Other than Staff/Site update, I've not seen any of my groups pings. :( Friend pings seem to work, though.

You can only join 10 groups at a time :(!
The fact that groups have been combined with cults is stupid anyway.
I just tried and got this:
I think it might have something to do with the fact that I have a gold account and you (and I believe , who also tested) do not? Which means the amount of groups you can join might be related to the gold account :/
Is it new that... my ping-history only has personal pings on it, not group pings? I know I used to be able to go in there to see if I missed accidently deleted a "token restock" or something important. My recent pings page is like 6 lines long.. trying to remember when my last group ping was. Nothing today I don't think, which is unusual.
WOW. So I just tried to join a group.</p>

Edit: To clarify, I'd be fine if this were specifically about cults, with limits for joining so many cults, because cults are very involved and you have to dedicate a fair amount of time to being in a cult. However, don't take a feature we already have (forum groups), misunderstand how people use them by a HUGE margin and then add on 'more benefits to this old site feature that's been around for ages if you have a GA'.
I know you were working on this earlier this/last month. Is it still being worked on with these things in mind?
ALSO if it is, when will the group forum functionailty be finished? Right now I can make a forum, and it adds my ping group to the bottom of the main forum headings, but it doesn't add the threads/subforums at all, so you have to click like six or seven times to get into the area to see the actual forum itself (rendering it nearly as useless as cults currently are).
I think if you can finish this before the holidays, people will be able to use it (for cults anyway) to host holiday events ONSITE instead of somewhere else. But that's just the Sales and Marketing person in me talking.
And another vote for NOPE. The tiny limits are ridiculous. As has been mentioned by others, does the site just not want that much money coming in from CWs anymore? I'm another one that finds CWs to buy through group pings. Between private releases and people just wanting limited batches, I'd say 90% of the CWs I buy come from group pings. Simple math, really. Lots of groups means lots of new release announcements, means people will be buying more csc to have those pretty new things. 15 groups? Between my role play and friends groups, which are frankly way more important to me, I've pretty much filled that limit. And 5 groups in a lifetime? Again, ridiculous. You want us to use the forums more, then you severely limit our ability to join forum groups that interest us, and would keep us active on there through group pings. Can someone explain this? Because frankly it's not making much sense.

Please contact if selling these! (and other colors) (and other colors as well) Offering csc or will open my owned list for trades!
Another reason to just use the SB and not the forums. LOL

There's a limit for JOINING?

That's ridiculous, sorry to say it that blunt. I am not a big forum group enthusiast but still I am a member of ~35 groups and with that far off the limit. Putting a limit on how many groups we can CREATE I'd understand but joining shouldn't be limited at all.
Joining the rest in saying the limit is a bad idea.
Why can't cult!forum groups just be separate from regular ping groups? Even if they have the same functionality, it makes sense to limit one but not the other.
We can still have both, even if they're relatively the same thing. Or, as others pointed out, some of the new forum group features really do only make sense for cult-type groups, like sharing items or having a bank.
If you can make a forum group as a cult group (or whatever you want to call it), I think being a part of only 15 of those would make sense. CW pings and regular site pings wouldn't enable that feature, and then we could still be a part of as many of those as we want.

There we go, upped the limit to 50!
Huh! I just added a new forum to my ping group and it put itself on the bottom of the forums without a problem :( How long would you say that it's taking?
💖 ✨ 🤗
sorry but 50 is so not enough....really it isn't. I don't understand why there is a limit in the first place.
I appreciate that you increased the limit, but I know for a lot of people 50 is not gonna be enough.
Also, is there a way for your own ping groups to be excluded from this limit? I know there is a limit to how many you can make, but it kinda sucks that they're included in the limit of groups you're allowed to be in.
Edit: I mean right now I am at 45 and that's without having joined so many people's CW ping groups, but I am interested in joining them because they update us about new releases, etc.. And there are new groups being made every day, so if there were a limit, I think it should be closer to like 100. But I agree with others, why is there a need for a limit at all?
I am like... THE least social person and I'm in 21 groups. They are pretty much all only groups to do directly with Subeta updates, like wearable, TSrestock, and siteupdate.
I can't imagine having to be in groups where I actually interact with people, on top of the 21 I'm already in, with this limit in place.
🐧🐧
Because, as I've explained other places, we need to start putting limits on things. Things like user shops, wishlists, etc are hurting the site because we originally thought "no! other oppressive sites put limits on things! we aren't going to do that!" and it turns out those sites were right.
Remember that this isn't just a little bit of information in a forum group. When you join we start tracking: userid, type of membership (admin, member), is this user accepted, etc.
So, when new features come out, expect limits on them.

AND we were keeping track of all of that information in a million places. Cults aren't used, they are broken. Instead of making them the same thing as groups, we're moving their functionality to forum groups and putting limits on them.
What I like:
The idea of people who create a thread (ie: on threads like deadlines) being able to ping people who've put themselves down as interested and only those people. That would get rid of the use cases for a TON of forum groups - just making functionality better on the forums.
💖 ✨ 🤗
but why have that limit at all? i am in 97 groups, and far more than 50 of them are for different CW shops and important things like that, which I want to keep up with. 50 is just as low as 15 when, as you can see from this thread, many users have more like 100+ groups. the sharing item functionality is cool for cults and stuff, but why not just fix/revamp cults instead of taking things away from those who use the forums for things other than cults - such as selling art, CWs, pet boosters, etc. What about the roleplayers on subeta? I'm sure they have specific forum groups, too. it just seems like this decision wasn't very well thought out.
edit because a trillion people posted in the time it took me to make my post:
then give us some other way to contact people who want to buy our goods. give us fully customizable store fronts where we can sell people art or CWs. let us have lists of our "favorite stores" or something like that. this is just not the right solution. pings have been broken, too, for weeks. it's frankly upsetting. what if i like 50 people's chibis or profile graphics or cws? what if i like only 30 of those, but also want to know when my shops are re-stocking, etc?
I thought I was the least social. I was shocked to see I was in more than 90...
I might as well disband my stupid little group. I don't use it much anyway cries
