pfff wtf is going on with those errors... still not solved -_-

Man with Morostide just around the corner and the site STILL falling apart.... things just seem grim. :( Suddenly I am not looking forward to my favorite holiday.

I've been really patient over the past several weeks and haven't complained at all... Subeta has always been this way during site events. It's just something I have accepted. But the site event ended weeks ago and the site errors persist. Today is especially bad and, as far as I can tell, the site shouldn't be acting up this much. Morostide is just around the corner, which will undoubtedly make things worse again. I like this site, its staff, and its players a lot, but the frustration is outweighing the joy right now. Please come up with a permanent solution soon. I'm not sure how much patience I have left at this point.

Let's be positive, people. We don't get SQL errors any more. :D :D :D

Seriously, though, SQL errors had the same effect as the current errors - they made the site nearly unplayable.

Morostide starts either tomorrow or monday. This is a HUGE event. One every player looks forward to all year. But here we are, with more errors than not, and zero communication about it. Please explain to me how, at this point, you want us to just trust and have faith?

I feel, at this point, this is more about saving face than anything. Instead of just admitting that they can't find/fix the problem and this is going to be an issue until they do, we are reassured that everything's just fine. It's being worked on! We made a new code! There are so many cool things we have coming for Morostide! Distract! Trust us! We investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong!

I am upset that signed on an hour and a half ago for the first time in 8 days and said absolutely nothing anywhere. It makes it feel like he just signed on to stop his counter from continuing to climb and show how long it's been since he's been on the site. I think we all need to see some kind of results, reassurance, actual fixes happening soon. Site morale is lower than I've ever seen it and it makes me sad and angry.

I am really a chill person but I am frustrated with the struggle to price and kind of mad today when I searched admin posts and saw one locking my friend's post about the endless errors. Admin took the time yesterday to lock the thread because there was already another thread about the errors. that was it. Nothing else said. Scrolled through the other thread and it's been like 8 days since staff posted on there.

this is really troublesome. i've been following this thread and read every page and at this point i am very worried that we might lose subeta altogether. i'm mostly feeling that way because keith hasn't signed on or spoken for so long, but i could be paranoid. the thing is, there are a hundred different ways to interpret what it means, but this is all getting really out of hand. i hope something is done, soon. we can't keep going on like this forever. i'm really hoping morostide will be an enjoyable event like it usually is.

To be fair that was me and I am really still a minimod. I have no programming or even UA powers. So me taking the time to lock that was basically all I can do (other than report it, which has already been done).

I'm very disappointed by the errors and I'm sure there's no way we should ever get used to them, but I'm impressed about how salty some users can be. I agree with most complaints and i'm also one of the affected but please don't go overboard. You can make a point and you have the right to get pissed off (well, you know) but I swear that all 502's and 504's are nothing compared to rude messages. There's nothing you can do other than complain. That way, you show staff that things must be done and you're unsatistied. Yet, please, calm yourselves. Go take a shower, take a walk in the park, read a book, go read some stuff on Tumblr. You getting on your nerves won't do shit about the site's actual situation.

I am not a UA (not even staff) but thank you! I have been given temp red icon so I can help with pet spotlight :D that is why I haven't changed. I am still the same old minimod. xD

No worries ;) I didn't want you to think I was ignoring your friend or being intentionally unhelpful! I wish I could fix every single issue but alas I am really not that great when it comes to coding xD I'd probably break more than I'd fix to be honest.

If they take the site down, tweak stuff, and get no 502's or 504's, it can be a false positive, because the server load is widely different with five users on site that when there are five hundred.

Coding is really trial and error based, so if they get no error messages, they might think "woo, we figured it out" ,bring the site back online and...WHOA, 502'S AND 504'S GALORE AS PEOPLE RUSH BY TO DO THEIR QUESTS

And cue people being even more pissed because they lost questing days for nothing

i just hope these errors and lag chill and whatever nonsense that causes it does too bc these past few days have been utter hell to use the site for me, the worst its ever been in the few years ive been on here, it makes questing impossible because 9/10 times i go to buy something and then get stuck with an error because a 502/504 hit. sure, we've been getting errors like this since the plot, but it's just gotten worse 😔 .

I have been too busy to check subeta in the past couple weeks because of class. Today was the first time I was extensively on for a bit, because I needed to help a friend with some coding.

I was more or less ready to punch babies by the time I finished. I had gotten an absurd amount of errors in the hour I was working, and was actually glad that I'm otherwise too busy to play the site. In my mind I've always tried to defend the site and it's shortcomings. But now I'm not sure if I can do that anymore.

Every time a thread like this comes up, the results are more or less the same wash-rinse-repeat cycle. Users express their frustrations, staff make a slight fix, and months later we're back at square one. This is how we ended up with the daily goal progress bar on the news page, because users wanted to know a financial overlook of how the site was doing as far as funding. (very paraphrased version of what really went down, but whatever.)

Has anything at all about the errors been found in the last week? The last thing mentioning the errors on the status site was from the 7th, and it's almost been a week since then now. If something has or hasn't been found, can a programmer or someone update this page with something? We've already discussed the lack of proper customer service skills with is communication. Another big part is actually finding a solution to the problem. Subeta is 12 years old and having these same problems, yet newer sites like Flight Rising handle larger and more active userbases way better. I understand competent programmers don't grow on trees, however if these same, persistent issues don't find some sort of secure remedy, I don't see this site around in five years from now.

Subeta is by far my favorite site, and it really sucks to not have any faith in it's survival anymore. If the site does make it, I'll gladly bite my tongue. Until then, I'll just be watching.

All I have to say is I really hope they push back Morostide until they sort out the mess that is the site right now. I came back for the first time in over half a year and literally every other page I'm refreshing several times before it will load. Wardrobe is basically a lost cause as of this evening. Adding Morostide into the mix is only going to make the site ten times worse.

Unfortunately I chose this time to come back to Subeta after a hiatus and buy some CSC. The site is slow and i'm getting errors so frequently.

Has the staff given up on the site? This is absolutely unacceptable.
