(If there is a topic like this please lock, sorry!)

So I was sitting around thinking about stuff, as I often do, when I started to remember the old days of playing Subeta.... That really got me thinking, like how much this site has changed. Also got me curious as to how much people remember of the old days.

For me this is what I remember.

+Vending used to be page by page. You press the machine, get to a page with a single item, hit back, rinse and repeat.

+Wardrobe had only one item per layer option, unless you used a trick to sacrifice a layer so you could wear 2 items on a single layer.

+Some Subeautique sets were vendable.

+When the site crashed sometimes it took 2-3 or more days to get it back up and running.

+Keith used to do a live Q & A and then some amazing user(s) used to transcribe every single word, moment, and more.

So yeah that is what I remember for the most part.

Please feel free to chime in, I really want to take a stroll back, sometimes it can be good... and bad... so yeah shall we? c:

Periodically these boards pop up haha and they're always my favorite..

• I remember using the REALLY old profiles, where you couldn't move anything and it was all set in one place. (I used that till they forciably took it away..)

• When you could upload your own avatars! (And how Keith/Subeta decided to remove them without notifying anyone and a lot of us lost our customized avatars.. There was a lot of pissy people for a while!)

• When I thought that "2m" for an angelic potion was a lot! (I bought my first angelic potion for 2.5m and changed Kinney, who I still have!)

• Speaking of angelic potion, when the donation center used to be flooded with items for Christmas.. And I once snagged about 8 angelic potions from it. (Those were good times haha)

There's definitely more.. But that's what pops up immediately!

Before the human avatars got released we had little avatar images. Some were standard avatars that everyone had right from the start, others were like achievement prizes and if you had a GA you could even upload your own. I miss mine still.

I also still remember one April Fools Day where Scribble Pets got released. There was a funny news post saying the artists left staff and now Keith had to redraw all the Pets by himself for copyright reasons or sth. For one day every Pet on your account was Scribble then xD

My first GA cost me like 700k or so.

I haven't been around as long as some people, but I remember being broke and trying to get little bits of CSC with those sketchy ads and video things. Pretty sure that feature was removed, but thankfully we now have the Bathhouse to get some credits without worrying about computer viruses or whatever else.

I'm a newer user but I'm glad for that too! :)

LOL So that's how Scribble Pets came into existence?

Goodness! I love angel pets, so I would have done the same thing in the DC (grab potions that is) ;) And my first angelic pet was LumiDestiny. I still have her! ❤

My fondest memory is the red "You have this item!" text that appeared underneath items in wishlists if you owned the item. I really miss it and it kinda irritates me that after all these years we still don't have a comparable substitute for it. I know that it was taken away due to being a strain on the servers, but surely there is some solution like putting all of the item checks in a queue (kinda like moving items from vault to shop) so that it happens slowly as server load permits rather than all at once.

It would really streamline holiday gift-giving (and even item selling) again :/

When I joined in 2010, Cybills were "limited edition" which lent a appeal to them. I also liked their appearance from then. I know its possible to edit my pages to reflect that, its not something I know much of.

I remember restocking with actual numbers typed in lol I loved restocking, still do I guess, but it was a little more satisfying to do it the old way.

I remember when CWs were introduced... oh man all the drama llamas

I remember vending page by page as well, you used to have to press to vend, then 'back' I think? and then vend again! And there was NO LIMIT!!!

I remember having hundreds of Epicon and RD points which are now completely useless and don't exist, respectively. I remember spending a ton of money on csc weekly/monthly before all the changes and everyone left.

I remember seeing Keith interact with us on forums regularly.

I remember wardrobe layer-specific limits (and a very very real difference between foreground and background)

I remember the free beer fiasco lolz

oh and I remember wardrobe drawers functioning.

I still to this day debate if they should have done what they did with the bringing of the pirates. I mean..potentially anyone could have died..but why the girl? I wonder if it was because it was one of the characters of the two staff that messed up the site later on when being told they wouldnt be coming back. But idk who choose to create her to begin with-shrugs-

I do like that for some of their other characters they chose to repurpose them instead of just retiring them like the rabbit now working in Atebus.

I find myself still clicking to Atebus trying to access a zapper, haha.

when i first joined in 2011 an angelic potion was my first goal i bought one for 14 mil BOY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED

also remember when we didn't have the 'shop search' link under items for quests so much copy and pasting man q ___ q and the wizard (and possibly saggitarius too?) used to give out items?? i think?? i might be wrong tho

and let's not forget the dark days when you could only have 3 outfits saved in the first wardrobe

Lmao the free beer thing, yeah that was bad. They've been asked for by the Recycle Beast a few times, I think, but there are still thousands of them on the site. :P

I think Maleria and Cinthia used to give out items with their quests too (they still do for weekend quests, I think). IDK why those two were changed and others were left alone, but I know a while back they were adjusting quests to try to balance out the economy or something. It didn't really make sense to me and the changes seemed arbitrary, but whatever.

and maleria used to ask for some v specific items which inflated like mad during her weekend quests lmao

I kind of remember that too, at least I remember them expanding the types of items she could ask for to try and keep things from inflating too much.

I think at one point they changed it so that none of the quest givers were giving out items, or it was only like one or two of them that were. I'm kind of glad they didn't keep it that way, even though I usually get junk I use them for fragging. :P

oh god same @ __ @ i think i might have been on hiatus around that time but it sounds super annoying fragging junk i get from quests is how i get literally all my crystals haha

When you could buy 500 CSC for 15 mil and when a bunch of pet colors got released during plots. Good times (:

Sometimes if I really want more crystals because I'm close to affording something I need from the shop, I'll vend for some junk. But usually I'm too lazy to vend every day, so yeah most of my crystals come from fragging quest junk as well.

I remember when Subeta used to have a gallery where you could upload your artwork.

I remember the tacgnol fiasco, trivia retiring and the (now-legacy) achievements rolling out! Ahh, trying to remember all the changes that have occurred is very painful. I also remember users actively browsing would pop up along with the user counts..

I haven't been here as long as some, but I recall being shocked when I hit the achievements for having a certain amount of sP for your account worth. Reading through these comments though, I'm glad to be here on the Subeta of today even if I missed seeing it grow.
