the right frint paw looks smashed in my opnion :c
the stripes are just amazing!
and the taill
ahhhh i ever wanted the rikei with a tail like that
really, reaaally better;
the mane should be bigger at my point too :c

Voted for the old one, although I don't really like it. In the new one, the pose is very stiff, the patch around the eye makes it look baggy underneath (did it have a late night?), the tails has bubbles around it (why? - if they're drawn on the original, they're less noticeable), the arch of the head reminds me of a hyena (especially combined with the sly looking eye) it's over muscly (hence the stiff looking pose). Wouldn't this have been a great opportunity to have drawn 4 legs the same? I think the different legs look unappealing. Sorry if this repeats others opinions, I write what I think about it first, before I read others opinions.

eehhh.. I don't really like the revamp. Its just odd to look at and unpleasing. Its kind of scary actually. I like the old one because it was cute! X3

The stripes are amazing! : O
The legs could be better, though, I agree. And I think it's cuter with less claws. However I like the face and tail.

I liked how the original had... a mohawk for a mane. Like... they looked like the trojan horse type of thing. I'd like to see them keep that classical inspired look.

Also, the front legs bother me a bit, too.

Other than that, I love the pose! The tail and orbs are wonderful.

i'm not a big fan... first one was much cuter... the front legs look like they are turned too far out... and i'd like it mroe if he was looking towards us as opposed to from the side... just friendly suggestions

Ehh,i'm not one to speak but I didn't really like either of them.
(Although,they both have wonderful designs.)

The revamp is really cute,the only thing that bothers me is the back legs.They seem a tad off.

Other than that,fantastic job!

Thought of something else... I dont like the mane so spikey... I prefer the "straight cut" mohawk-type mane of the old hikei.

I like the splayed forelegs, personally. I think it looks playful.

I wish I knew why, but I honestly am not fond of this one. = I may just be with everyone else. The legs look sort of awkward. I apologize for not being able to explain it. I do LOVE the orbs though.

I thought exactly the same thing!

I actually love everything about it - except the front legs, it really does look like someone is wearing a costume and the big hooves is just compensated for the size of the feet. I just wished that it was more inlined if possible.

Actually, the Hikei reminds me of a zebra/horse hybrid...without the back paws.

Alright, I must say, I love the new Hikei; it's a lot better then the old. But I agree on the legs, which a lot of people already pointed out.

As for the one thing that really bugs me, I'm not sure if anyone else saw it or not; the cheek. It looks...I dunno. It just gives the look that someone punched it so now it's all puffed up x_X;

Maybe it's just me? But I love the art, nontheless <3 Those are my only petpeeves...lawl pun XD

Didn't read everything, but...

Stuff I go ??? about:

The chest seems...off just a bit? Like the legs are just stuck there? I looked up images of real zebras to compare and there is just that tiny bit between the front legs. (And please, none of that "It's a Hikei, not a zebra." stuff. It's the closest thing I could think of that would give me an idea if there should be a space or not.)
The hooves are splayed too much...it's kinda awkward looking. The legs don't seem like they should be able to bend that way. :| I don't think it's the hikei's -left- one that is doing it, it's the right one. (Closest to us) And it may just be the leg that's throwing the chest off.

To make up for picking on the artist a bit, Things I love:
The tail. I -love- the little glow effects on the orbs.
The belly. It's got such a cute belly with just the right pudge. (And I love love love that little bit of fluff on the rear edge by the hind leg. <3)
The expression, I love it because it's very sweet. And the little smile could mean "I'm smiling because I just ate all the flowers in the garden and you don't know it yet."

Oooh, I like it. It'll be much better if the legs are fixed and not so wonky. And the chest a little more pronounced, at the moment it doesn't look like there's a chest there, just front leg.

What I don't like about is the blue outside the eye. Looks like a bit of a black eye, really.

But I do like the orbs near the tail

I think the old one is cuter but the new one is better drawn and has a cooler tail. They need to make a new one that's cute and crisp but with the new tail.

I agree the hikei needs an upgrade, but this one... Not until things get fixed.

The legs are all sorts of funky - the front legs are splayed in a way that no animal could do comfortably, and the back legs seem warped (not just the visable one either, the hidden one connects to the body in an odd place.
the tail seems like it's connected in a different angle from the way the body is facing... it needs to be shifted a little.
I love the head though, it looks wonderful - the mane can stay or leave, it looks fine to me. Although, for consistency's sake, maybe it should look like the original mane.

Okay my first reaction was "Ew o.O"

but now I look at it, I really love it, except... the eye. I do not like the patch around it, I think it looks like someone punched it (if Hikei bruises are teal, that is xD)

Otherwise, I love it, its really cute.

I agree that this is a vast improvement.. but something about the front hooves seems squished.. like someone stepped on his front feet
I'm ususaly not very critical of the new pets or pet colors or redraws.. and so i feel bad for saying this.. but i see i'm not the only one who thinks this..
I still don't know who draws these.. but they do a millions times better then
I could.. so I'm not complaining or anything.. only trying to be helpful
The tail is positively breathtaking and the face looks very equine and adorable.. plz don't touch those

I'm with the ones who say the feet and legs are 'off'. Too angled, and the front ones look like the poor thing has broken down hooves and fetlocks.

Ohh, please don't mess up all my Hikeis. I own no less than four of them X( The new one looks goofy. The legs are all a bit off in the angles. I do like the tails and the hooves are pretty, but the stick out too far forward. I gotta vote for the old one.

The new one is well drawn but may I give one little suggestion?
I like the cute shading design around the eye of the old Hikei. I'm not digging just the plain circle one the new one. The eye design made it special in its own way.
Other than that, its a nice revamp.

I love everything except the freaky front hooves. They don't even remotely remind me of the original, not even faintly. Perhaps they should be altered? Other than that it's wonderful.

The front legs are.... not appealing to me. The knobbly, musculature-not-quite-where-they-should-be legs and the fursuit-looking hooves really throw me off.

Other than that, though, it's pretty good. I love the head, and the rest of the body seems pretty good. :3

I don't know if anyone has pointed it out yet hasn't had time to read comments, but the shading on his side makes the pet look as if it's pointy. It might just be my eyes playing tricks on me, but that is really sticking out.

Also, I can't say I like this. At all. The face and fore legs look completely off. The tail looks nice, though, but that's about all I can see to like in it.

This horse-type pet looks like it has splayed hooves or something, or is bow-legged. Also, maybe a more horse-like face would be nice, something a little less draft-horsey. Other than that, I think its good

I really do not like this version of the Hikei... it doesn't seem to fit the personality of the original at all. The overall pose here looks a bit stiff as well. The whole thing just looks very strange to me and I do not care for it. Please do not change it to this.

because this one looks a little like...a dog?

It is a good start because I like the realism in it, but it needs a little more work <3
