(Sorry, we aren't accepting new members or characters anymore to make sure everyone gets a fair chance. Feel free to read along and root for your favourites however!)

Introduction
Ah, the perfect evening to a perfect cruise has just begun. You sit around with the other voyagers that accompanied you on a fabulous trip around a private island. Miss Aldridge, a welcoming billionaire (and somewhat eccentric,) has even invited you all to a banquet in her island home. The large and adorned table is filled with exquisite, exotic food that you can't even bear to try and put a price on, and everyone seems to have had a great time.

Peeling your eyes away from the mouthwatering food that lays before you, you notice that the room is filled with its fair share of characters. You catch an earful of two individuals near you discussing topics in physics and guess that they hold some intellectual importance within their field. After all, there has to be a reason why Miss Aldridge has brought you all here. You take a peek at the other side of the table and some other scraggly individuals and suddenly have second doubts. There also appear to be some ordinary folks mixed in as well. You shake off the notion that a billionaire would just up and invite random people off the street and figure they all have something unique to offer. Suddenly, a familiar face shows itself at the end of the gleaming table of oh so majestic food.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I hope you've all fattened yourselves up with this buffet," says the carefree billionaire with a giggle towards the end, "It would be such a waste if you didn't eat all you can."

She sits herself down and joins in on the feast, but nobody goes back to talking just yet. "Some of you I've met in person, some of you I'm meeting for the first time. But, I can guarantee from my employees that you all are great individuals. That's why I've brought you here. No matter how you got here, invitation, contest, or otherwise, I want you all to feel like equals. You all hold the same purpose to me."

"You can probably all tell I've got a lot of money. But money doesn't have movement, emotion, or even thought. Money can buy you almost anything you desire, but it does have its limits. The same goes with animals. And, as time has moved on, I've been feeling well, bored. Thankfully I can always turn to you trusty humans for all things that money and animals lack. I've always been a woman of sport, and what a more complex and intriguing thing to play with than something with intelligence on par with your own? I really do hope you don't disappoint me. Right now you haven't paid a dime for what I've offered you. Think of this as your payment."

A feeling of utter terror filled your body as what you thought was a pleasant human being cruelly winked at the crowd's misfortune.

"Don't worry, it doesn't start now. I'll let you have a good night's sleep. But, come morning, my mansion's doors will open up and you'll be on your own on my island. There's only one way off if you don't want to end up being my hunting trophy, and that's the ferry that I've offered anyone who can outwit me to go back to civilization to. I'd like to think that makes us equal. But~ trips off the island only start after the third day. So, your goal is to stay here 3 days without getting caught by me and getting to the boats. Oh, I feel like we're going to have so much fun! I'll hopefully see you all soon!"

And with that, she giggled one last time, waved in her grotesquely cute manner, and left the dining room.

FAQ and Rules Not only is this a survival RP, but the "players" on this island will have between 3 choices to make at the end of the day in an a,b,c fashion. There will always be one negative outcome from the three. The other two can be positive or neutral. Think carefully about which action to choose.

(ex from the above intro: a. head south towards the thick tree growth, b. head east towards the ferry, c. stay in the mansion)

These choices are kind of like guides to try and deduce where the hunter might want to go next and ensure your survival. However, you don't need to stick to the book. For example, if you picked to go south, you could say "[character] headed south into the tree bush, where [character] immediately tried to find a sharp stick to defend themselves with" (just maybe with fancier writing skills.)

This doesn't have to be 1x1 if you don't want to! See other people taking the same choice? You can try talking and teaming up with them!

Rules:

 • This RP does involve the possibility death. If you get captured, there might be a way out, but please know death is an option.
 • Because death is possible, users can have more than one character, but I would like to limit it at 3. 1-2 characters would be ideal.
 • Please keep characters within the human realm of abilities. Mind reading is cool and all, but you can predict everything, or change the weather, or teleport, well, what's the reason you're here?
 • Please stick with the a,b,c, choices. You can write your post around it, but don't suddenly go off onto the beach and you find an abandoned ship and sail off into the sunset.
 • Users will have 3? days (RL time) to post with their a,b,c, choice. This is so the plot can keep going but users who don't play Subeta every day can still keep up without being spoiled on what happens next c: Those who are active can keep posting dialogue, or split their posts daily between their characters if they have more than one.
 • Minimum of 3 sentences per post
 • Any literary level goes! Whether you're new or advanced, please feel free to join us!
 • OOC comments must be made within (single) or ((double brackets))
 • Character profile: Name: Age: 15+ Gender: (Optional) Appearance: (Image optional) Personality: History: Other: (Optional)
 • And of course, no PPing or GMing, must be PG 13 and under, and all of Subeta's rules apply!

(Day 1 is here! You have until Sunday to get your choice in! New players and characters still welcome!)

Day 1
It was hard to get back to eating after Miss Aldridge left. The food, what you might've thought only the best chefs could procure, turned into a pile of vile nastiness. You took what few bites you could muster, but you couldn't shake off the bitterness and sourness of every bite. The group of you left shortly after to your sleeping chambers. The night seemed to stretch on, with the only sound coming from your scared lonely heart. But just like that, the morning light suddenly danced into your room, and you wished the night could've lasted longer.

An announcement sounded, "Good morning, sleepyheads! Rise and shine, we've got a big day ahead of us! I won't tolerate any laziness, so get up and get moving!"

Those who didn't come willfully got dragged out of their rooms and into the common room, which you assumed led straight out into the unforgiving wilderness just beyond its large oak doors. Two "henchmen," the only appropriate word you could think of, stood in front and body checked the lot of you. Any concealed weapons, IDs, or unimportant belongings were taken and tossed in individual baggies in exchange for a backpack which carried a rope, blanket, flashlight, bottle of water, and a small knife. On the wall behind them was a large map of the entire island. It looked like the mansion was almost exactly North, while the ferry was almost exactly East. At least navigation wasn't a problem since the island appeared to be fairly round. You took note that the lower half of the island was more dense than the above half, most likely meaning more trees. Was it Miss Aldridge's idea to have more complex terrain, or did she buy out the island before it was completely deforested?

Well, no time to dwell on the matter. The men, one who you recall Miss Aldridge calling Carlos and the other Jasper, moved over to the large oak doors and spoke, "Y'have until noon to run an' hide before the missus comes a'runnin' for y'all." "See you soon, heh." "R'member, y'all have 3 days before the ferry comes. Tryin' ta swim off this island ain't happenin', so you're stuck until then. G'luck."

And with that, the sudden brightness of the sun blinds you for a moment before your eyes adjust to the wide open doors and the island beyond. This is it!

You have the following choices: A. Stay close to the mansion. It's so obvious, she won't see it coming! B. Head over to the East by the ferry. There should be some cover while you wait out the 3 days before it arrives. C. Head South into the trees. The dense growth will provide the ideal cover.

I'm gonna add a 2nd character. ((totally missed the part where it said we can have more than 1))

Name: Circe Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: white blond hair, green eyes Personality: Shy and to herself. History: Circe's lived her life in foster care and is used to getting pushed around by the bigger kids. Working hard in school, she managed to turn her life mostly around....well MOSTLY.

And now my choices for both girls.
A
Circe's green eyes took in the surroundings in a semi-shock. Which way-which way to go? The trees to the south immediately caught her eyes yet something in her resisted the idea. With a gulp, she turned and headed towards the back end of the mansion; it was time to find a spot to hide, preferably a spot where she could see if someone was coming and that gave her some cover. Maybe a tree...?

C
Dee wasted no time in running south for the trees. Trees meant cover and materials and that's what she needed right now. Rushing towards the growth, Dee set her goals in mind: 1) find some kind of cover; 2) set some hidden primitive tripwires in the area around to hear if someone comes; and 3) if there's time, gather some small sticks and stones for future use. Her mind set, Dee raced forward.

Zeke - (C) "Hello?," Zeke spoke as he looked out towards the island. "What? No breakfast first? C'mon, it's the most important part of the day? I'm a growing boy, ya know?," he sighed as he hugged the backpack that had been traded for the rest of his personal belongings. He was already missing his vlog camera. Zeke definitely didn not appreciate being manhandled all morning either. "This bee be crazy," he mumbled to himself before surveying his choice of direction. Going back to his room to sleep some more probably wasn't an option. He worn the backpack over one shoulder and scratched his head. His gaze then fell onto a young woman () who was headed south towards the forest area. "South. Makes sense. That seems to be the general direction that this cruise has headed in...," he talked aloud, but to himself. Making up his mind, he decided to pursue the female to the trees.

Wesley - (no choice yet) Wes stood amongst the crowd as he reflected back on how he got here. He had been perfectly content with just getting drunk and hooking up with random women at clubs, but somehow, Zeke had been able to talk him into going on this cruise to take his mind off...things. Stupid Zeke. If Zeke didn't get himself killed, Wes would probably kill the guy himself. Speaking of his friend, he searched the immediate area, but couldn't see the 23 year old. What a pal. Just goes off and doesn't even wait for me, he thought to himself as he hung around in front of the mansion, weighing his choices for minute.

Name: Andrew Pearce Age: 24 Gender: Male Appearance: 5’7” with a medium build. Has tan skin, expressive brown eyes, thick eyebrows, and curly black hair. Personality: Untrusting of others and even slightly unsure of himself, he nevertheless possesses a mean determination to survive. History: Born in California, he was the youngest member of his family, with three older brothers and one older sister. He grew up very introverted and reserved, and didn’t make many waves until he was seventeen years old and he admitted to his family that he was gay. His father and two of his older brothers were strongly opposed to this, so once he graduated from high school he moved away from his family, to Montana, to attend college. There he met the guy of his dreams, a football player named Collin Eckard, and they got engaged soon after they were both out of school. With the wedding fast approaching and Andrew becoming anxious over the rift it could cause in his family, his fiancé offered him a ticket he had just won for a once in a lifetime cruise/island get away where he could relax and clear his head. Andrew, thinking it would be good for him to get away from everything for a little while, agreed to go. Other: Determined to get back to his fiancé alive.

Isabelle watched others taking off. She was busy adjusting her backpack, perfectly as it should be (we don't want the weight to be off and it taking us down). Her eyes glanced at the map she was handed, though South into the dense forest looked to be a better idea Isabelle felt she knew better. Dense meant more possibilities for traps. Staying close to the mansion didn't seem to be right either. Many were already gone from the room. Only a few stragglers remained. With a deep breath, Isabelle headed out of the mansion and took off to the East. I haven't had to work like this in quite sometime, let's hope I still have it in me, she thought to herself.

(Choice C) As Andrew slung his backpack over his shoulder and stepped through the mansion doors, his heart raced in his chest, and sweat pooled on his brow. His brain was so hazy with fear that it was hard for him to plan out what to rationally do next. All he could think about was how unlikely and terrible the situation was. Was he going to die on this island and end up furnishing some rich lady’s dinning room? He gritted his teeth and forced himself to shake those types of thoughts out of his head. “Come on, focus Andrew!” He breathed, “You’re not going to die here! You have to make it back to Collin!” In his mind he only had three options for a next move, and he could already see the other vacationers quickly making their choices. As much as the idea disgusted him, he forced himself to close his eyes and take on the mindset of the hunter, rather than the hunted, as he knew this would be his best chance for survival. Should he hide near the mansion, he asked himself? No, the hunter would probably be able to follow the tracks that they all left, and quickly locate the ones lurking nearby. Should he go to where the ferry would be arriving? No, the hunter would recognize that as a hotspot, with everyone being so eager to leave as soon as possible and all. That left him with only one more option: flee into the woods. There could be any number of traps waiting for him, but at least he’d stand a better chance if he wasn’t out in the open. He opened his eyes and started jogging towards the dense greenery, moving in a zig-zag pattern which he prayed would be enough to throw the hunter off his trail. As he did so his eyes locked onto another guy with stylish blonde hair who happened to be going in the same direction (), and slightly ahead of them both, a young blonde haired woman () who he’d noticed had been one of the first people to bolt when they’d gotten out of the mansion. Part of him wondered if he should try and group up with the two of them. On the one hand, he would be easier to track if he was moving in a group. On the other hand, if he was going to die, he’d rather not die alone. He decided to wait and see if either of them noticed him.

Wesley - (B) Three days. That was a long time without a drink or smoke. Wes wasn't feeling the idea of being sober for this even though it would help him survive this "game". He eyed the map before deciding that he wanted to be near the ferry when it arrives. He would wait for Zeke there, assuming he's not already headed in that direction. Making his choice, the man headed east.

Zeke - (C) Zeke wasn't sure if he should try and catch up with the female in front of him. That is, if he could catch up at all. She would be into the trees before him and it wold be harder to find her. At the same time, it was a little scary having a guy chasing you, espeically given the circumstances. Zeke slowed down a bit when he noticed he wasn't alone behind the girl. There was another young man headed in the same direction. The guys looked about his age, which made him wonder if the rich lady only picked people within a certain age range. It would be pretty cruddy if there were elderlies or small children here.

"Hello?," Zeke greeted the other man (). "Nice day for a run, huh?," he grinned briefly, making small talk and pretending they were just two casual joggers jogging through the countryside. He was all about lightening the mood right now. Fear and/or stress was a great survival tool for some, but Zeke found he handled situations better when he's calm. "I'm Zeke," he smiled. Hey, if he was going to die, he'd at least make a new friend, assuming this guy was the friendly type. Friend. Oh, Shih Tzu! I forgot Wes. Zeke realized he had forgotten about his friend, but it was too late now. Hopefully, they both see each other again later. For now, he needed to focus on himself.

Aika awoke after hardly sleeping the night before. Her mind was fraught with the worries of what would come when morning arrived. She had faced countless dangers before, but these had always been in the face of the wild, animals or the elements. She had never faced a predator so fierce, on made of human flesh, with all the desires of man. But somehow lacking the inhibition that all animals contained. She had heard that humans were the most dangerous animal, she would have to wait and see. She pulled herself out of bed and stretched, feeling the sweet tension in her muscles before they relaxed. She grabbed her kinky brown hair between her palms and pulled it into a messy bun. She looked at herself in the mirror, admiring her athletic build. Her dark brown skin clung tightly to her muscles and her belly was firm below her black sports bra. She would survive. She had to survive. She was strong and she was smart, she assured herself. Before grabbing her pack and heading outside the mansion. She saw the group of people dividing into groups and heading out in different directions. She chose the safety of the forest, hoping for vantage points and to stay away from the ground. She moved in a direction away form the other survivors. She did not trust other people. Humans after all were the most dangerous animals.

(Note: Your decision will be an overnight one. Choose carefully!)

Choice A As Circe waited in the tree around the other side of the mansion, a faint sound of footsteps could be heard around the time of noon. Unfortunately, the footsteps grew louder until an outline of a figure was seen coming toward the tree and a female voice called out.

"Ahah, dearie, did you really expect to hide from me so close to my mansion? It is a mansion after all. I have surveillance built around it just in case some low life pirate spotted it and decided to steal all my things. It'd be very bad if that happened."

Miss Aldridge took aim at Circe with her prized rifle and took one confident shot. However, something unexpected happened. To help climb the tree Circe had out her hunting knife, and the bullet ricocheted off into the nearby sand. The bullet hit unfortunately knocked Circe out of the tree and her blade had been ruined.

"Jesus Christ! What the-" said Miss Aldridge as the bounce back of the bullet surprised her, and she too fell on her back. She briskly sat up only to see Circe run for her life towards the shore nearby, firing another two rounds as fast as possible towards her. One directly hit Circe's calf, but by that time she had already reached the water and dove in.

Jasper and Carlos came running around the side of the mansion, "Missus, are you 'right? We heard you yellin'."

"I'm fine! Don't call me missus! I'm not married to you or anyone. I don't belong to no man. Anyways, the girl got lucky," she pointed to Circe, "but she's injured. Stay here and watch her. She can't go far with a wound in salt water. Catch her and put her in the cell. I'll deal with her later."

With the searing pain of salt water on her fresh wound and backpack weighing her down, Circe struggled to swim very far. She was incredibly lucky that she wasn't killed on the spot. Beginner's luck? But now she faces a dire situation, with the two henchmen combing the nearby beach and waiting for the tide to bring her in again.

You have the following choices: A. Take a gamble and let the ocean current take you somewhere else. It might move you to the West of the island. B. Stay here until nightfall. Your wound hurts badly though, and you don't know what's in these waters. C. Give up. The two henchmen will take you to a "cell," and Miss Aldridge seems more preoccupied with something else than you.

Choice B Those who decided to stay by the ferry were the first to hear faint gunshots in the distance. You let out a soft sigh and thanked that Miss Aldridge didn't head here first, but it sounds like it was at somebody's expense. You took a quick gander at the position of the sun. It must've been an hour or two past noon, which meant Miss Aldridge was somewhere in the vicinity of the mansion. For now you were safe, but you also know that she wasn't busying herself in the forest of the South. Where would she go next? Would it be safe to camp here until evening?

You have the following choices: A. Camp right here. You can't lose sight of the ferry now that you're so close to it. B. Move West. You can't recall seeing any attraction in the West, and it might not be the first place a person would look. C. Move South. You know she isn't in the forest at the current moment, so it's not too late to get better cover.

Choice C The forest wasn't at all what you were expecting. It was like a cross between a jungle and a forest. Something in between. The air was muggy once inside, and the peculiar trees had a light coating of sticky resin. The resin itself wasn't coming from the bark, but dripping down from the leaves. Are these... carnivorous trees? Does everything here want to kill something else? Unfortunately, due to the humidity, the ground was also moist with water. You turn back to see that you have horrifyingly left footprints in the muck. However, it did offer exceptional cover. There was little to no wind, which meant smell couldn't be wafted from afar as well.

You have the following choices: A. Travel by trees. It will be noisier, but you won't leave behind footprints. B. Travel by foot to your ideal destination. It's faster than the trees, which might be useful to put a distance between you and that crazy woman. C. Get out of this gunky forest and head either East or West. No matter what you do in the forest she's sure to track you down.

(You have until Wednesday to make your choice! Things are getting interesting, wouldn't you say? ;) Feel free to read all the outcomes above if you're interested in what happened to the others! REMINDER: This decision will be an overnight one. Choose carefully!)

For Dee - B The idea of moving forward by the trees appealed to Dee but the logical part of her mind disagreed. A fall from that height would mean death or a serious injury, the going would be very slow, and the trees themselves looked a tad bit too suspicious for her liking. It would be best to go by food. Yes, she's leave footprints but it would be much quicker. Picking up a long stick, Dee formed her strategy:

 1. go as fast as she could via ground using the flashlight to guide her and the stick to poke anything suspicious.
 2. if possible, walk over leaves of patches of plants to hide parts of her footsteps
 3. if she found a river that wasn't too swift, go up or downstream (whichever direction was easier) for a while before getting out to hide her trail further.

For Circe - A Her leg hurt badly but the pain only served to focus her, just like it always had when she was growing up. It had been close, too close. But she had managed to escape for now. She could see the two men prowling the beach, waiting for her. Going over would ensure her death. She could always wait it out in the water, but who was to say the men would give up? And furthermore if there were any sharks in the water, they'd be sure to smell the blood still dripping from her calf. There was only one chance: she'd take a gamble and let the ocean current take her somewhere else - anywhere had to be better than here.

Seriously? We’re running for our lives from a sadistic serial killer and this guy is trying to make small talk with me?! That was all Andrew could think as the guy, who’d just introduced himself as Zeke, ran alongside him. Some people I will just never understand, he decided with an internal shrug. Still, he returned Zeke’s smile, and hoped his grin was more convincing than it felt. In truth he was not only apprehensive about the situation they were in, but also about interacting with a complete stranger. He’d never been too good with people.

He realized a few seconds had passed and he still hadn’t introduced himself. “I’m C-” He choked, as he almost blurted out the name of fiancé. “Andrew. I’m Andrew,” He quickly corrected. He hoped Zeke hadn’t picked up on his little slip-up. Luckily it seemed like the guy had something else on his mind, as a look of concern appeared to briefly cross his face, as if he’d just remembered something important. Then he shook it off.

Without many words exchanged, the two of them delved into the forest, where the heavy canopy above them quickly blocked out the sky, leaving them in nearly complete darkness. The ground beneath them changed, turning more wet and sticky, and the air became thick with moisture. As hard as Andrew tried to hide his footprints, it just wasn’t possible in the muddy terrain. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea after all, he thought to himself. He hesitantly turned to Zeke. “Um…” He stammered, “Should we maybe rethink our escape plan?”

Wesley - (B) Wes stopped and turned his head towards the faint sound of the gunshots. Somewhere, something was happening. It sounded close to the mansion. That gave him time. As far as he could tell, Zeke hadn't gone this way. If he did, he was really good at keeping himself out of sight. Somehow, he needed to survive until the ferry came. Wes kneeled down for a moment to check the contents of his backpack. Rope. Blanket. Flashlight. A bottle of water. And a knife. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was more than generous that she even gave them anything. He stood back up and considered his options.

Camping out here seemed too obvious. Would he really be lucky enough to just camp here until the ferry arrives? He doubt it. He could go to the forest down south. That was probably where Zeke was if he wasn't around here somewhere. Wes gave his friend the benefit of the doubt and assumed he didn't stay near the mansion. Finally deciding, Wes headed west. There wasn't really anything of interest that way and maybe it would be the last place to be checked.

Zeke - (deciding...) His new friend introduced himself as Andrew. There was a moment where it seemed like Andrew was going to say something different, but Zeke wasn't sure if he was imagining it. Or maybe Andrew was not his real name. Maybe Andrew didn't trust him. He couldn't blame the guy. They only just met and the circumstance was a bit sketchy. Zeke dismissed that being the case since hiding one's name didn't really serve much purpose.

Before he knew it, it had gotten dark. The terrain had completely changed. The sky was almost entirely consumed by the dense canopy. While the trees provided great cover, they were also somewhat ominous. When Andrew made a comment about rethinking their plan, Zeke looked down at the ground. Footprints. Yeah, that wasn't good. Not all of them were theirs though. The female that was ahead of them was nowhere in sight thanks to the thick forest, but her footprints gave away the general direction she went in. The blonde quickly kicked away and covered her tracks with his own as best he could. It was a small thing, but he figured he would help her out a bit. He then looked to Andrew () and sighed. "Well, I can think of two things. We can backtrack. Like carefully walk backwards out of here and make the huntress believe we went in this way. OR we can make a u-turn and pretend to leave the forest but actually reverse back in and then climb up. We can navigate the forest on top the trees. How do you feel about heights?," Zeke asked as he peered up, surveying how high the trees were.

Aika approached the forest carefully feeling the climate change drastically the closer she got. She heard a squishing sound as she crept up. Noting that the ground became moist and marshy. She disliked the noise that the ground was making as she moved. It made her feel vulnerable. She looked back noting that the mud was leaving footprints giving away her position. She moved further into the forest, crossing back to leave mismatched footprints in a confusing pattern, sizing up the forest as she went moved. She chose a large tree with thick branches and paused briefly below it. She reached her palms into the cool mud, grabbing a handful and wiping the dark substance under her armpits, face and neck to mask her scent. She hoped that the mud would cool her down and keep her from losing too much water.

Though at heart she was glad that this was the type of forest she ended up in. From her experience and warm forest meant lots of life, prey items and a high chance of rain or at least water. But it also meant predators could be present. She decided to take to the trees, climbing up the base of the into the branches and moving form tree to tree. She moved quickly at first to keep distance from her and the mansion. Then as she got deeper into the forest she climber up higher, trying to get a vantage point to get a view of the forest.

From the tops of the tree she couldn't see much, but she could estimate where the water might be. She spent some time with her pocket knife sawing away at a nearby vine, and sharpening a branch into a spear. Picking a large tree with thick branches to hide her, she turned in for the night, using the vine to secure herself to the tree.
