Welcome to the end of October (official plotting season?) NaNo's well on its way.
Are you plotting your new book? Planning to just run with a spark of an idea? Let's share what we're working and support each other for this year's 50k words!
I'm looking forward to reading "Save the Cat! Writes a Novel" prior to NaNo starting—do any of you have book or resources you'd want to share?

I'm just as unprepared as always. No idea what to do this year. There's still time...
I'm looking to get 50k out this year, but not necessarily on the same story. I mean, ideally, since I'm tackling a huge thing, but I know I'll burn myself out on that thing if I focus solely on it and I figure knowing my limits is important, haha. Unconventional definition of NaNo, I suppose, but I'm gonna take it. ;)
I was talking to someone who wrote a bunch of short stories for NaNo last year and is using one to inspire her novel this year :) I'm sure it will be great!
Ha yes, usually I have no idea either ;)
I have a project that was originally for Camp NaNo that got abandoned due to having a funeral to attend and other unexpected things that month. I'm planning to pick that back up and if it's not long enough for 50k I may do bits and pieces of other projects, too. We'll see.
I'm participating! The previous two times I got burned out really fast (and I was basically pantsing it), but hopefully this year will be different. I just need to juggle between working on the novel and research papers for school >.>

I'm actually a first year ML this year so I feel wholly underprepared for my actual novel since I've been so busy setting up write-ins and such lol
- Good Luck! Being an ML can be both stressful and fun, I hope your experience is the latter. If you need any support or ideas don't hesitate to ask me. I always forget to sign up as an official helper, but I do help my MLs run events a lot.
- Too much and too little to work on :P
I really wanted to participate this year. I have a story I want to work on and the timing just seemed so perfect. Unfortunately, everything has just kept piling up on me. I haven't had time to work on a beat sheet this month and November's already got an overwhelming list of RL stuff I'll need to accomplish. I am not a pantster... especially if I'm working under pressure. I have to have worked the story down before hand 'til it is basically just fill-in-the-blank.
Up until a couple days ago, I thought I might get a plan pulled together over the weekend and the first part of next week. But they went and released even more Morostide opponents. I just... I've gotta pick what I'm doing with my down time, and I'm gonna go with the one I think I'll enjoy the most. Battling is generally more fun than hammering out beats... (There are a handful of scenes I know I want in the story, but figuring out where they belong, what comes before and what comes after... that's gonna require some work to really pin down.)
I will be attempting NaNo this year. Rather excited. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to do my original story - that I know I won't get finished - or a Fanfic that Has a start, characters and a more likely end. I am towards the fanfic.

Hello everyone!
My novel is like... halfway planned :D Gonna work on that tomorrow :)
LadyLola is my profile! <3
Thanks for sharing your profile! I added you as a buddy ^_^
, I never even heard of beat sheets until this year. (Hooray for regional group meetups with people who know what they're doing!) I hope you're able to get it all out of your head sometime :)
, thanks for being an ML!
I've kinda been scribbling some notes about the concept (on two pieces of notebook paper that would probably only amount to a half page in Word)...
I've basically got the general character arc figured out. I've also decided on the basic style of narration: third person subjective dual POV, with chronologically linear alternating scenes. Because I usually stick to single POV, I'm not sure how much my *self-made beat sheet is actually going to help me. (*I've taken different elements from different methods along with directional questions from a couple different books and just mashed it together in a way that made sense to me.) If I can get some RL stuff done in a timely manner and I don't feel too terribly tired, I might look into that tonight.
Even though I don't feel like I'll have it together enough to officially participate, I think I'm gonna try to figure out some other goal system and unofficially participate as much as possible. LOL
I've added you as well :)
And added my word count to my signature! Things are getting real now!! :D ;)
Got all my write ins set up (although my co-ML is still being a frosty lil lady) and was finally able to do a bit of brainstorming for my novel! I wish I had more time to plan but my roommate and I foolishly decided to host a halloween party tonight and I'm doing an online count down tomorrow night so...whoops?
Woohoo :) Last day before NaNoWriMo! I had a meetup with our local area yesterday with a potluck and good stuff. I'm still not past my first act as for planning, but hopefully it comes to me. Have a great party !
Aaand we're a go! Good luck everyone! I got a good little 1700 word start, since i have to work the whole first day. Hoping I can climb ahead this weekend in case I struggle during black friday and thanksgiving (thanks, retail).
my first time trying it. because I'm on a writing kick so why not. I've been sort of mulling over something about 50k-ish length for the last couple months so I'm going to try to write it. haven't got much of an outline but I have a general idea and well developed characters (used almost all of them in previous stories) so I think it'll be ok.
I wrote just over 1k words tonight in about an hour from one of the bad guy's pov. He is a terrible person.

7:30 am and after getting husband ready for work and dogs and cats fed, I'm at 391 words :D
Happy NaNo everybody!!
: I'm in again this year. This will by my 12th year (!) and I'm continuing the Glen Meadow Chronicles with a new novel. Sabine: The Bell Master is about the youngest and smallest of Benji Redfern's offspring, who is born mute. She overcomes many difficulties, prejudice, bullying and war to become the most beloved character in her tribe. Everybody loves her for her kindness, sweet nature, tenacity and of course, her bells.
Is there a Forum Group for Subeta NaNos so that we can get pinged in the event this group has an event (like a writing challenge?) If so, could you let me know?
Good Luck NaNos! I just finished Inktober 2018 and now I'm doing NaNoWriMo...I'm either nuts or retired...HAR
