Thanks for the explanation! I always knew that there is a spiritual and traditional connection with the horses but it was cut out from my mind at the moment I read that the horse died, I'm very emotional to animals death :( Thanks for the videos, I'll watch them tomorrow (it's 1am lol) I'm happy to learn more about your culture and history! it's one of the reasons why I studied Archeology "^_^ unfortunately my studies where in Israel and France so it focused on those areaa only and we never reached the American part (it also considered as too new) so I get my knowledge from the net, so it'll be amazing to get it for you!
Anyway, I'm here if you need to talk more, to cry, anything! just send an sMail :)
I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I think its the forums that are glitching. I've seen other blank posts here and there. Thought, at first, that people just edited out stuff.
You can talk about it all you need to, here or by smail. The only thing I have the resources to do at this point is listen and encourage. Its not much, but I'm certainly willing.
I've been doing a little reading. This is scary, number of police brought in to fight protest, 1300!!!!! Why? And the warrants? Aren't photographs and video recordings protected rights under the first amendment?

Im not sure we have any first amendment rights, or rights at all in the eyes of the 1%ers. I get that the treaties from the 1800s are murky at best but the definitions of tribal land, treaty land and what ceded or unceded means are pretty straight forward right? Its mapped out in precise fashion and DAPL is obviously drilling on treaty land that has not been ceded.
How about the sheriff delivering signs "We reserve the right to refuse service" to the shops/stores in Mandan and Bismarck with the "new plan" that sales be based on if your native or not.
Its his smirk that gets me most. In some of the footage I've analyzed that smirk makes me want to throw up. And the violence he's allowed his employees to unleash breaks every law there is. He tramples over even the most basic of human rights and makes no apology for it.
Did you know you can be arrested for aiding and abetting in the commission of an ongoing felonious act and conspiracy if you are pulled over while bring supplies to camp.. BUT.. you can go to Mandan and donate those exact same supplies to his department to help the "DAPL Duty" crew and get your name in the paper for helping the boys in blue.
DAPL Duty is the pet-name for their "project" found in inner-office emails released to Unicorn Riot. Most of them are from the DoCR Parole and Probation officers. One comments about the oil company behind DAPL paying the P&P employees the overtime they rack up after the dust settles.
Seriously?! Who do you really work for? Can I have my taxes back because you sure as hell ain't working for me.
And nothing has slowed him in the least, he knows he's got over 350 billion dollars backing him and we're nothing in the grand scheme of big oil in his eyes. I think they should repaint their vehicles to say "Protect and Serve Big Oil" at your service thank-you-very-much.

Certainly its true that the 1% act like they believe rights belong only to them, but they're wrong. Doesn't matter if the businesses have silly signs, its still illegal to discriminate against race and if they try, it might just be a benefit to your fight. In North Dakota you only require the permission of one person in a conversation to record that conversation, so if people do it right, you might be able to get some great material for the media. Especially if you can get recorded conversation of someone saying the Sheriff personally handed out the signs.
Unfortunately, I doubt that the fact that DAPL is paying the police will ever come out in a way that will be usable. I'm pretty sure DAPL has some very expensive lawyers around to tell them exactly how to go about doing this in a way that will look legal. This could also be all too easily twisted to put your people in a bad light - it gives the police the avenue to get people angry about just how much its costing "taxpayers" to fight your protest - people will care more about "their money" than your rights. The fact that DAPL is paying the police is absolutely appalling, not to mention completely illegal, but the general public will be unwilling to believe it. Not only that but the money will not change hands until this is over, one way or the other so it will be impossible to get "proof" that will be believed.
Is this sheriff elected or appointed? Is there someone working on ways to get the asshole fired? Sounds like a guy who's always been a bully and now feels like he has the power to be himself with no consequences. He's riding high on ego right now and is likely to make mistakes because of it - like those signs, I think that's a huge mistake on his part.
The money is certainly stacked against you, but its making the other side over-confident and that can help you. The more they get away with, the more reckless they will become and while that makes it very hard on the protesters, it can also turn the tide of public opinion. Every smirk on that jerk's face is an indication that he's going to make more mistakes, become so obvious that people will have to pay attention. Enjoy the smirks because they will be his downfall.

- I actually wish you would post more about what is happening! It is truly eye-opening and hits my activism bone just the right way. I just wish I knew how to help you all. And wow, I had no idea that there were arrest warrants out for you! I knew I should be worried! hugs tightly
All of this just goes to some of the things I despise about this country. Are other countries this hateful towards different groups of people? It seems that in this country if you are not a straight, white man, there's a reason to hate you and deny you something. It's not right!
Aaaaand that was short lived LMAO! Several family and family of family guys came home from camp for more "substantial" or warmer supplies and so did Bill (my we-eh), so things were off the charts for the family Friday Saturday and Sunday with everyone around and of course I lost my internet Sunday night. Ya know.. I really don't like murphys law - it was my own fault, I wasn't paying attention to the date, I knew it was due, I just forgot. xD
Big oil has got to have the deepest pockets of any corporation on this planet, I swear. Some big banks have stopped funding them because their members or whatever have said no, and threatened to pull their money out. Everyone I know has left Wells Fargo, it's like bank king in ND but they were huge behind DAPL so thanks but no thanks. We now get letters and emails asking that we "reconsider". Yeahhh.. I don't think so. It's impossible for me to wrap my head around that many digits, it doesn't seem realistic to me. Then again, there were 3's where there now are 2's in the front of those so something we're doing must be working.

I don't think it's just about our skin, at first they didn't think a tribe of "nomadic" indians in the bad lands of N. Dakota would be able to do anything to stop them. They pulled a lot of strings and have paid off a lot of people but they didn't expect the resistance to gain the momentum it has. We've all heard the black snake legend where all tribes of all nations unite but I guess the 1%ers weren't paying attention.
What blows my mind is how many pipelines and fracking plants and things are out there, even if we stop this one my God, these things are everywhere. What are these people thinking? Don't they realize what can happen when one of them springs a leak or bursts?
On the lighter side, anyone know where Horofrost or whatever his name is might be hiding? I want that loot

- unfortunately yes. It seems the entire world is suffering increased levels of xenophobia, even countries where historically they've been more multicultural and accepting. I'm not sure why, but the evidence is overwhelming. England's recent Brexit vote, the USA's election of Trump, Hungary has started building a wall to keep out immigrants, Finland is talking about slashing immigration rates, Germany has had marches and protests against Muslim immigrants, Sweden has seen mosques vandalized, and some burned down. That's just a small sampling of what's happening around the world. We also have world leaders, like Rodrigo Duterte, President of the Philippines bragging that he's personally murdered people.
Ugh...my bank is on that list :(. Even here where 98% of our power generation is hydro-electric, they have starting fracking. I don't care how much money it generates, its just not worth it. The cost in environmental damage is ridiculously high. Get a dollar today, then have to spend 100 dollars tomorrow to fix the damage.

So one good thing about those boxes was how we actually talked to each other. I liked that. Now, no boxes, no one is talking. So, how is everyone? What you been up to? How sucky is work?
: Classes start tomorrow, and here I am going step-CLOMP-step-CLOMP-step-CLOMP everywhere. (I can't wait for one of my students to nickname me Quasihomo. :/ ) Except for that, things are going well.
just tell them it was from the biker getting too frisky with you.
How is it feeling?
: Surprisingly good -- in theory, tomorrow marks the halfway point until I get the boot off and the stitches out. I'm not ready to go out and kick soccer balls or anything like that, but if I have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I can make the trip comfortably.
being able to make it to the bathroom in the middle of the night is a very important life skill! Just ask the mother of a toddler.
: I'll take it. That and being able to hold it all the way through class are both in my top-ten life skills. :)
so do those count as one life skill or are they each one? Urine holding, it is not for sissies!
: Hmm. All things considered, it's one skill, I guess, but the potential consequences are way different at work.
yesterday we booked a flight to Paris we are going to Disneyland next month :)
I'm angry at my sister, she's complaining too much about her fiancé, she's seems really miserable and they about to get marry this March.. he's acting like a middle age man, she needs to be a woman in the house, so he's mom is teaching her how to clean and cook the way he likes.. it's so bad that he ordered her to wake with him at 5am so she can prepare a coffee for him, while she can sleep few more hours because she starts to work at 11am.. bleh I wish they will break up.. and when I say something she's like "so do you want me to be single forever??" No! I want you to be happy!!
Anyway, family business...
It sounds like they are likely to break up at some point. Better to do it before getting married than after. Unless she wants to spend the next 60 years miserable and feeling enslaved to some demanding jerk. :/ I spent several miserable years with my husband and then finally figured it out. Now I have to go to stupid work every day and worry about paying bills and a lot of feeling lonely. BUT IT IS STILL BETTER!
Also, Disney is good!
true enough. Hope today goes very well!
He proposed to her after 6 months together and at that time they lived apart and met every 2 weeks.. which is nothing! I married after 4 years and it's for the visa lol I could live in a couple without marrying.. it's a stupid contract that have no meaning these days, honestly.. it's just for the law but mess you up later when you want to end it and be free again.. I know they'll break up at some point.. but she wants to marry at any cost, it's her biggest dream.. but f* it, you don't need a man that treats you like a slave, you can find better.. or not at all.. a woman doesn't need a man to be happy..
And I didn't start with the cost of this wedding.. they are going to start their marriage with a lot of debts..A LOT!
tbh I just hope they will not have kids in the next 3-4 years, just in case you know..
Sometimes alone is better, you are free, yes you need to work in a stupid job and pay bills, but you don't have someone to knock on your head every time he farts something in his head.. you don't need to give a damn to anyone, it's your life and you're not under anyone's shadow..
With my relationship, I know that there is a chance that it'll end, no one promised me that it will stay forever, that I will always love him or he will always love me.. or be attracted by me.. who knows? life is so dynamic.. but at least we understand each other and we work together and each of us is independent in their own way and the rest is just extra..
