I don't use twitter a lot. I definitely use it more during NaNo than otherwise. :P The rest of the year it's just... sharing links to my DeviantArt, mostly. Haha.

Just write whatever's in your head. You can decide in later rewrites if you left something relevant out or if you included something superfluous. I've definitely written a lot that I'm already kicking around ideas in the back of my mind about changing! I just make a note of it and keep going.

I got in my 1667 for the day so I think I'm going to read week 2 of No Plot, No Problem before I have to return it to the library tomorrow. (Also my hands think not typing sounds amazing!)

I feel that! I literally just ended a paragraph with "UGH" and moved on because I hated it so much but I didn't want to undo it haha It is words, and later on I may read it back and not remember why I hated it so much. The worst thing for me though is the inconsistency! Like I'll think of something as I'm writing that I would like to change, but I already referenced it before in a different capacity.

That's still a good amount! I feel like if you're getting that and backtracking then you're still making good progress!

I've still got about 200 words to crank out tonight. I need to stay ahead of the game because I have a feeling it's gonna get tough for me really soon.

- No humming and hawing, if you are trying to decide between different directions or choices or anything, just write both and see which feels more 'right' And don't go back and delete the one that didn't work out, leave it, you may want to use some of it later.

Unlike you, who have been working in the same universe, but different stories for nano's past, I'm still stuck writing the same story unsuccessfully. OTL This year I'm just making a thorough detailed plan. The story isn't meant to be 50k words by a long shot, it is meant to be significantly longer, but just dragging it on with no real direction isn't working, so I'm trying something else, and hopefully with a solid plan, the writing will actually be intruging, and not a bunch of blah.

So if you remember from one of my past nanos, I'm writing a fantasy story about my MU who was in a coma for 2 years and regains consciousness but doesn't have any memories. That's the main one I'm working on hashing out this year. I'm also partially working on stories for my subeta pets on the side.

I'm moving along, I still don't have the hang of sprints, but what I'm doing is working for me so far!

about a quarter of the way done and about a quarter of the way through what I think is the plot, so it's good enough 💙

Thinking of things that you'd like to change -- I am doing that too... since I figure I could always do a second draft, I'm allowing myself to change things in mid stream, I go back and make a note at the place where the old version was to change it, and move on with the new version. Retcon mid stream. Like for example I wondered why my one rich character didn't hire a bodyguard so I just went back and made a note for her to hire one and then wrote as if the bodyguard was there all along starting wherever ;)

That's a good idea, and definitely what I'm going to do for the end of my book. I have two very distinctive ideas for how it should end, and so far I haven't been able to chose.

That's sort of what I've been doing. It just bugs me! I'm detailed oriented haha It looks like you're on the right track with your pacing! Good for you!!

I'm writing a new story, and it's a sequel to a long story I just finished in late October that is close to 100,000 words long.

But, to make the plot work and have ready characters, I am using a lot of the setup from a story I wrote 15 years ago (which itself was a reimagining of the story from an IRC RP I played/wrote in 1998) and didn't get that far in. I found most of the chapters I wrote for it (one is lost) and just took those characters and made them into the various antagonist factions for my nano story :) So in a way it's a re-re-write of an old story too, even while it's a new one!

Today was hard but I made a little progress. I mean, I wrote words, but the story is not moving at the pace I'd like. But it's ok.

- Some is better than none. Pacing is always hard, especially in the nanowrimo setting. But making the words happen, that is good. I didn't get anything written yesterday (fridays really are the worst) Trying to make up for it with 4000 words today, but ended up playing pokemon and cleaning my house instead. I'm the best at procrastinating. Still got tonight though, we'll see how much I get done. So far I think 80% of my writing has been done between 1am and 4am though, so I'm totes still on track to get 4k today, right?
