I think that´s a matter of perspective. To thin and skinny people she might look fat. To fat people (like myself) she looks normal/thin. I think it depends on whether body type is compared to hers.

True. The lowest size I've ever been is a uk 12 and shinwa looks like she would be a 10-12 if she were real and I never thought of myself as fat at that size, I still dont. Again, perspective I guess but ..anyone who would consider that fat is still worrying imo? Are we all supposed to be a size 0? 0.o

I can´t say. To me "fat" means an unhealthy excess of weight. Being a little pudgy isn´t "fat" to me. And Shinwa looks pudgy at best. Medically speaking it comes down to fat/body-relation. You can look pudgy and have low body fat and you can look skinny and have too much. As long as it is healthy it´s fine to me.
And Shinwa does look healthy.
And you have to consider cultural differences. In Germany Shinwa would be considered the normal standard woman. There you consider a 36/38/40 (Britain: 10/12/14, US: 6/8/10) normal. "Fat" begins at 44/46 (Britain: 18/20, US: 14/16) In America most German women would be considered fat I think... even the normal ones X´D

I don't really see much of a difference between the old and new ones. Except maybe a slimmer face on the updated new version of Shinwa.

I've stayed out of conversation, but looking at all the recent revamps, what IS with every character's gain of several pounds?

I'm skinny (underweight actually, and to be perfectly honest, I need to gain weight) and after every revamp I start to wonder when it became offensive to be skinny. Don't get me wrong, I love the art. But the art has never been an issue on this site. Even the ugliest of revamps this site has had, had beautiful art. So I'm not criticizing the artist's abilities in any way.

I just want to know why skinny is being taken out of Subeta...

@ MBacon Well, Shinwa was an anime version of Barbie before, so any revamp to her is going to look thicker.

sighs Please go look at pictures of arms of an average female teenage/young adult. Slender with very little extra fat. NOTHING like the plump arms of the current Shinwa.

Go look at women that lift things for a living, or lift weights at the gym. There are not three standard body shapes, small, medium, large. Everyone is built differently. Shinwa has large shoulders and arms. I'm built like Maleria, with a small upper torso and wider hips.

Shinwa not being thin across her entire body is not some personal slight against you. Seriously.

I weight 113 pounds. I have very thin arms. And I still say Shinwa is not 'fat', or even 'hefty', 'plump', or 'large'. She's average sized. With thicker arms. Get over it.

Yeah, her BODY is average-sized. Her arms should match that! Those are not the arms of a weight-lifter. They're the arms of a woman much heavier than Shinwa's body type. Ditto for her face. I still very much favor Deyra's version.

She has a round face. I knew a thin girl with a very round face. She also had thicker arms. Because, wow, again, body types aren't standard! It's almost like a thin person can have big thighs, or a bigger person can have small breasts!

Again, Shinwa is totally out of proportion. Out. Of. Proportion. I don't mind the new realistic type, if it's well done. Look at Esther and Emma. Esther is definitely plump, but it's all well-proportioned, and she's still utterly gorgeous. Ditto for Emma, who has a very athletic build. She's not model thin, but on her it WORKS. Those two are wonderful examples of what the art can be here on Subeta. Shinwa totally misses the mark.

I literally was best friends with someone that was built like her. I am comparing Shinwa to a real life person that I knew for years. A person in her late teens.

You're just not going to get me to agree with you. Shinwa needs a major overhaul.

No, she doesn't. You're just convinced subeta is somehow against thin people. Even though majority of their revamped NPCs are very much thin.

Again, bushwa. I just don't like badly-proportioned art! I LOVE how Esther looks.

Esther does nothing for your point, because she was plus size from her creation. She wasn't revamped to 'be fat'
