The thing I find the most irritating, is as has been pointed out before, the so-called updates on the various offsite sites don't actually say anything. It says on that stupid Terracoon 'site is down' page to check twitter or facebook for updates, and you go there and there aren't any updates. None whatsoever. So I'm like 'why should I go there, it never says anything'. I have never seen any updates that i would consider updates, just bland comments that say "Yeah, working on it" and it's like suuure, cuz as we can see, once it's been worked on, not much is different.

But yes, I find most of the time, the "benefits" of a gold account are... minimal at best. So why get one if you don't really get /that/ much out of it? I never spend real money on gold accounts... I hardly ever put money into this site period- not worth it when the stability is so shaky.

I can say tho... today at least. I haven't seen any 502's... yet (knock no wood).

I would be willing to bet that while CWs have waned a bit in popularity, they're still the biggest moneymaker for the site. Yet the wardrobe has been broken for over a year for many/most players. The biggest reason people buy GAs is for autopricing, but we've had our shops severely screwed with and saw little benefit from that and now autopricing has been broken for shops that are still well within the limit of items since before 10/1. There was a board made on 10/1, but I had been having problems with it for a few days prior to that and we have heard absolutely nothing from staff about it.

I got my first GA 4 months after joining. I'll have been on subeta 8 years on October 18th. I've not been without a GA since that time (minus the time Keith accidently killed all the GAs). Until today. My GA expired just before midnight yesterday and I have not gotten another.

I will get my loyalty box in another week and may eventually activate the 3 month GA from there particularly if it is more helpful during the holidays but right now I don't feel the need, have the desire, to invest in another one. And it's a shame.

I think I bought a GA with real money only once. Otherwise I just use my profit to buy one. However, I'm almost ready to just let it expire and forget about it. I know staff wants support, even just moral- but it's hard to work up the effort to give it when you feel like your support yields little to no results

I've bought it with real funds and also with sP depending on how my own money situation has been, but someone had to have bought with real funds for me to get it with sP so I still considered it helping. And have always been (well nearly) happy to do so even through some of the hardest times on subeta. I was really surprised at my own attitude when I got the notice my GA was expiring in 3 days and then had expired. I just kinda shrugged my shoulders.

Auto pricing broken on larger shops, wardrobe perpetually being "worked" on, lag and errors and bread crumbs of responses often hidden away. It sometimes feels like subeta is work because I have to hunt down everything that Keith and the staff should post in plain site. If the information I want to know is posted at all. For all the problems if communication was better I don't think I'd feel so meh about all of it.

Though results would be even better.

I bought with real money until exchange rates were bad, and then, I bought with SP, and now, most of the time, I don't even bother with buying with SP anymore because it isn't worth the 17M per week

The 504s/502s are especially bad today. :T I was trying to get as much of my quests done before midnight, but given how the site's been acting, I'd be surprised to finish half of them.

This whole 504/02 thing is getting real ridiculous. Why doesn't staff just take subeta down for a few days like it used to and try to fix this?

We were told several times in the past that taking the site down for days would not be a solution to fix the site, because of different reasons.

Namely, the servers don't have the strain of 700 users, so they might be less eager to replicate errors they need to see to fix.

They know where part of the errors are, but when I checked earlier today, no programmer has been seen for at least three days on the main site.

So two things I haven't seen brought up yet here, besides the no-info on the fb/twitter/tumblr about the downtime, it doesn't even look like it was put on the /status/ site?

from the news post on the dowtime:

Quote
Downtime Alert! We will be taking the site down for necessary maintenance and database updates on Tuesday, October 4th at 2:00 am Subeta time. We expect the downtime to last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. We will be posting relevant updates on social media and on our Status Page. We will post another reminder on Monday afternoon. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work to make the site better for everyone!

then the status site:

Quote
Monitoring - Update - short downtime this morning as we were experiencing "white pages" site-wide. Site is now back up and we will continue to monitor.
Oct 7, 09:56 EDT
Update - We&;ve pushed the update on the servers, and have finished installing a new reporting structure. We&;re making additional changes to the database overnight and watching how it changes vs historical results.
Oct 5, 02:23 EDT
Identified - We&;ve identified additional MySQL problems, which have been keeping connections open longer than anticipated on our web servers.

We&;re having maintenance next week to resolve this with an update to our database software.

hmm, nope. also gotta mention I didn't remove anything, this is direct copy-paste for everything. the 5th and 7th are missing on the site itself (along with plenty other days but yeah)

but on to my second point:
mobile.
i'm on subeta say, 70% about, on my phone. there is no link to the status site. there is no indication, except in squirreled away forum posts there even is a status site (barring this thread, obviously), and when there is it isn't linked. so yeah. very helpful.
(especially considering the amount of users I imagine access the site with phones/tablets, the 'well stop complaining and look at the status site geez i mean it's linked in the footer in size 4 font' mentality is even more irritating.)

Per the status page, we&;re working on it. We&;ve got a couple of people on this morning monitoring issues and resetting the site as needed.
Per the status page, nothing has been done since the 7th. Is that accurate? I am getting errors just trying to do my dailies (not quests, gave up on that a while ago) and Morostide is right around the corner, which is making what appears to be zero progress on these issues quite concerning.

And I realize that this may not really be your department, but no one else on staff is bothering to communicate what is happening.

Daily goal at 21% this morning, today seems like a strong day for this.

However, 502 and 504 palooza. Wow. I even had two trying to access the cash shop earlier.

Ive been reading this and feeling the same way everyone else is...My husband and I have barely been coming on, trying to price a shop is slow as hell if it doesnt error out, trying to do anything in wardrobe is pointless...trying to do quests with white screens and errors...again...and like everyone has said morostide (a usually big event for the site) is just around the corner and the status page, facebook isnt giving me any answers. Its just frustrating.

With the way the site is running, I highly doubt Morostide will be enjoyable. I WANT to be wrong, but there's no clear indication of the site running smoother in time for the event.

I feel kind of betrayed. I made a thread a few months ago about how the staff's communication has improved. It did improve after the shop fiasco, but has dropped off again since last month. What happened?

I want to be able to feel confident in spending money on here, but I can't as of now. Even time feels more wasted here. And, as more people feel the same way, the worse the site's situation is going to get.

Posting on here as well, as I thought I'd add my two cents.

I've been a Subeta member for over 9 years now. I've been on this site for a long, long time. However, even though I'm spotty when it comes to site activity, I've been trying to get active and finally do quests on a daily basis, among other things. However, I confess myself very disappointed by just how many Cloudflare errors I am getting, which says that the host for Subeta online keeps going down.

I pay for a Gold Account membership every month, usually extra in order to autotrain my pets, and buy Cash Shop items. That's $10, roughly, every month, as a low estimate, or $120 a year. I rely on Gold Account membership in order to have access to the autopricer, to sell the items I get from quests.

However, given how buggy the site is, and the other feedback I've been reading here, I'm seriously reconsidering continuing to spend money on the site at all. As others have mentioned, the Wardrobe has been broken and buggy for over a year, with no solid solution in sight. My last avatar didn't even show all of the clothing items I'd supposedly saved.

That's left me wondering, what is exactly is my money going towards? And why is my $120+ annual "perks fee" not going towards actually fixing, or improving / bettering, the website?

It seems to me that Subeta and its staff have a lot of 'splaining to do.

Yeah this has been going on for years and we're always told more/new servers are being added, infrastructure updates, things reprogrammed, etc. and nothing changes. It's really disappointing and frustrating.

For the record, daily goal hit 45% last night, it's the highest it's been for a day that's not the 1st and not a sales day for a while.

I also want to mention that the issues I have with staff communication are with some departments only. It's not everyone.

Some departments are well-managed and I have little to say about the ones doing their job well, and telling us the information they can, but the ones who are lacking are REALLY lacking lately.

As far as communication goes, we can always be better, but on the other hand it&;s a fine line.
It's a damn shame that the last post that Keith made admits that Subeta "can always be better" at communicating, and communication has come to an absolute standstill in the 8 days since he posted (or logged in)

Which wouldn't be nearly as bad as it is, if the communication we were getting from staff wasn't canned 'per our site status page' BS. That site is worthless:

That part about needing to replicate the errors sounds a bit like hogwash at this point. They've had weeks of 502s/504s to gather data on, I don't see why they need more. I'd sooner believe the actual problem is the lack of coders, not that they need more info on the errors.
