So far so good on my first year ever really trying this.
I can't seem to get ahead, but I haven't got behind yet either so... we'll see.

Yeah! Let me know if you're around this morning, I'm going out in a couple hours ^_^
Just in case anyone is around, I'm doing 15 minutes starting now (or whenever you see this!)
Trying to hit 10k words today... Procrastinating to the fullest though. :|
We have another coming up! It's hosted by my regional ML, at xx:45! Join us :D https://nanowrimo.org/word_sprints/47243
Great job with your stories so far!
And another! Starting now! (4:30!) https://nanowrimo.org/word_sprints/47352
Thanks, I tried to do the 3:45 sprint and halfway through it got distracted and only now un-distracting myself. so .... uh... I don't think I know how to 'sprint' lol
Haha focus I think is the big idea behind sprints xD but as long as you're upping your word count, I find that to be a successful sprint! Thanks for joining!
- It's Kiaarra on the nano site as well (either that or kia-arra) I haven't 'announced' my novel yet. I don't think I'm going to work on just one thing this year anyway. I wrote about 1000 words today, so I've started lol. I'm a come from behind person though. I have some time tomorrow to write after work, hopefully I'll be nice and productive then. I wanted to be more productive tonight, but I've got a migraine. :( Seeing everyone else's word counts already is rather depressing :( I can't believe we're already 4 days into November.
I've got something mildly resembling a beat sheet figured out for my story now. This week I've got a thing I have to get done for RL that is gonna take pretty much all the time I can devote to it... I have until Thursday morning, and by then it'll be my "work week" again, since I work weekends. After that (on like the 12th or 13th), I might be able to start writing a really rough draft... I'm kinda planning on just writing scenes, that may or may not work together, but might at least provide good inspiration for the next draft. I may even write a few different versions of scenes.
I don't know if I'll try to make my writing "official" participation or not. I don't even know if I'll even get a chance to write. I'm still hoping to be able to do something with my story this month.
I just hit 12k and am about to head to bed but I'm so pleased with my progress this year I felt I had to share it. I haven't felt this good about a new project in years. I have a story and a plot that I enjoy and although my characters are running away from me, they are doing so with clear intent and I love it. So far my characters are Maeron, Syrilon, Arius, Imorie, Brenya, and Amie (named after my roommate because she wanted to be in my story lolll). Arius was supposed to be an antagonist with good intentions but ... by day two he was a good guy. He just didn't want to be a villain, I suppose!
I hope everyone else's projects are exceeding expectations as well!
I was on track to hit 10K yesterday and then my power went out. It’s been out for almost 24 hours and they are estimating another 9-10 hours for it to be fixed.
I’m glad I was able to get ahead and I’m trying not to get discouraged. ? I hope I haven’t lost too much steam.
- Those unforseen circumstances are the worst! Good ol' pen and paper time? I hope they get the power back on for you! If it makes you feel better, I'm sitting at about 1,2k total. OTL
I'm sitting right around 5k right now, trying to push through. Focus is a huge issue for me! What are your secrets??? I see that some of you are up around 10k already!! :o
I passed out and didn't do any writing after work yesterday, so I've got some catch up to do today. internal screaming
My hands are sore and my fingers feel like they're going to fall off and my head hurts... so, anyone up for some today? :P
-- are you the same user as deadcharlie on Nano? Or is this just a crazy coincidence? :P I can only move ahead with lots of sprints.
Sprint at 6:30 for 20 min! Join here: https://nanowrimo.org/gws/OBPUKJHTyuO4xkvcT1OorA
- The trick is to just write and never delete anything, if you write something you don't like, leave it, strike it out, re-write it, but never delete! lol. And just write. Nano is more an exercise of putting words on the page and learning/growing as a writer than it is about writing a novel. If you really want to write a novel and be published etc. you're going to need a lot of re-writing and editing anyway, so leave that to december!
Thanks so much for doing one with me :D
Glad you started your novel yesterday ! Yay!
I got 412 words done during that one. :P
No, my un on nano is CharliesNOTDead, same as here! I think sprints are whats best for me too. I'm trying to buckle down and do em!
Yeah that's what I'm doing. I just have such a hard time focusing! I'm so easily distracted. I feel like that episode of Spongebob haha
