HI Beth! Yes I love being back with the kids. (even won't ever shut up Jason lol) And even am enjoying my classes so far. Just don't like writing papers :P

Today - my ex came over and switched out fans and put the new fan in my bedroom, and the fan that was in my bedroom into the middle room. Nutjob left TWO parts off my new fan (not necessary parts thankfully but covers - oh well). Then tried to leave the old bracket/fan motor cover in the middle room, but even tho it fit, the fan blades would NOT turn...so he had to take that one off completely and do it over :P Then after I thanked him for doing it, he teased me that I could take him out to lunch (it was 1230), so I looked at him and asked where he wanted to go :P Then he took ME to the Corner Cafe for lunch LOL His treat not mine. Although I drove us there. His girlfriend was up here with him. He came to Griffin to go to the Dr clinic here for his medical card and she rode along. I figured she would. Never was super thrilled about being around her, but you know, hes my EX and he's being nice and doing things for me, and if ever we did have grandkids for real, well she'd be involved so I'm trying to get along with her (I do really get along with her, its not like I hate her or anything but its just a bit weird getting to know your ex's girlfriend I guess).
Now I have to go work on that dang paper. And do housework. I need to vacuum, shampoo, sweep, mop, wipe the table and counters, finish the dishes (at least Nathan loaded/unloaded the dishwasher). And by sometime tomorrow I'll have to do laundry - and I want to wash my bedding and will at least get the top blanket washed - its covered in cat fur now :P
edit 420 Ok two hours, not bad for a quick paper :P I probably should have spent more time on it, but it's not that hard to compare two curriculums. Not sure I really "compared" them, but I did describe each curriculum and then did my final paragraph of which I prefer and why. I had to explore Montessori and The Creative Curriculum (for Infants, Toddlers and Twos). I think I would like the Creative Curriculum, because it has so many online resources and aids. (such as online observation recording and then gives prompts to help develop the next skill set) after all, in this day and age, if anyone has a question, we "google it" :P So why not apply that to helping children learn? The KIDS don't get online, but it provides so much information and ideas for learning activities to the teachers. Although, it is something you have to purchase, which makes me sad. And because of that I really couldn't find a LOT of good information about it. But enough that I felt able to complete the paper and to know I like the idea of the program.

kat, it must be awkward to have him around, even without her. And I bet it's awkward for her to be around you, too, even if you don't want him anymore :P So just weird all allround!
Made Lily and Iz wash their sheets and blankets yesterday, it was a good day to hang them out on the line. That's literally all we did though, Alex made ribs, I somehow took two hours worth of naps LOL. And still only went to bed half an hour later than normal?!
We did NOT go to church today, but we'll go to the pumpkin patch and then Sunday dinner. I'm watching church online :P
I love the IDEAS behind Montessori, letting kids be in charge of themselves, letting them do things themselves, etc. I think it's a great idea. But it is HARD to do :P
No, honestly, it's not too awkward for me to have him around. It's weird yes. And weirder when she's here yes. Probably is awkward and weird for her too. But there is literally no one else I can ask for help with stuff like that. (unless I pay for it)! I mean, I could try and do it myself and one day I probably will, but for now, if he's willing to help, and he always says "call me if you need me" - he's said that since the day he moved out - and its NOT weird to him - because his step-dad (who raised him since he was 2) was like that with his mom when they divorced, they lived in a small town, and had 2 girls younger than him, so if she needed anything done around the house for herself or the kids, step-dad just popped over and did it. So its normal to him at least :P I also think that as more time goes on, the more we grow into the "new" relationship we have - of being divorced, but friendly...able to do things together (which as I said, will be helpful when we have grandkids - can you imagine a birthday party where the grandparents hate each other but still always come and make things tense? NOT something I want to do - nor is making my kids have TWO birthday parties, or having one of us over at a different time to see the grandkids for birthday or holidays or whatever - not when we can just get along and do things together, especially for those situations)
Yes Montessori is a great idea. And works well for some, especially if you can be dedicated to it. But I think it would be very hard for me to do, because I am used to helping the kids do what needs to be done, so we can get where we need to go (you need your shoes tied, we don't have time for you to do it yourself, I am doing it, we HAVE to get to lunch on time - or whatever). We do try to let them do things by themselves when they can, but if it takes too long, well we help out instead of just waiting for them to keep trying. And I really DON'T actually like the idea of little toddlers cutting up their own food and making their own food and stuff like that, I'm sorry I don't. I think its fine for them to pick a snack or choose what they want, but they don't need special safety cutting knives and chop their own bananas or strawberries up. And ugh just the thought of the mess from a toddler making a PBJ annoys me :P Older kids, thats fine! Great! They've done it WITH you often enough to know how to do it, you've supervised them enough doing it on their own, and yes, NOW they can make their own sandwich or chop up some fruit for themselves to eat. But not 1-3yr olds!! Do it WITH you, ok. IF you have the time.
I vacuumed and shampooed most of the living room carpet. I've got pots and pans soaking in the sink (really they should have been washed already I forgot about them lol) AND I laundered my clothes. Want to take a shower later then I'll wash my towels.
My younger Sister died Friday afternoon she was only 45 :( :( she had type 1 Diabetes I am devastated and still in shock sorry I haven't been posting
Rough night. Woke up coughing again. I think the air in my room is too dry. Debating getting an air mist diffuser or something. I used to have a humidifier, and it helped. I don't like lights at nighttime tho so I will have to see what is available....Mist diffusers are smaller than humidifiers tho, so I don't know if it will work as well.
Oh! I need to put my quester plan back on. I had to change my debit card so I cancelled it, and now all my GA time is used up. Need my 15 quests per day hahahah :P I'll feel weird not having a Gold icon :P (I see its still gold, but my time should have expired like last night some time, so I'm sure it will at some point today)

edit: AHHHH!! I knew I was at the end of the Leviathan Harpooning game (I usually only do it for drills) so I went ahead and finished it and You win! You harpooned all of the leviathans! Ahhhh!! I'm on level 11 now (same HUGE board, only 600 guesses instead of 800) I have a feeling I will NEVER pass this level, unless there are fewer leviathians.

Yeah Kat, I think that's why Montessori classrooms tend to be smaller than normal pre-k classrooms.
I will say, we had the special knives, etc, and I let them start cutting up strawberries and bananas, whatever at 2 or so. But I definitely always just want to tie their shoes, buckle their carseats, whatever :P
I didn't do special knives. If my kids wanted to cut things, they would have used a butter knife if it was soft enough food. I can't remember how interested they were in doing stuff like that on their own.
I would like a smaller group of kids hahaha!! :P 20 is ok for 2 teachers tho, depending on the kids themselves. (You get enough wild chaotic kids and 10 is too many!) LOL
Ugh class tonight and I don't WANT to OOOPS I just totally realized I DID NOT RESPOND TO TWO CLASSMATES. I meant to get on last night and see who else posted and totally spazzed. Oh well. At least I did respond to one person. Edit: I did just go in and respond to one more person even tho it was late. AND I went ahead and did responses to two people for the other class :P Going to log off and then log back on for zoom meeting at 545 :P

Class was ... interesting :P The teacher was down south in the boondocks apparently and her internet kept going in and out, so she'd drop out of the class frequently. We did manage to go through her powerpoint, and everyone got to play their video, although the teacher again, dropped out several times throughout that. Then it got really bad and she didn't get to show us ANYTHING for upcoming classes. UGH. Me and a couple others stayed on and talked a little bit about the lesson plan, and then about the GACE test - this one girl keeps encouraging everyone to go ahead and start taking the thing NOW instead of waiting until later on (which the teachers want us to wait at least until next year to even start trying to take it so they KNOW we know the content)....LOL I don't know how she can even take it ahead of time like she has? Unless she is at a different point in her education than I am. I don't know. I am NOT going to take it early, and I am NOT going to stress over how well I will do. I did FINE on the para GACE. Excellent on the Ethics GACE. I think I'll do good on the B-K GACE too. If not, well I'll go back and take it again. Downside to that, is I have to PAY FOR IT every time I take it. SO I really hope I don't have to take it more than once.
The teacher popped back on before we got off (hahah she was apparently trying to call one of the students she knows pretty well, but he had his phone on do not disturb for class and didn't even know she was calling) LOL So she tried to show us the lesson plan (the 4 of us that were still on) but it wouldn't load, so eh. We'll look at it all next week hopefully and NOT be on too late.
Then after I got off zoom, I stayed on canvas and tried to work on the lesson plan a little. She DID say not to stress over it, and she doesn't expect us to have everything correct until we are actually student teaching (1 1/2 yrs from now) and that these lesson plans are PRACTICE.
[edit] you would think after all the movement songs, I would be tired. I could NOT settle or fall asleep, and was awake until after 1130 :/ Going to be a long day, since I woke up at like 530.

It wasn't too bad, other than the teacher logging off constantly and not being able to go over the stuff we needed to. It is what it is tho. Hopefully we will get to next time and it seems like she won't count things against us that are caused by this type of issue Like - half the class doesn't even have books yet, so she's adjusting the due date for the next assignment so that she has time to upload the chapters online for people to read. AND plans on not doing much more of anything from the book - but that one is a big thing so she wants to keep it. (we have to read 3 chapters and do some sort of assignment/reading log but I can't remember exactly)
I'm working on Drills now, he's my last bit to finish. Then I can spend my onhand SP and do Sarah.
I got 7 cookies from slots. All the same of course since its just the one that comes from there :P ALL in 10 minutes or less for trying to get 1500 sp for Drills LOL
And then I totally screwed up. I decided to create a new pet (meet Nyala) and turn them nostalgic and then didn't realize (even tho I read it) that it would change Sheli since Sheli was my active pet. AND then I used my reborn potion trying to fix it w/o thinking I had to change his species back first. ARGH So I bought another reborn potion and used all my onhand sPs on that. Oh well. :P

Ran to town this morning (only 25 minutes each way with no traffic!) because I wanted a coffee and a donut. Stopped at walmart and grabbed some hash browns too, because I wanted them last week and forgot to get them and Lily eats EVERYTHING. :P

I have no idea if I'll ever get the rift one. That isn't something I do daily. Can you do it more than once daily? I don't even know. I need another token shop one, forgot to buy it this morning so I'll get it now oh and the other crystal shop one too and I'll have to see what other special ones I need. Edit Oh yes. Tempest and scratchcard. I'll get them eventually!
[edit] 7pm OMG this group gets SO OFF TRACK. Especially in the infant/toddler class. I get that we all actually work with older kids (preK for most of us) but honestly. The class is INFANT TODDLER. STOP TALKING ABOUT YOUR PREK KIDS and let us learn about the infant/toddler curriculum like we are supposed to. GRRRRRR :P Two more years of this? I might lose my mind :P

Got back on track about 5-10min later (I sometimes think this lady just lets everyone talk to vent, since she doesn't have anything HUGE to go over with us, and it lets it show we were online longer hahahahah) Anyway. She went over the powerpoint, advised us to print off all her powerpoints and study them before the GACE as reminders because since we dont' have the book, the powerpoints are like highlights of the chapters. I was doing that anyway, I always print off powerpoints. I need more black ink :P
