Exhibitted: Yeah, I get that. People as a whole are generally split into two parts, though. One part is rude and tactless, and the other part is super nice and friendly. I'm kind of a mixture of both. Like I said, I'm sorry if I offended you, and I totally get what you mean.

Anyone who can visualize better than me: How much of a difference would it make (I'm just curious what other people think) if the left foot was lying on top of the right one instead of tucked behind it?

You know, I voted for the new one because I do think it's better even though I liked the old pose more (don't hate the new one, just prefer the old one). I wonder how the polls would look for things like this if there was an Art poll and a Pose poll for each revamp?

You know, I think some people at least, are just following the crowd in saying some things. Maybe they didn't think 'OMG bewbs' when they saw it, but they do now that they read someone else's comment and looked hard. If you want it to be, you can turn anything into something else. A really good example of that is how some people find a phallic symbol in everything...

Oh, it takes a lot more than that to offend me, no worries. However, staff artists HAVE to look at comments, because it's our job to please a majority of users. In this case, your point doesn't really apply. Either we line it or not, we HAVE to look at it. We can't decide "oh you know it,s just a revamp, so what if people don't like certain parts, the poll is winning anyways".
Technically, I could do that. It would be horribly selfish from me, though.
So yeah, we do sometimes get hurt by the users' critiques, because it always hits me like a truck in the face how some users lack tact. I'm fine with taking critique, just phrase it properly.

Sorry, first thing that went through my mind when I saw it was, "pin-up girl."

I think the pose has potential but... well, it needs to be tweaked to look more like a cat (or other quadruped mammal) and less like a sex kittenl.

Of course people are going to get upset if their art is criticized. It's normal. Especially when there was a lot of effort put into it.

I see what people are saying about the pose, but personally it doesn't really bother me. The middle chest-fur line could probably be taken away though. But what I see off about it is the front part of the body doesn't seem to match with the back half.

I did do a little tinkering in photoshop. I don't know if it's correct as it's not a pose I draw, but it's something I'm just throwing out there..

All I did really was pull in the stomach area (between the foreleg and hindleg) and add a curve to the right side of the body (left side of the picture). I had my dog pose (didn't feel like dealing with the pissy cat) the same way as the feli, and I did indeed get a little bit of the right side showing like I implemented in my touch-up. So perhaps that's what's missing? If not, forgive me, I am super tired and only trying to be helpful.

I think other than the chest fluff and positioning issue, it's definitely an improvement and wouldn't mind seeing it around

I'm an artist myself, and I used to get really upset when people critiqued me, so I was offering advice for you or others who don't want to read negative comments about their art. I don't really feel the need to explain any further, so I won't. Sorry if I offended anybody.

Mythica: My whole point was that it's fine to read comments IF you want to improve the work, but if you just want to complain or joke that people are critiquing it when they have the right to, then don't read the comments. I know Exhibitted wasn't serious in the reply that we're talking about, and I explained the rest in my reply.

Exhibitted: Everybody has their own opinions and they want to express them, so if they share the same opinion as somebody else and express it, then you really can't blame them. Also, I apologize for "making assumptions" about you, but I was also making a general statement to everybody who gets upset when people criticize their art.

I like the pose, just the kitty boobs and the tail dont appeal to me.

Maybe making it like the older revamp attempt, and make the fluff on both sides of the chest, while the tail should arch so much upward, and a little thicker?

O...yes, I think ALL artist feel 'GET THAT AWAY FROM ME!' when it comes to things we've done in the past. I looked at some of my art from when I first got my tablet and think, 'I was proud of THAT?!' Dude, what was I thinking.

But either way Exhibitted still did an awesome job with the revamp. The Feli needed it badly and this really does the species justice.

Excuse my horrid attempt at a critique, I was just messing around. =D I took away the chest fluff and the one wing, shortened his stomach, changed the shoulder a bit, and dropped the tail.

He doesn't exude the "come and get it" to me as much now.

But overall, great work. Even if this is the final redraw, I do like it a lot. =D

I'm not so much complaining, the new one is OK, just making the observation that I fell in love with the Feli because of the face & big gorgeous eyes & this one just doesn't have that. Maybe my Feli Crystalstar would rather be a Tigrean,hmmm.

I like it, the only thing off is the that one line in the fur tuft. It looks quite like boobage and that kinda gets rid of the whole "Male or Female" part.

I'm not understanding the "sexy" part of some users complaints. I don't see it?

Plus as stated, it really doesn't have to look like a cat, it can be based off of a cat but it's not binding.

I read comments and take more critiques than you possibly can imagine per day. I do appreciate critique a LOT, but when something has been said once, it doesn't need to be repeated a hundred thousand times again. Also, not everyone thinks it looks "sexy" or "coming to get you omg breasts". While I AM willing to change some of the parts(doh!), you need to know I cannot take every single critique. I would like it very, very much if you didn't make false assumptions about me
Plus, I was talking about the old revamp.

And I'm not upset. This whole thing makes me laugh SO much. XDD

I like the way Lina drew the old Feli. Nothing personal against the new one. Just that I love Lina Blades artwork and the Feli is one of her best ones! So I say keep the old one.

That's a pretty stupid comment to make, DesertSonata. We allow users to make comments and provide feedback on polled revamps for a reason; so we can glean as many minor required tweakings as possible, just in case the staff missed some during the creative process thusfar.

Jag's more than entitled to explaining why she's drawn certain things certain ways, and defend some of the decisions she made whilst drawing this revamp, if she feels that those decisions were the right ones.

She's also more than entitled to being ashamed of older work she's done, even if it is still lovely work. XD Most artists DO feel bashful about their older work. :/

AWW. VERY cute. The art is nice and it's certainly quite an improvement. However, it seems a little too anthropomorphic to me. That's my only real complaint.

I honestly didn't mean to drag this up as "omg I want this revamp instead!". Its still an open poll and I was under the impression that it was still in the stages of being tweaked and it was just taking ages, much like Malticorn revamp.

I can't go back and edit the post, but if you feel the need to delete the picture I posted, feel free.

Prima8886, people would find something new to complain about I'm sure, but if a large number of people are complaining about the same thing rather than a bunch of different things why not consider doing something about that one thing?

And I don't think too many people are actually complaining. I'm criticizing perhaps, but not complaining. If they changed the Feli to this revamp right now I'd be fine with it, I just wouldn't like it as much as I could like something that looked a little different. I think the same goes for a number of people here. I don't see too many making only negative comments.
