I prefer the old demi because the face is much cuter than the new one. The body is nice in the new version but the older version's face is just better in my opinion. If you kept the old face, but the new body, then maybe it would work.
The new one is better drawn. But the old one is cuter. shrugs
once i saw mysticcookie's redraw. i would vote for that too. but seeing the poll results right now, i can see that the new demi is going to be chosen. and that's why i zapped my demi. however, if the redraw gets a redraw, i probably will get a demi again.
This may have been said,considering I haven't readed the other comments yet. But even though the new was is cute,with more realistic shading and all,the other one is just so... 
I think it's in the face. It has that face you'd see on a lost puppy that is trying to charm you into taking it home.
Mhn.... I have to agree with what some people are saying, though; if this revamp goes through, Morella shall have to be something else. I'm sorry, I know there was a lot of work put into this, but it's just too flawed as everyone is saying... if anything, I do agree with them and say that MC's demi idea would be a damned good idea. I'd get a plain colour Demi once I get enough pet slots should hers go through.
Is it just me, but it doesn't matter how good a picture is redrawn, if it doesn't have the charater in its face, its just not the same pet...
Why does it matter if someone is a staff artist? I know the staff ones do alot of work (as shown by my plushie collection), but if someone has drawn something in the way alot more people prefer...
I love MysticCookie's version. While this new version has crisp lines, it lacks the soul I fell in love with. I just hope that if the new one is chosen that my Hikku will not be redone. I would hate to change him again. He would no longer be the demi I fell in love with and worked so hard to morph and potion should they redraw him. I mean no disrespect to the artist who did the redraw. But as of right now since I can not vote for MysticCookie's version, I vote old.
Hm. It is a VERY nice version, but I also had to vote for the old demi, as it is one of my favourite pets here and I would be sad to see it revamped. Yes, it is a little 2D, but I agree that perhaps a lineart change would improve that.
Also, there are other pets I think that could use a touchup more than the Demi. But this has already been said, I think. ^^;
However, I do wish we could see more than just a basic color on revamp polls...I know it would be more work for the artist, but it doesn't have to be all the colors, just maybe one other to help contrast the common...it might help folks to decide easier between old and new. Just a thought.

The new Demi's hair and it's tail looks so much better than the older one, so I voted for it.

I voted for the new Demi because I think it's better drawn. The artwork on the site reflects also it's quality. When I saw the Subeta site for the first time it was the artwork that caught my eye first.
Sadly since MysticCookie isn't a staff artist, they won't use her work. :/
I only hope that the Reborn and Darkmatter Demi's will not be redrawn. For those are some of the most gorgeous pets on Subeta. (at least in my opinion x3)
And I just can't put my finger on exactly is displeasing about the revamp, but what other people have said pretty closely sums it up.
Oh yea, and a simple shadow behind the horn should fix the 2D problem. -.~

It's a lot better than the old one, but there's something about the legs ((especially the hind legs))... It looks like Gumby's little horse friend. o-o;
And yea, it does look pretty blank in personality. ^^;
The head and hair is perfect ((aside from the horn that looks really 2D)).. But if you made its back end a -little- more raised and maybe make the eyes look directly at us, it'd help the whole lifelessness issue.
Remember, thin lines and details are your friends. Thick lines and .gif colors are for little children who can't color right.

Again, no offense to Tsume - she does beautiful work and is a great sport about taking user opinions into account. But sometimes it's more about the character of a pet, and even that barely started sketch posted by MC in the forum has ten times the personality and Demi-ness of the one in the poll.
Is there any chance of putting Mysticcookie's sketch in the poll? I like it and it does seem to be a big favorite of the Demis poses so far...
I voted for the old demi. The new one is drawn better (shading, lineart etc.) but it lacks the character of the old one.
I like the old demi better. It is cuter and has better eyes. The furr on the redraws back looks weird and the head is to small. Demis are my fave species and I don't think I would like them nearly as much if they changed.
I like the better limb shape and tail on the revamps, but nothing else. It gets rid of the personallity and the head and back fur is just now odd...
You can't just let only the people who own a demi vote. Future owners and the likes of others should have a vote also on a redraw.
I like the redraw except for the tail. The beginning part seems rather flat, but other than that its all good.
I enjoy the way that the Demi was colored in the new version. The colors are more realistic, however, the Demi itself look overdone. Honestly the only way I can describe the hair is a mullet. The anatomy of it needs to be improved a bit, such as the tail, and the legs.
What really gets me though is how fluffy it is, the cheeks are the first thing I see in the picture, and the hair looks like it swallows it up. it makes the face look a bit crowded in a way.

I love the new look, it has much more of a flowing relaxed look to it. Although I am not too fond of the position of the horn and the quills being less messy than they used to be, I really would like this revamp to go through, if you tweaked it a little to be a little similar to both Mystic's and Tsume's designs. Although it would make more sense to have the original artist redraw it. Either way is fine with me however.

I'd have to say that my main concern is its back legs, the belly doesn't flow into the chest so it gives it a sucked in stomach look. I do love the barbs along the back, thou along with a few others, the tail has far too much of a straight line to it instead of a tail's curve.
I really appreciate this newest version, and voted for it as well. However, I feel the tail has a very unnatural curl to it. It's a very beautiful.

The new version looks more realistic and strong. While the older version had that child-like innocence to it.
After comparing this redraw to the original Demi, I voted for the old version. I preferred its more angular and slender design, pointed snout, and thick, seperated quills.
However, I do like the realistic fur colour and placement of markings on this design. The sketch of MysticCookie's design in the forums seems to be a nice update...would a collaboration be possible/a good idea? A mix of those two designs, in my imagination, takes the best points of each design, but it is only my opinion.
I felt like I had to vote for the older one, it just seemed a bit more fun.
The first thing I really noticed about this picture is how open it felt, with the angle the front is at I just think it makes the demi's design look a little too plain, which I have never thought before. This image just has a bit too much of the golden base color and doesn't leave a lot of room for the richer markings. Maybe if the pose were altered a bit I'd like it better.
The second thing I noticed were the eyes on this one. They just don't seem to have as much character, like the expression doesn't feel right. In the old design they looked right at you, and it this one they're aimed a bit higher. I think by losing those big bright eyes that are smiling at you it takes away from what makes demi's so special.
OF COURSE- I may be a bit biased, as demi's are hands down my very favorite pets here, but I really don't feel like the revamp as it stands now is right for the demi.
I like mystic's idea... I think the quills on the one here in the news post are two close together... you can't tell they're quills. However, the thinner line art is nicer than the old one. It gives the fur a more furry look. The new one has the horn too straight up... you can't really see it very well. If it were tilted forward a bit more so it stood out from the quills, it would look a bit better.

No matter what happens, I seriously hope they use the exact shades/tings on the old demi. The old dawn demi's colors inspired me to no end. Aren't I lame? XD

After taking a look at it, I must agree that - while I voted "new" for the sheer beauty of it's body structure - I would definitely give the vote to mystics sketch, if it were inculded. I love the new demi, but the sketch in forums retains all of the charm of the original, while updating the lineart and general flow of the demi. I'd recommend that people check it out, if they haven't already.
I love it overall, but as many have said, the horn just doesn't look right. It looked rather.. pasted on. Maybe make it pointing out just a little bit?

It took me a little while of browsing through comments and considering both pictures of the demi to make my mind up here. But in the end I chose the old.
The new demi is a beautiful drawing and the shading is wonderful. However, that said there is just too much about it that isn't demi-like.
The colours are just not striking enough - something that can easily be changed. Also, the mane is a little too thick and its body and face a little too... chubby. A demi should be more delicate than this.
A fantastic effort, but I do think it needs tweaking a little before it can go through as the revamp. That said - I wouldn't totally write this version off. The artist has done a nice job.
I saw Mystic's redraw sketch in the main forum as well, angelembryo.. I have to agree with you. I quite like Mystic's redraw sketch, and think that it should be given a chance in the polls, too. It kept all the old characteristics of the Demi, and merely updated the art, rather than changing a bit.
The Demi has always been something distinctly Subeta to me. Changing the look changes the character of the species a lot. It's wild mane looks like quils at rest on the new version which is much of the main feel of the updated pet. I do like the body. It's a vast improvement. The tail is a little long, however the old version has it at an odd angle, making it seems like it protrudes to high on it's bottom. And also, what I like about the present version is that the horn does not go striaght up, but points forward, like a lance. As far as the face goes, the muzzle still looks to stubby. I'm sure That those who like the indistinct look of neither cannine or feline on the Demi,but it needs some flesh about the snout.
The new Demi echos the reborn version a lot. And that pretty much sums up everthing I like about it as pet.
While this new Demi is nice and refreshing, the overall bulky-ness of it does not scream Demi. The muzzle is horrably thick. I belive the origanal demi was designed as a rather lanky and sharp haired creature. Not a muscular matted down hair creature. This new Demi is even offensive and hard on the eyes on some levels. A good example the eyes. No longer due they display an inteligent and animal like feature; they are cartoony and bland. Leaves nothing to the imagination. Is some areas like the back hair too much detial is added in the new one. The angle of the horn on the new one is very er...wrong? it looks like its just sproited it!
In my opinion, i do not belive the revamp offered here is any good. BUT a revamp would be nice. JUST NOT THIS ONE. I also have a problem with the way the revamp polls are going. Just about every time the revamp is for; why? BECUASE THE REVAMP HAS MORE DETAIL. It's simply not fair. Just becuase the revamp has more detial doesnt mean it's fit!

The new one is cute, but I had to vote for old. Something about this demi looks a little odd...kind of like the kora revamp poll. The neck and face look slightly too small-maybe if they were lower just a tad? The horn looks oddly flat and the tail is kinda out there, but the body looks great.
All in all, I think maybe just a touch up of the old Demi would be better.
I voted for the new look of the Demi.
Simply because it is drawn more into detail and it looks more "lively".
The tail though doesn't really fit into the whole picture - it is too long and huge.

The new one is very nice and realistic, and stays along the current Demi design, but as said before, the mane looks too fluffy/matted for the new Demi's slender look, as well as the horn being too... unicorn-y. x3;

I love the depth of the hair and its paws. I think its a great re-draw, and I voted for it.
I saw someone ask if the Demi should just get a slight lineart and shading tweak instead of a total rehaul, and I have to say I feel a little more comfortable with that idea. Especially if mysticcookie gets to do it. XD; Sorry... what can I say, I'm a diehard Demi fan and still convinced that nothing can really match up to MC's original except an MC redesign. I'd still be perfectly happy to see the Demi stay exactly as it is, though. There are other pets here that are in much greater need of revamps, and as someone said, the Demi is already a very popular pet despite its supposed outdatedness. It seems sort of pointless and inefficient to overhaul something that's already so popular. ^^;
I also voted for the old version. I like the old version since it had this plain-childish look to it. I dont know how to describe it well enough. xD;
As everyone already mentioned, some of the parts in the image are off, but can be fixed.
What really bothers me is the mane. :'D Its seems to have a think hair look. It just needs a trim. To the barber shop! =D♥! As already said, the head is a bit small which makes me dislike the face. :B The tail seems to be flat and bigger, unlike the old one being this small curly tail♥. The horn also bothers me because of the angle. Oh and I like the demi because in the older version, the demi seems to be this small animal. But in the newer one, the demi grew bigger and longer. :'o
