God I remember when every account on the site was just gone and we all had to just remake.
I remember I won a graveyard potion from the Trivia game Longcat Crusade

I remember this once in like....idk, end of 2007? when Subeta was totally down and would post screencaps of himself working on the servers and smashing his head against the desk or something lol

Also when donation presents were available via sending cash in an envelope and i sent like $5, and he never picked it up XD. I smailed him about it and he sent me the donation present anyway

Omg the oekaki ;^; I remember I never posted on it because I was too shy to share my art at the time but I would lurk constantly. haha

I miss the holiday shop a lot. Restocking there was pretty cut throat.

And when the RP board was poppin' and there would be like 15 new RP's a day, and people would reply within like 5 minutes and god forbid you had to go eat dinner or something because you'd come back and be like 3 pages behind.

And I know it's been mentioned a bunch of times, but Keith's Q&A's were the best. haha I remember if I missed one, without fail, there'd be someone with the transcription ready in general discussion. ;o;

When the game Reflection for some reason had a picture of Nicole Richie on it. lol

Trivia Questions

I was just thinking about how it's strange that I've been on this site as a member for a decade and I was a preteen when I first started playing and now I'm an adult. I know that I'm a different person to how I was back then but I'm still here and this is the only site that I've come back to consistently. does that mean something about us as people?

I joined in 2013, which is fairly late compared to others here, but I still remember some stuff that's different now.

You had to manually search for quest items instead of there being a link to the shop search.

There wasn't a button to automatically add newly bought items to your wardrobe/collection.

Minion Zoos weren't a thing so anyone who wanted to collect minions would keep them in a gallery.

This thread seems like the best place to ask this sort of question, but are there any old guard members who have happened to hang onto screenshots of the website through the years? I was picking through my files and hit by a wave of nostalgia when I found an unfortunately cropped screencap of a random event I had back in 2006. It and my scant few other subeta screenshots reminded me of just how much this site has changed in term of art direction and overall visual design, and now I'm kind of jonesing to relive some of the old content.

I don't think this was the first layout the site ever had, and I'm really hoping someone else might have pictures the ones that preceded this one, or even some uncropped shots similar to mine. Or, heck, even some of the site's mid-00s artwork. It had a very cartoonish charm to it that I admit I do sometimes miss!

Mauve (clothing rack shopkeeper) used to run to original wardrobe.

I don't think I was here for the Slushii - Cybill change, but I remember seeing it mentioned a lot.

The Item Identifier game, and you weren't allowed to ask for help with it. Which meant you couldn't ask for help identifying an item AT ALL in case you were cheating at the game.

Easter tickets! And Rah's Easter Bunny, which got stolen by pretty much everyone looking for an Easter Bunny pic, including the creator of a certain abridged series (it's actually how I discovered YGOTAS xD).

There were still Trivias, Donation Presents only gave out random items, and... Pantheon Potion was one of the funniest April's Fools, lmao

I still remember the first Unliving Apocalypse. I got boobitis.

And the wardrobe, of course, wasn't as developed as it is nowadays. Only 1 item per layer, backgrounds had to be drawn around the base, facial features couldn't be removed/layered down, standard hairstyles couldn't be customized to the same extent as they can now (I'm still waiting for something similar with bases!), costume trunks were more like full costumes than separate items...

Also, the lags and downtimes. If people complain about a small downtime or two nowadays, they needed to see how it was like 10 years ago. Whew. Good thing it doesn't happen as frequently anymore.

I miss the oekaki. I still remember Keiths 16th birthday lmao

Oh man! I stumbled upon Subeta when there was not much to do in the beginning. I miss the trivia's, those where fun. I remember when the safe code was the same and someone would guess it and then it was a race to get it in before everyone else. Such good times!
