Good job ! Yes I was thinking there was a forum group, but now I'm not sure , do you remember if we used to use or did we have an actual sprint group that's now gone? Let's plan a sprint tonight around 9pm EST, if that's not too late.
: A word-sprint for 9:00EST would be great. I'm also attending a Live Meetup at our local library for the Central California NaNoWriMos around that time. So I can catch two mice with one pounce.
If there isn't a NaNoWriMo forum group, you could start one for this forum. I would join.
- wordwar still seems to work, not sure who all is still in that group though. 9pm EST is when I get off work, so I won't be able to join until after I drive home.
- Congrats! I tried to do Inktober and Nano last year, and I failed both, so this year just doing Nano. I still have no idea what to work on though. I really need to work out an more indepth plan for my novel before just throwing words into it. That hasn't really worked in the past.
I think we still have as well for just general nanowrimo stuff.
Ah yeah sorry XD I wasn't thinking about the general group, yes , you can join # NaNo.
We can do one at 9pm and one at 10pm if you could make that later one ?
- Sounds good to me!
We'll be doing word sprints at 9pm and 10pm EST tonight!
[edit] Starting in 10ish minutes! If you want to join in, post your word count before/at the hour, and then again xx:10! Let's see who can get the most words.
And my prompt: does your character need a drink? Maybe so! A nice stiff drink, a cold glass of milk, or warm cocoa?
I'm at 2608! And... go! :D
Okay I got 2946, and my character stopped for a drink at the water fountain. ^_^ Hope to see someone in 50min for 10pm!
https://nanowrimo.org/participants/lumille-tre here is my profile!!
Glad to see a thread going. I'm so excited!
If you want to add my profile to the OP, the link's in my signature :)

Great will add you super soon!
Next is now! 15 minutes this time; post your word count to join.
I'm at 3494 ^_^
And can you use the word "facilitate?"
Yay! 1034 words in 15 minutes. (I started at 9:45 PM EST because of a family emergency, granddaughter turned up missing after school and has been missing now for four hours. Eventually found at a friends house,)
Yay thanks ! Great job--that sounds like its own story right there. I'm glad she was found safe and sound! I'm at 4020, so only 526 words xD
And I couldn't find a place to use "facilitate", FWIW!
I just managed 508 words. Quite a sad scene as well :/
Aw ! Good job though. Sad scenes make me write slower :(
I don't know why but I find them easier to write. I suppose it's because there's so much emotion and I get really sucked in. My novel has such a variety of things happening that I can pick and choose what to write depending on my current mood lol
I got 2106 tonight. I'm done for...too much stress. I had fun though, even though I couldn't use the word facilitate.
What are your characters names? I have a family of Black-footed Ferrets. Benji and Margo are the parents, he is a Journey-Level III Wainwright, she is a Journey-Level III Mine Engineer.
Their first litter has Rose, a Journey-Level I Mine Engineer, Penny, a Journey-Level I Needle Crafter. Griffin, a Journey-Level I Blacksmith
The second litter has ; Elzie, and apprentice Healer Fritzie, an apprentice Researcher and Scribe Jan, an apprentice Music-Lorecrafter. Sabine a Journey-Level I Wainwright, entering a second apprenticeship as a apprentice Founder. (melts metal)
- Got stuck at work late. Ranted at my boss about my shitty receptionist, because this is NOT the first time she has tried to shove 2-3 extra patients down my throat last minute without actually having the availability on the schedule. Super not in a mood for writing as a result. :( Not a great start to nano. Maybe I'll still get something hashed out tonight, even if it's just my thoughts towards a plan or whatever. Ugh. I wanted to get home, have a few minutes to collect my thoughts, and then write with everyone, but now I just wanna throw things or punch things.
So sorry to hear ! Mediocre coworkers just suck. :( Hopefully you can repurpose that anger into writing, or just call it a day and start fresh tomorrow. Missed you!
Wow, love your names and all their jobs :P I feel like I'm in an mmo. My characters are Kelly, Nate, Charlie and Grandma Sarah. SO exciting, right. I don't put too much time into names, but a friend does have a giant bible of names and regional names, etc and I think it's pretty interesting to see ;)
I'll try to join one of the writing prompt things some time. Mostly I just write when I have a moment.
Named characters so far appearing in person in my story are named Sev, Maureen, Constance, Megan, and Nick. There's also Adrian Shaw who was heard on the phone talking to Sev. Other characters have been mentioned: David (Maureen's dead husband), Mason (Megan's biological mother, currently at work). Mason is the protagonist of the nano novel, at least as planned. But I'm writing it from other characters' viewpoints. Chapter 1 was Sev viewpoint. Chapter 2 is Constance's viewpoint and then Nick's.

Hey guys! Joining in the character name discussion, I'm writing a Celestia-centric MLP:FiM fanfiction so my main focus characters are already named for me, but I've named a few of the castle servants in the process of writing. So far I have a handmaid named Bluebell and a chef named Chiffonade. :D
I'm using the fanfiction as sort of a warm-up to get me back into writing before I dive back into original works, as I've just been out of the swing of writing the past few years. Partly because when I went to revise a rough draft for book one of a series, some of the dynamics between two of the characters were eerily reminiscent of something that had just happened with a friend I lost. It felt like past me was trolling me and put me off the project, heh.
- Yeah, just need to write 3333 words today, doable right? Only Fridays are generally writing write-offs cus work is usually super busy, and afterwards I chill with friends usually until late, so.... I'll just have to write 5000 words on saturday... totally doable.... right??
