I love both, The montre caught my attention when I joined once upon a long time ago. I can really only say that the rounded muzzle seems a bit off. But I really like the pose and the shading! And that wing! Gorgeous! The new one seems to be more proper and stoic. The old one gave off a more of a cold-shoulder and slouchy-ness that was fun to see a pet drawn with.

I like from the new one the bigger and detailed wings and how you are able now to see the unique montre tail now. I also like the way of coloring it. But, I don't like the new pose and how it seems more... "normal"? I mean, the old one was a bit slim, this new one it's very good proportionated, but I think it removes part of the original character shape. Anyway, the important thing to me it's the pose actually,I prefer how the old one seems a bit insecure/shy/distrustful to the people who it is looking at (with the back shightly curved and the legs posed like it's thing about to step away from you or not)

I love the new design for the most part. However, I do agree with most everyone else that the snout seems... off. It's a little too stiff, a little too thick, maybe? Also, I miss the pointier cheeks of the old design, they seem a bit too rounded in the new version. But other than that, everything else looks great to me!

I think the longer, thicker snout makes it more kumos-like, but other than that it looks like a general improvement over the old image.

looks better in every aspect to me. would be cool if you put... more of an expression? on it. the old one's expressionless too but the new one doesn't have to be. this species could benefit from more personality.

The tail and wings are awesome, along with the body.

However, the face doesn't feel right. It sort of has a bull terrier face, right now. The eyes could definitely use a bit more definition. The ears also seem a bit odd to me, they seem wider and thicker now, sort of stiff?

No. Please no. Please please no. The feathers are too round. The nose is too round. The ears are too round. What's wrong with some straight lines?

I like it over all, but it kind of looks like a Kumos now, it needs to be more fox-like and and craft looking. And I agree with the people saying the face is a bit flat.

There are a lot of things I like about this revamp. The art is really lovely, it's a very nice quality, but there's something about the pose that seems off to me. I'm not sure how to explain it? Maybe it's where the head attaches, but something about it has a lot less personality than the old montre, which is a shame, because some of the newer re-draw colors are just excellent. I fell in love with the way the storm montre seems to move. It really pops. This one lacks that, I like the motion of the old one better.

I love the shading of the new version, the wings are especially pretty, but, like everyone else i think its face is too flat, and also its feet look a little weird, like its back leg that is closest to us looks like it pokes in a little too much and the front feet dont quite match up with the back, as if its sitting on some bumpy ground that we cant see.

I really, really, really don't like the face. The eyes don't have the same soul, and it's way too chubby/blocky. I also think the silver marking on the eye should be a bit thicker.

It's back is a little too straight, too, loses a bit of it's personality with the posture.. speaking of posture.. the wings seem a little stiff. Or maybe it just seems a bit bunched up in general. I've always seen the montre as a relaxed shaman watching from the shadows.

THE GOOD PARTS THOUGH are the paws, the shading in general, and the tail looks beautiful.

I voted for the new one, but the head kinda bugs me. It just seems oddly drawn. But other than that I really like where this is going.😊

I think the old pose is better: more lively and less like a stone statue (bored look included)... and it makes lack of a visible mouth less odd. Like some suggested, why not just draw it with the current (new) art-style but keep the pose and other details the same?

By the way, although the revamp has an overall better anatomy (yay for the normal legs!), it also has a broken shoulder and wings that are basically on its arms. The more triangular shape of the old Montre looks more adequate IMO. And now the pair of feathers by the tail are half-hidden.

In sum, I prefer the old one. After all, I have a Montre because of the old style. I would most likely not have chosen my dear Montre as my 1st pet is she looked like the revamp.

I like the overall body on the new one- definitely a lot of improvements there over the anatomy of the current montre. Congrats on having actual back legs now, pup.

Like I'm sure some people have mentioned though, I really prefer the hunched over pose of the current montre. I think rather than keeping the lack of mouth the previous two common poses have had, it should keep it's terrible posture (a lot of the special colors have mouths anyway, so I'm not sure I see the point in leaving it off the common pose..)

I'd also like to see the elbow raised, since it's making the legs a lot shorter than they have been in the majority of its previous art.

I see some issues with the face too, but I think others have covered that way better than I could- definitely agree with a more defined muzzle though!

I've had a Sun Montre for years now and was always a bit nervous about it's inevitable revamp, but overall I think this has a lot of promise. c:

Over all the new form does update to the growing style yes, so I chose the new design. However, there are some parts of it I seriously dislike.

First off: I don't know WHY it's so bulky. Montre's were built to be basically 'Foxes' but with wings and a lion tail. While the wings and tail are good, but the body and face form is seriously lacking. Comparatively, the older style montre is thinner visually than this new one.

Best I can explain is, it looks like you took a greyhound face, stuck pointy ears on it, and put it on a pitbull's body. The head and body do not seem to mesh well in proportional size for this design.

Next: Quite frankly I've had an issue with most of the paws on the latest designs, but that's my personal dislike of that style, so I can only say I really dislike them without any evidence to support my claim aside from personal bias.

Third: Going back to body and form, what did you DO to that muzzle? It looks like a very poorly taxidermy fox. Which we already have as a free gift so I rather my montre NOT look like that.

How about this, I'm going to put in a few links here of a pretty foxes sitting. Lets take some pointers off it's body's shape and muzzle build for your next 'revamp' on the montre. Keep those wings and the tail is nice, but that's it.

C'mon, let's see a better made 'revamp'.

Overall I love the new art, It's so much prettier and more in line with the rest of the art on site. However I agree that the face is suddenly very kumos-like and could do with thinning out and sharpening up a bit. Also the solid feathers are offputting, I'd call them pinecones if I weren't familiar with the old version and I'd almost prefer to lose them altogether than have these two odd blobs hanging off the tail. Neither of these are deal breakers though, the Montre was and is my first subeta love and I'm overjoyed with the revamp as a whole.

I mean absolutely no offense to the artist, but.. it just looks like bad art. Especially the face. It looks flat and looks like it belongs in Subeta 5 years ago. :(
