Unfortunately my bike is quite heavy, so that makes the hills even harder! But if I cycled along the canal path then I'd always just push the bike back up the hills to get home 😇 It wasn't so bad going uphill, it was getting a grip on the downhill bits that I struggled with! I think that particular road had been walked down quite a lot before we got there, so it was even icier :K

I hope so too. She had two more incidents tonight but one of them had a heck of a lot of pine needles. So I'll be calling the vet in the morning to tell them. THey might need to check something else or...maybe it was just...caught up in there.

haha Ooh yay! It'll be lovely! Not sure if you read it: She had some inflammation and the labs showed she was dehydrated. She got 2 shots and an iv pack in the scruff of her neck. One lab was bad though, her kidney functions were on the borderline so the doctor has told me that at some point it's likely she'll have kidney disease. We'll have to have her checked once a year to see where the levels are and if we need to change her diet. But it could be 2 years, 5 years or who know

Hopefully that will help the vet to figure things out - where on earth did she manage to pick up the pine needles from in the first place though? She doesn't go outside, does she? (and I'm guessing you've not got a real Christmas tree up already!)

Its def. nicer to go for a bike ride in the spring or summer. :D I dont have a bike anymore tho, sold it. As I felt my balance wasnt quite good enough anymore to feel comfortable. blush

Hehe.. I always like to decorate for christmas and make it all cosy, so this was a good start. :)

That was Mum's worry with Dad using his bike, as his balance isn't great at times.... you almost want a three-wheeled bike, so that takes the need to balance away (I wonder if such a thing exists now?). I haven't ridden my bike for years - if I had space in the garage, I'd consider getting one of those bike stands where you can stand it up and just cycle (like using a stationary exercise bike) just to get practising using the thing again! :P

I've got as far as making Christmas cards and wrapping K's present (I had some masks to post to his Mum, so I put it all in the same package :P) but that's about it laughs Actually making the rooms look Christmassy will happen next month :P

An update. Maya had another episode with pine needles appearing. Taled to the vet and wound up taking her in. Maya is in surgery. He promised not to cut unless necessary. But he brought me into the OR to see the pine neddles in her tummy. O.0 how did she eat all those? 0.o

He also found a ponytail palm frond as well. They are pulling it all out. :/ so waiting on hearing back from him. Meanwhile weve swept the driveway and near our doors to get rid of any pine needles. I only know my foot doc here so i called them and asked if theyd take my plants. I hate giving them up but maya is worth it. So all my pony all palms are gone. Lol it was funny watching the staff picking up plants and scurrying away with them. Lol they were a hit. I think it was 8 or so plants in all. Some will be in the office lol but i see them walking home soon. Snickers. Glad they were able to help me out. Lol doc also checked my foot. Guess he couldn't help himself.

although that sounds super scary, at least there's a possible answer to why she's been so unwell squishes And that's definitely a shame on the ponytail palm, but it makes sense to 'rehome' the plants to save her risking eating more! That was a brilliant idea to get the foot doc to come and collect the plants :D

Maya stayed overnight. She's still being observed so today or tomorrow she can come home. I miss my little snot. LOL VET said, 'please make sure the dog doesn't bring in more pine needles.' I laughed. I so don't want her to get that either. We've decided to put the Christmas tree in the craft room. We can see it through the French doors but it's more off limits to her. I've moved all real plants and fake plants that are a ? on if she can get to. Most are now in the craft room with a light on a timer. I'll buy a plant light then we'll have to check the door several times a day.

since you two are talking of excerise bikes check this out I actually asked my brother for one for Christmas. It was about $28.

Then she got me and dad spraying us with it all the way home as she was trying to get out of the carrier. It was so gross lemme tell you. I had to leave the carrier outside, carry her inside, bath her (with dad's help) dry her with a towel as best as she'd let me, then wash the car out--yeah she got a lot of the car, then the carrier. Then I took a shower, threw my stuff in the wash and we got take away dinner. Maya looks a little less BLECH than she did on Tuesday night.

That sounds like a good plan having the plants in the craft room, especially if Maya doesn't go in there ;) The only disadvantage of having them tucked away (at least for me) would be remembering to water them all! 😊

definitely! hehe I admit I've been playing Christmas songs on the keyboard since the beginning of November :P That's mainly from having worked in retail (years ago now, obviously :P) and them having Christmas music on continuously from October 1st :P
