New Shops - Gold Account Testing

Attention, Gold Account users! We have a new feature for you to test--revamped Shops and Galleries!

The user shops and galleries have been rewritten because they currently put a huge stress on our database, and it's affecting the ability of the site to function.

For the new shops and galleries, we’ve set limits for how many items you can have in each, which means we’ll be retiring the Super Shop! and Hoarder! achievements. Currently the limits are as follows: you can have 250 unique items in a shop, and 500 in a gallery. This limit doubles to 500 in a shop, 1000 in a gallery if you have a Gold Account. These limits are only for unique items, you'll be able to have as many duplicates as you'd like.

Your items won't disappear if your Gold Account expires while over the limit, you just won't be able to add any more until you have either sold/removed enough items or have an active Gold Account again. You can have up to 3 shops/galleries, or up to 6 with a Gold Account. We anticipate being able to raise these limits significantly, but we wanted to start off small and increase rather than starting off big and having to reduce it.

Gold Account testing for will be active until 11:59pm on April 16th. The new user shops/galleries will be released to everyone on the 17th. Once the new shops are live, you will not be able to add anything new to your old shops!

On April 24th, all old shops will be disabled. You’ll still be able to remove items from them, you just won’t be able to reprice items or have other users purchase from it.

The Super Shop! and Hoarder! achievements will be retired on the 17th once the shops/galleries go live for everyone.

Information and a link to the new shops can be found here if you're a Gold Account member. will start pushing changes/fixing bugs on the 13th, so keep that in mind as you submit feedback. We will continue to make any necessary changes once shops/galleries are live for everyone to make sure they’re working to their full potential!

We know this will be a big change for a lot of people, but it's a crucial step for the continued improvement and success of the site, and for your overall user experience.

I have 4k worth of unique items in my gallery, I want to display these things, What about users who have spent literal thousands of dollars on csc to make a cw gallery only to get to this point and be told hey screw you you can't show them anymore??? I think this is a really bad idea :/

I just hope all these programming changes and pressure to the server (people moving stuff from shop to vault) won't make our items disappear. Guard your valuables, people!

Honestly, I'd rather see limits on duplicate numbers than on unique ones. There are some items I'd like to keep around just because they are cute or I like them for whatever reason. I doubt I'll ever have one of everything on the site, but I don't want to feel like I shouldn't buy a certain item just to have without using it because I have nowhere to put it.

*Also agreeing with everyone on the Quick Removal option. Not going to go into crazy detail because everyone else already has and I didn't even understand this whole thing until someone just explained it to me and now I'm just tired thinking about it Lol

Vaguely saying shops will receive a limit in the distant future is not sufficient warning. Neither is nine days of having completely informed all of us. It IS news.

The more I think about this the more frustrated I get. Like, I understand the theory behind doing something like this, but this big of a change that's announced 10 days before it actually happens is a pretty crappy way of going about something that will affect the way people play this game. I dont know about anyone else, but the way I do it is I have one shop with all of the items I want to get rid of. That shop has thousands of UE's in it just by casually questing, I'm not even hoarding. Every few months I autoprice it and let it accumulate SP. So now we have 10 days to pick and choose which 750 items we want to put in the 3 separate shops and then reprice all of them by hand if you dont have a GA. This is a mess.

Limit the shop numbers, alrighty, but limit items while releasing more and more? Maybe we chould have a main shop with unlimited items and a main gallery? The other shops/galleries could be limited then?

Am I going to have to hand delete things? Because otherwise, hand pricing daily is -- the best word I can find is unreasonable for anyone who doesn't want to kill their wrist. Either autopricing becomes something that goes to all users, or getting items from quests will have to be reworked, and that was always a pretty significant part of sp income /from/ quests.

I've been on this site for 1 year 4 months. I've been on siteupdate since the first week.

The only reason I heard about this is some user who had been on for over 6 years told me that this had been mentioned at some point in the past. That's not being kept informed.

lmao i'm sorry but those numbers are ridiculously low. just maxing out your vending for a day would fill up your shop? i don't even bother with gold accounts and autopricing unless i have at least 1000 items in my shop.

I mean... I don't even have that many items for sale, I don't think, but I have 800+ unique items for sale and that's AFTER selling a bunch. I really hope they increase the limits, but it sounds like they will. Can we also get an update to vaults please in this case? I use a gallery for simple item storage, simply because working with stacks in the vault is just annoying. Either remove one at a time or all of a stack or some hassle with quick vaulting. If we could get a similar scroll down or item input in vaults, it'd be so much easier.

I'll see how this plays out, but... So far, I'm not too happy.

One more reason not to quest.

Solution: How about updating the servers? I'm sure the cdub community puts in enough to buy 2 new Dell rack servers.

They announced a couple years ago that they would be making this shift. It's not new news.

I generally agree with what you said, but you should know that this information has not been kept a secret. They announced it a long time ago, there have been many discussion threads on it in the regular forums, and members of the siteupdate group have been kept in the know along the way, more or less.

Well, this is going to be just swell to offload to my inventory just so I can then go back to Quickstock to push into a vault... which seems like it would also bog down the site, guys.

As a 10 plus year member this is extremely upsetting - good for the site but rots for the users. My minion gallery has 3140 items, my hoarder gallery has 10,349; 3 other shop / gallery have over 1000 each. This site is item driven which makes this a cruel joke for me.

I just want myself be clear: I don't care for the achievements and I also agree that a limitation of shops and galleries might be necessary, but the numbers suggested in the post are ridiculous! Although I just threw out most of my hoards, I still come far over that numbers, even with auto-pricing and the strict limitations for non GA members is outright outrageous! Taking away one shop or gallery from everyone is just... so unfair! The limits should stay with four without a GA, what's the count most people already have and the item limit should double in both cases. That way silly big hoards would still be lessened and the shop sizes would be limited too but it wouldn't be too hard to adapt.

My gallery right now has 6.6k unique items in it, apparently, according to the shops page. Does this mean I'll need to make 6 galleries to contain them all with a gold account? I'm just trying to understand the new restrictions...

makes an excellent point. This doesn't mesh with mass vending at all.

Yeah, you can put the items in multiple shops, but over time all those can still fill up and you won't be able to autoprice the items all together since GAs only give you one free daily autoprice. I guess we're expected to pay out of pocket to autoprice multiple shops daily, then? If so, not many people will be vending or doing anything that involves mass reselling.

I just got the 15k wardrobe achievement too so I was starting to transfer things into my galleries. This was one of my favorite things about subeta...being able to collect items somewhat easily and display them all. There's not much of a point in having them if they just sit in your vault...

And also voicing what some others have: what is the point of autopricing if you can only have a max 500 items WITH a GA? That's 5 pages. You can go through and hand price that incredibly easily.

Retiring achievements I'd been slowly trying to get and capping user shops off at 250 items? At the moment this news kind of sucks. I hope the non-GA cap gets raised enough, at least. I don't have the money to keep buying GAs.

well. multiple things. i like the change. but there are small things. glad the limits will change later, obviously. but um. since some of these are being transferred directly, can we at least have an easier way of selecting multiple items to remove from shops? also.. maybe when we go to our current shops and click delete, you can have the new shops there as an option for transfer. though obviously with the limit this would be problematic.. hmm. im just saying, its gonna be a rough adjustment for almost everyone. but its a good idea overall. good call. if this cuts down on errors with our shops/searching via wishlist, i am all for it. just help us get there.

For a site that keeps adding new items every few days and they're a huge part of game in general, limiting the number of items we can have is... incredibly frustrating, the say the most polite thing. What to do with items that will exceed the limits? Shoving them into a vault? How fast will that start to affect servers? And kinda... what's the point of it then?
