As for cold delays and school closings on snow days, its all what you're used to. Even here, where we live with bad road conditions through half the year, that first snow is usually a challenge to drivers because they forget how to deal with the hazards and have to relearn. If you only deal with conditions sporadically, it becomes a challenge every time it happens.

Not to mention people feel the cold differently. I have a friend who grew up in Mexico and even after living here for 25 years, she still freezes every year. Her body is adapted to shedding heat. Mine is adapted to retaining heat, I'm uncomfortable all summer.

Yeah, I feel sorry for you guys, and worry about the disadvantaged, and especially fear for the immigrants and refugees. But its not purely compassion for others, because your culture bleeds through the border to us too.

LOL I hate Tim Horton's their doughnuts are just way too sweet. Poutine, on the other hand is a great idea! Sadly, its much easier for 320M to influence 35M. Your combined voices are just so much louder!

No, no, no -- I hate that "feature". Sometimes I want to reply to someone else and throw out a new idea without it looking like they're connected in some way.

true...but then I use words. Reply, then start the next paragraph with "Now for something complete unrelated" or "Off topic:" or even just draw a line.

What bugs me more about the feature is coming back to a thread days after a topic has died down to find myself the last poster.
