Anyone up for a word tonight? Let me know and we'll set one up!
, okay xD Just making sure! I hope you get the words you want in today. I have been reading "No plot, no problem" written by NaNo's creator and he says reward yourself often with treats (like suggests). I haven't actively been doing that, but I did win an almond roca from a local sprint and that was super delicious. Maybe subconsciously an incentive xD
I am so down for a war. My chat is so dead tonight and I need to push out some words. I was at work all day :x
Awesome! Let's say 20 at 9:40? Join here: https://nanowrimo.org/gws/T9GlDokP6ZtKtqX6CleIQw
I just did a solid 30 minutes of writing, so now I've got candy corn and I'm watching a Drawfee video haha Local sprints sound super fun, I'm glad you won! but my closest group is Chicago and that's at least an hour travel for me. I'll be up for a war in a little bit!!!
Ooh good job ! Is 9:40 too soon? We could wait til 10?
Okay :) we'll plan on 9:40
Nice job ! I got 352 but my mom called xd
Wow! That's awesome!
That's still some good progress!
That was fun! I got to my goal for the day, I'm excited!
Missing all the fun. My goal is to write 2k before I go to bed, bringing my total word count to just under where it should have been on day 2! lol.
You can do it! The catch up game is tough but it's possible! Currently I'm a little less than a day behind, but I've made great progress yesterday and today!
- I'm usually playing the catch up game. I don't think I've ever been this far behind and finished though OTL. But it's early yet, I can pace myself, getting extra bits here and there where I can, I hope! (also, I don't know that episode of spongebob, I've seen like 3 episodes and decided that it wasn't a show for me)
After 26 hours our power is back on!! Going to focus on hitting my word count for today and keeping one day ahead.
a pen and paper worked for a bit but it was hard to write because it was so cold! lol
Morning NaNos!
I’m playing the tortoise this year, slow and steady wins the race. How about you? How’s your race going?
My goal this year was to win the badge for posting my word count 30 days in a row, kind of like visiting Melody everyday during Luminaire or The Baths 30 days in a row. What are your incentives?
How do you reward yourself? I reward myself each day with a front porch sit and a mug of coffee. For every 10,000 words, my mate Welly let’s me read to him what I’ve written. Small rewards go a long way to keeping me motivated. Do you think it’s important to give yourself rewards?
Let me encourage you to keep at it. Maybe you’re a tortoise, maybe you’re a hare (he finished too!) the important thing is to get your story out and to be proud of your efforts.
Well its good to make progress at the very least! My partner is doing nano this year but his goal is just to write every day, he doesn't care to make the word count!
That sounds like a lovely system you have there! I usually reward myself with youtube videos or time on subeta. Today I've got a nice to do list that includes some sprints and donuts hahaha
I've got a few rewards... At 20k words I'm going to get a bottle of my favorite wine <3
- Yay power! Boo cold :( Yeah, if I lost my furnace for 24 hours, I'd probably freeze, I don't have a fireplace or anything, I'd probably have to live in my car.
- That's so nice that you have someone who will sit down and listen to what you wrote! I should see if I can get any of my friends to do that, I think that would be good motivation for me. I've often sent the text version, but they never seem to get around to reading it. I try to do littler rewards, like if I write 500 words, I can have a chocolate bar, but then I just eat the chocolate bar and don't write. lol. I have no self control.
- I got to 3k words last night, not quite to 3333 but pretty close, so that made up some ground. Hopefully I can do that again tonight. Tonight's writing will be harder though, last night I was just making a brief list of characters, their names/personalities and their role in the story. Tonight, I'm getting down to the meat of things, the real planning! Once that gets settled, the rest ought to be easier. I tried to do the 'write every day' goal for camp, but that never really worked out for me either.
