Do you guys even know what a caps filter would do? Would you prefer to see a bunch of lowercas letters? How would you guys go about making a caps filter? How would it work? How would it know when you are just capitalised a sentance instead of using extreme caps? How? May I ask you this question of how it will recognize these things, because filters can't really do that kind of thing unless you happen to know a way.

Keith.. What the hell. Use your brains. You applied a filter to naughty language. Why can't you just put a filter in for caps. I agree with what many have said. This is going to result badly.. I thought you were trying to keep this older kid friendly that includes those who can use senstense structure and less capping.

Oh, please. I'm not safe anywhere from illiterate people now! As I see it, this site is going to go right where neopets is now unless rules like no chatspeak and literacy are enforced. And for those of you who were unfairly warned, talk to a staff member about it! Last I checked, that was something you could do. :| If it wasn't clear enough by my post, I'm outraged at this rule change. Do you /want/ Subeta to end up like neopets? I don't believe I'll be getting on in the future. The only direction this site has been going lately is down.

Instead of warning people, maybe there could be a filter system instead? People can turn on this said filter to block all caps or leet.

It's easy to avoid getting in trouble for this rule. Immediately I've seen quite a few all caps boards shoot up in numbers.

Come on ... It made no sense to get a warning that could potentially freeze you over this, but to totally remove it? Now what is to stop people from totally abusing the way in which they type? I think there should still have been some kind of control, where if you do this on purpose, you still get a warning.

Vagisil, I'm talking about people posting the whole topic in caps and there whole post and using a stupid amount of punctuation. As for my post I see nothing wrong with it, other than I missed out on leaving paragraphs.

Just because the forums havent gone crazy doesn't change the fact that it was a bad decision and it is saying to those that want to use full caps and an annoying amount of punctuation 'it's ok go for it', oh and ignoring it doesn't make it right and doesn't change the fact that it's now able to get out of controll, there is nothing to stop it before there was...

And just to prove a point, how many all-caps messages do you see in Shout? The only forum I've seen with a lot of Caps is Bragging and Complaining, and for the most part, its just a rush from the new rule's arrival.

Zombiedoggie, I find it highly ironic that you bash people who type in caps or leet, when your grammatical structure is so poor. Anyways, everybody here is used to typing under fifty percent caps. Sorry to inform you, but things aren't going to go "OMG CRAZY" and Subeta won't be all caps and leet. If you don't like a post, simply ignore it. That's what mommy and daddy taught us in first grade - to ignore that big fat bully on the buss.

Subeta isn't going to turn into Neopets unless the 13+ thing is taken away. (I know that not everyone on here is 13 or over, but it's most people) On Neopets you get 8 year olds who can't speak properly, let alone type properly. c:

Sorry but I think thats a very bad and very careless decision... I for one do not want to go into the foums or shoutbox and see idiots posting any way they wish. I don't care if people want to post in caps or not I do not want to see posts like that and it's wrong and it's very illiterate it just makes those that do this look like complete illiterate, iddiots sorry but it does and thats a fact. The whole allowing of excessive punctuation thing is another bad choice and believe me it is not a good reflection of what is going on around here, it just shows that the staff are leting things slide out of controll. All the dumb asses are going to have a riot with this, why don't you just set fire to the rule book?!. Then they can have a real party then!. This should have been put to a vote at the very least. I don't agree with this at all and I will be skipping all unreadable posts and any posts in caps from now on. Sorry but it's one of the worst decisions Subeta has made so far. I don't care if people disagree with me, I'm entitled to my point of view and this is a bad decision in my opinion.

Didn't know this rule existed, so I am very, very glad I never overdid it with punctuation. Can see many pros and cons about taking away this rule, but in the end it's Subeta's decision so we all will accept it.

I played Neopets when it first started - my account there is more than eight years old. Neopets used to be very much like Subeta is now.

I'm not saying this means Subeta=Neopets or that I don't have faith in Subeta. I'm saying I was around to watch it become what it is now and people used to have faith in it too.

The SB is my favorite part of Subeta. It's basically why I play. I know that may sound lame to those of you who 'hate' the SB or never use it, but that's how it is for me.

It's where I've met everyone I know, where I hang out when I'm on and it's why I care. If the SB becomes incoherent and unusable - it will kind of ruin Subeta for me.

My problem with all this is: Plenty of people care about the forums - if this screws them up it will be reversed. The SB on the other hand, as your response pretty much proves, is mostly ignored by the majority of Subeta. If the usability of the ShoutBox is destroyed with excessive caps/punctuation spam, I don't think these rules will be put back into place as they would for the forums.

And like I said, the ShoutBox is why I spend as much time on Subeta as I do. It (not the forums) is why this decision is an epic fail.

I can agree on the excess !!!!!'s, it can look really stupid and isn't needed, but I don't get why people need to BAWWWWWW over fucking caps. IT'S A FREAKING CAPITAL LETTER NEXT TO OTHER CAPITAL LETTERS ;c That would have sounded much less effective said as 'It's a freaking capital letter next to another capital letter!' It sounds nicer. One of the things that made subeta look all the more intelligent is now gone. Caps doesn't bother me, yet the punctuation rule being gone does. ... =/ It's what made subeta civilized.
