tries to distract Niamh with what she already has in her massive wardrobe :P
Thanks :D I wanted to try that car on the new road but I thought it looked better with the added mist & shadows to turn it into a night scene ;)

I am sure other people won't notice when they look at it. :)
That is one adorable little meepit. :D It is not always easy to get the exact shape you want, but I think you did a great job. :D
That he is. ❤

that's very true nods The penguin won't be able to be a child's toy (way too much risk of that eye dropping out again!), but it does work pretty well next to a computer ;)
Thanks :d If I remember rightly, I just made flat squares / rectangles and stitched them together to make the shape - it was the only way I could figure out how to get the shape done, as I had zero confidence in actually making the 3D shape as I went ;)

-gives Niamh a large list of lovely cws to go after- :D
It looks pretty cool.
hows the eye
distracts Niamh by letting her drive the car in my outfit ....although I think that might backfire if she then wants more modes of transport! :P

It doesn't feel too bad, but it is still a bit red. According to my doc eyes can take a lot of time to heal. o-o
A nice excuse to keep it yourself. 👼
I might have to try that method sometime. See if I can get it to look like meepit at all. lol

I hope so too. :)
Celebrating my nephews bday tomorrow and dinner at my mums on Sunday. You? :)

that's guaranteed, isn't it :P
I've only got the wings, feet and beak left to sew to finish the owl I started sewing today, then I just have to write it all up and get lots of photos :D Hoping I can get that done this month, so I can finish it early for once.... also, the two bears are heading to a friend and her Mum as sympathy bears, and I have a feeling there's not long before they'll be needed, so I need to hurry up!
How's your day going?
hehe that's very true! ;) Thankfully the larger penguin went a lot better, apart from the tail ending up twisted.... but I think I like the twisted look ;) :d Admittedly if you can get some shaping as you knit, it would end up looking neater :P but it's a lot easier to work out the shape if you have flat pieces to sew / crochet together!

sounds like fun. I'm working on birthday gifts :) Speaking of gifts, we ordered your Christmas gift but the amount they wanted for shipping was outrageous so we've sent it here and will ship it with your bday gifts. Sorry it's been so late and all -snuggles-
pretty much :) awesome congrats :D I'm working on gifts for bday. How about you?
ooo that's a dashing HA today :D
The owl's finished! And apart from jabbing myself with the needle a couple of times, there weren't any arguments with it while sewing either :P
You're a lot more organised than I am ;) .... and actually that reminds me, I need to figure out what I'm making for K's birthday present. I came across some dragon cotton I had stashed, so I'm hoping it'll be enough to make him a shirt (need to double check the size, as I bought it when he'd need an age 6 top and I might not have enough now!)

No worries hun. I know amazon cost an arm and a leg to have stuff sent here. It sucks. More to look forward to later. :snuggles:
You could always try to make a new one too, now that you had a practice run. :)
You would have to increase and decrease, but how much each round that is the question. :P

I think if I make the small penguin again, I'd use a less slippery fleece - it wouldn't stay still while I was sewing :P I might have a go with some red & green fleece and make a Christmas penguin at some point, just for something a little different ;)
Well when I did the Neo faeries, I just started with a round crochet shape then tried increasing & decreasing just to get an overall shape.... I'm pretty sure I drew out the shape I wanted, then tried to figure out how many decreases I'd need in order to achieve it - once I'd done the first one, the others weren't as hard, because I had the base shape kind of worked out ;) Possibly if you could draw the side of a Meepit, it might be possible to work out the shape you'd need, and then work from there on knitting it as one piece ;)

why thank you.
that's fantastic news :D
well I'm trying to knit something but knitting apparently kills my wrist :/ so I'm trying to pace it so I can manage.
ooh good luck what age is he now 7, 8?
hugs thanks for understanding and all. Luff ya
which zombieness did you end up with? I went for the new 2022 random one, got one from last year, paid to clear it, then of course realised that this year's ones were broken :K :P
Aww that stinks on the knitting being so painful :( Hopefully you have enough time to be able to pace it before you need to get it finished! squishes
He'll be 7 next month, so I'd aim to make an age 8 shirt for him to allow for room to grow into it ;) I do need to check with his Mum what size tops she's buying for him though, just in case he's a little larger than average for his age!

pointy/ Chrystalis from last year. I did the same thing except I didn't clear it. Submit a ticket to get your mill back.
Yeah I thought it was because of the double thread last time but this slides like butter so it's clearly not the problem. I am well over half way with this thing. Only 6 elements left of this thing so that's a positive. I've been knitting without moving my left hand which is a lot harder to stop moving that i thought but not terrible.
sounds like a good idea. Any update on Gran?
I submitted a ticket last night, but it's not been assigned yet - I guess they've got quite a backlog to work through :(
Could it be how you're gripping the needles / yarn? I know when I did crochet that my hand would really ache after a while, simply down to how I was holding the hook.... I can imagine it's almost impossible to knit without moving your left hand though! Would wearing a wrist warmer kind of thing help (something that's snug enough to feel comfortable and warm, but not so tight that it causes a problem,)?
They're treating her for a chest infection (they mentioned pneumonia the first day, but that's not been mentioned since) and a UTI, but yesterday Gran wasn't eating again (she wasn't eating on Wednesday when they admitted her to the hospital, and hadn't really eaten 'properly' for a few days before then). Apparently today she's had a bit of lunch and enjoyed her pudding ;) The consultant does the ward rounds on Monday, so by Monday lunchtime we should have a 'proper' update (there's no ward rounds over the weekend), but certainly their original idea of "three days on antibiotics then she can be home" wasn't realistic!

A festive penguin would be so cute! I love that idea. :D
That is a good idea for the meepit! I saw a meepit pattern for beads etc... that might give me something to work from if I decide to try! :)
Of course. :snugs: I hope you know I luff ya too! :)

I'll note the festive penguin down and see if I can try making it in the summer laughs ;)
ooo that's a thought - that'd give you an idea for the shaping on the pattern :D
