People whined about how the pose looked like the Feli was dragging its rear on the ground, so it had to be done over. Which is kind of fortunate, I think, because I find this one infinitely better. XD

I voted for the redraw over the current image because I honestly think it's better art, but the FIRST word that popped to mind when I saw this was "provocative." I think the pose would be more, em, innocent if it weren't for the line work on the feli's chest.

Hmm. Thing is, most Subeta species aren't actually meant to be real-world species. So whilst we base anatomical characteristics on real world species, generally more than just one or two real-world species are used as references.

I say I've seen my own, and other people's pet cats lie in a pose like this, because I'm trying to point out that physically, it's possible for a similar real-world species to recline in this way. I'm not necessarily saying that the anatomical charactristics of the Feli in this pose, are exactly consistent with the anatomical characteristics of a cat in this pose. But essentially, whilst the Feli does appear to be mostly based on cats, it's still not.. a cat. It's a Feli.

I'm pretty sure most of the special-pose Felis also have aspects to them that aren't consistent with the anatomy of a common household pet cat if the common cat were to be positioned in the same pose. Head size is one of the most glaringly obvious inconsistencies between the Feli and cat species.

I do appreciate the crits people have made in regards to the chest fluff, though. It didn't bother me before people began pointing it out. The edited chest example Dark_shadow posted though, does seem to have some merit to it. C:

I like it, but there are a few set things I just LOVE about the old one :/ Ive been waiting for a feli revamp really, like the chest fur. How it looks all poofy, and like its a totally different texture, while the new chests..looks like it has boobs =3= also feli eyes ALWAYS scared me xDD; they dont look...animal enough. Now that im looking though, I guess besides the..furboobs...the revamp is a lot better then the old.

What bugs me about the pose is mostly the way the hind legs are set. Plus the body seems like it'd be too long if the Feli stood in profile. I'm on the "It looks too humanish." side of this. And I can see where people think the pose looks provocative and must say I doubt it's the result of many dirty minds.

Also, if it gets reposed to look more catlike I put in my vote for a true-cat butt licking pose, leg in the air and all.

I like the revamp of the face and the shading/coloring update, however the pose in general disturbs me. Something sitting or in a playful pose would be better

I think the only special poses that would be redone at the Bloodred (which currently has more of a common pose with the added effects) and the Angelic. Oh, and the Chibi?

I dont care about it, dont like the Feli, neither the old nor the new pose. Which is kinda strange, since I normally love cats.

I like the purple of the new one...shiny without being completely metallic In fact, the coloring is better in general. (In the eyes too...much better.)

However, I like the old one's pose MUCH better. It gave an angellic feel to those little horns poking out the top of the head.

I also don't like the chest fur on the new one. The new one either has human breasts, oddly placed bones, or likes to part its fur in the middle.

Okay, I need someone to explain something to me. How come whenever a pet is revamped, someone ALWAYS says, "It's not realistic enough." (as seen in these comments about the leg) but then someone ELSE turns around and says, "It's not based on realism so arguments about realism don't apply. (Also said below about the arguments) Does nobody realize that the artists meet a happy medium between realism and fantasy? If not, I suggest you lernusum of that.

Ooh la la~ I muchly prefer the new one, even more so than the "old" revamp. It's still got the "sex appeal" (if you want to call it that, or if you simply prefer "feline slinkiness" that works too) of the original, except the anatomy is so much better, and the pose itself just feels a lot more natural.

The only thing that kind of bugs me is that the eyebrows just seem too small compared to the eyes. They should span wider than the eyes themselves, if you want to use human proportions.

...The number of times the word 'sexy' has been said here is kind of hilarious XD But it seems to be all that people are focusing on. Yes, the back legs do look a bit flat and humanish, but that's nothing a little more fluff won't fix. Though the fur cleavage in the front is kind of unnecessary. If that half-inch-long piece of detached lineart wasn't sitting in the middle of the chest, it would still look perfectly lovely and there would probably be a lot fewer 'omg boobs!' comments flying around.
I love the redraw. The style is a lot more up to date and well drawn...my only beef is that...well, the way the front half is positioned, it really looks like the body should be coming out of the other side. I know cats are flexible and all, but this is a little bit of a stretch XD
Overall though, great job! 8D

Reborn is a pet colour that has its own pose, seperate from the common posed colours.

If this revamp goes through, all common, arid, dusk, dawn, field, marsh, sun etc colours will be updated in this pose. DM, BR, RB, Spectrum etc, will NOT have this particular pose. I doubt too many of the special coloured Felis would be affected/redrawn as they're all pretty good as is, actually. It's the oldoldold common pose that's in need of halp. C:

Okay, to all those people that say "I've seen cats sit like that aaaall the time," you are not understanding that it's not just the pose but also the proportions and the anthro looks of this redraw.

Cat legs are much... flatter... looking than the round and almost human-like thighs of the redrawn Feli. Also, the redraw is anthropomorphic, enhancing the sexuality that people are mentioning.

The point is that this doesn't look like a normal real-life cat, so your argument doesn't apply.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this one's pose, shading, expression, etc., just that the old one is so much more beautiful especially the face & eyes. That's the whole reason I wanted a Feli in the first place. If it's changed then sadly I will have to find a different species to change mine into ASAP. Aww

I had to vote the old one. The new one is just kind of "looks nice" in the old one its to adorable. your guys were closer the last time you tried to revamp it.
Also in the new one I don't like how the tail is flowing. the tip should be more away from the head. other wise it makes me think of mewtwo. =/
