Hi all! It has been a fun few days. My husband started a new job and is in charge of creating a new department within the company. I'm pretty excited for him with the new opportunity :) Other then that, it's been at home with the kiddo and taking him for walks since the weather has been really nice lately.

Hiya! I'll have to find them again on audio and listen. I think it was Jim Dale that was the narrator. I liked him enough, but not really my cup of tea for a narrator though. I'll try out the ones narrated by Stephen Fry :)

- i'm scared to ask what the strangesst thing you heard today was but i'm going to ask anyways...😂 supernatural is one of my all-time favorite shows. dean is very easy on the eyes. ;)

- which seasons of supernatural did you miss? i've seen it up thru season 14. well, i've only heard the last couple seasons but i saw the rest and can imagine what the last season or 2 is like. i didn't know they could fit that many seasons plus a movie on a dvd. wow. that would have bbeen 7 disks last time i bought anything. i'm going to see if supernatural is out on blue-ray yet. good luck at work. i always hated the emergency response part of the job. it was so sad sometimes. hang in there. you're in the home stretch now. :D

Hey everyone! It's been almost a week since I was on here. My week has been a bit crazy because one of my colleagues was ill and I had to take over some of his work besides my own work. I also found out I didn't get that job I applied for :( They were just stringing me along but signed with another candidate in the end. Strangely, I'm not too upset about it. I was already considering withdrawing my application because they told me they'd get back to me to plan an interview but never did.

In more positive news (I hope). My sister in law is in the hospital right now to give birth. I've been checking my phone every 5 minutes today, but no updates yet.

Stephen fry really is a great narrator. I loved how he made HP extremely British, which of course it is, so he emphasizes that aspect. Plus for some of the characters he does some great voices, but not too over the top.

The marvelous Mrs Maisel is an amazon series about a woman living in a Jewish community in New York in the fifties/sixties becoming a stand up comedienne, after a really awkward divorce from her husband. It has some great characters and some really well done costumes.

I LOVE downton abbey. I'm really into historical fiction series and books. I liked Outlander as well. But also some series that are in the more recent past such as The Americans or The marvelous Mrs Maisel.

- i'm sorry you had a crazy work week. stinks when that happens but what can you do? i'd say sorry about the job but , like you said, you were going to withdraw anyways. congrats on the pending aunthood. newborns are the best thing ever. i keep telling my youngest to reverse age so i can have the baby/toddler back but he stubbornly refuses and keeps getting older, the booger. i may check out the amazon series. there's a lot of tv i haven't listened to , it keeps piling up. i meam to watch something and then i get distracted and forget all about it. i hope your weekend is good. :D

That is good to hear! Jim Dale made the girls sound a bit spooky voice wise since he had such a deep voice, so I couldn't really listen, but I did anyway. Congratulations to your sister! Being an aunt is really fun :)

Sorry i was so tired last night, just did a check in and went to bed early! Worked till 10:30 am when the nightshift called in sick. Long story short i am home and working the nightshift. Doing some household stuff so i don't have to do them tomorrow and will take a nap later on.

And drat as i forgot the Pools here yesterday back at day one and i was over 250 days...

how is your hubby new job? Is he liking it?

thanks for the ticket. I have no clue what season i saw last, been a few years. I know at least 5 or 6.

I think Downton abbey is about 2 disks per season plus 1 movie. So about 12 disks...

Oh how rude! Glad you don't feel sad about the job but still.. how rude! ANd wow you are having a busy week as myself to.

-points at profile- Need i say more? Out lander season 6 starts here (NL) tomorrow, will be on ziggo, think on the On Demand section. Can't wait!

I started on day 1 again today also. I was on day 50. Life gets busy and we forget. He is liking it and he has met with everyone in the office here. He got everything set up for working at home, but I think he'll ask me to get more items when he starts.
Oh Outlander! I have listened to all of the books on audio and have only watched up to the 3rd season on Netflix. The books are awesome and I think they are doing them enough justice,

- my brain is not working today. :) now i know why outlander sounds familiar. i read the first book of the series by diana gabaldine (or something like that, can't quite remember) and thought the time traveling aspect kind of weird at the time. i mean, if i remember right, she just steps between 2 stones and is transported to the scottish highlands? so, in all that time why did no one else step between those stones and get transported? eh, i'm probably not remembering it right... good luck with the night shift. i hope it goes well. and i just read about you missing the bath yesterday. that sucks. :(

Galbadon :) And you are right about the story, but loads of stuff happend that she does not go trough the stones but later does.

2 hours done, 6 to go. The co-worker i am working with is from another team, she and i just don't connect. She is always on her phone or behind computer. When i ask her stuff i get an aswer but she never askes me stuff back. And she called for help 1 hour ago and i went to help her, i said hello hello and she was SSTT!! Quiet.. Hmm i was like well hi nice to see you.. not.. So sitting alone in the nurse station on my floor, tv on and i am not going to her unless she calls for help or coffee/tea. Not in the mood for her

- yep, that's the name. i barely remember the book. i read it like 25 years ago. you get to watch tv? we never were, night shift or not. although, once our work was done we could read books. it sounds like you have what we call "short-timer's". :Dshe's probably just being snotty because you're not going to be around much longer and she thinks she can get away with it because you're leaving, why would you bother to report her? ;) :D

We have a tv in our nurse station, as long as i do the work, etc i can watch tv. Only have it on when i have nightshift. During the day & evening don't have the time for it.

I read someone's review saying that the outlander books are really pulp, so ever since them I've been hesitant to read them. But good to hear you enjoyed them. I'll go see if the library has them so I don't need to spend anything in case I also think they're pulp.

I think I've only seen the first 4 seasons or outlander so I have two more seasons to watch. Nice that you have something to keep you busy during the quiet hours in the night shift. And your colleague sounds rude!

And my nephew was born yesterday! They're still staying in the hospital for a few days, because my sister in law needs to be monitored, but I'll go visit them next weekend.

It is easier to read them yourself to figure out if you like them or not. That's what I do too, I'll get the first book in a series to see if I like it enough to continue or not. Awww, that is so awesome that he is here now! That's good she is able to rest for awhile and you'll be able to see them soon :)

Hiya! I've been up since 330am with the kiddo, he went to sleep before 9pm since he didn't nap and now we are up haha. I got my coffee, so I should be fine until it is time for nap. How are you doing?

Morning! It really does help to have a connection with coworkers. I don't know the time over there, but hopefully the night shift is almost over. I've worked 3rd shift a few times and it isn't always easy that is for sure.

just watched the first episode of season 6 it was great. Shame I now have to wait a week for episode 2.. Congrats on your new nephew!

my co-worker is just that rude. I have had nightshifts before with her and they are never enjoyable. She is always behind phone or pc, gives answers when I ask but never asks me stuff (not even if I slept ok, etc) and when we have “lunch” at 4am with the co-worker who is on the closed ward (we eat there as she can’t leave) she just talk to her and ignores me. So I gave up ages ago.. will help when she calls, etc but I am not sitting with her in her nurses station staying out in my own. And I had enough to do, popped on the tv and watched that between calls. And before I knew it it was time to go home.

Soon you won't have to deal with her anymore!

I'll put them on my list!

I just learned that nobody can visit my new nephew yet because his mom has covid :( There are no symptoms so hopefully this weekend will be good.

- what fascinates me is the fact that you know she's like this having worked with her before yet you expect her behavior to differ now. were you hoping she'd be nice just because you're leaving? if she wasn't nice before then why expect it now. in fact, she probably hid behind her pc/phone so she wouldn't have to talk to you and say good-bye. thing to focus on now, though, is the shift is over and you don't have to deal with her again. :D (at least, i hope you don't.) i'm glad you got to watch tv and see your show. i'm glad the show was good. :D

- congrats on the new nephew! i'm sorry about the covid. that stinks. :( hopefully all will be well by next weekend and you can see him. 😂 oh, no, lone, i did not like the book. that's why i only read the first book. a friend tricked me into reading the book by telling me it was historical fiction with a bit of fantasy. so i was horrified to find it was a romance novel (i do not like and do not read romance stories). i had promised her, though, so i trudged through it. second, i found the time travel premise lacking. she walked through 2 stones and was magically transported to ye olde scotland? those stones had ben there for centuries according to the author and no one else had ever stumbled through them? it killed any last bit of liking i may have had towards the scottish-ness in it. lol now, i hear from emory that the show is good so it's going on my list to watch as i know shows can be, and sometimes are, better than the books. so, borrow that first outlander book with this in mind. ;)

- i'ma survival burn-out. i can't wait for the event to end and hope that there's at least a week of normal before masquerade starts. 🤪

I did not expect anything from her of the social part. However I did expect her to call for help or if I needed help. That is what you do as co-workers in a night when there is no one at all. And how she called for something to eat let’s say I kept my cool… She was just plain rude, lucky for me I never ever have to work with her again.
