(Choice A)
As Zeke laid out their options, Andrew thought them over. Either they could go back the way they’d come, which would render the entire endeavor a gigantic waste of time and energy, or they could try to fake the huntress out and then travel through the trees instead of by ground. Andrew glanced up, analyzing the interlocking branches that twisted above them. Climbing around up there would definitely be possible, although it did pose a good deal of danger. A fall from the higher branches could result in injury, and serious or otherwise, in this game, even the slightest infirmity could surely mean death.
“How do you feel about heights?” Zeke () asked him.
Andrew bit his lip. He’d never been the biggest fan of heights, ever since he’d fallen off his jungle gym as a little kid. One of his knees had landed a rock, and he’d needed to get eight stitches. He still had a bit of a scar where it had happened. Still- “It’s not the worst idea,” He admitted, deciding that the benefits of traveling through the canopy probably outweighed the risks. It would be a good way to throw Miss Aldridge off their tail, as long as they stuck to the thicker branches which would make less noise as they traversed them.
“Yeah, why don’t we stick with your U-turn then tree climbing plan for now,” He nodded at Zeke. “Hopefully at some point the terrain will improve or we’ll find a river to cover our tracks, but until then it’ll work.”
Zeke -(A) () "Alrighty then, it's decided," Zeke turned around and started walking back out of the forest, leaving a visible trail while also making sure passed close to a tree. At the edge of the forest-jungle hydbrid, Zeke stopped. Carefully, he reversed into his previous footprints to the nearest climbable tree. As he placed a hand on it, he immediately felt a moist, sappy liquid running down the bark.
"Hello?," he uttered in disgust. "What is this stuff? Gross," he sighed as he quickly dried his hand off on a leg of his pants. He then resumed climbing up the tree with a bit of caution as to avoid more of the strange sticky substance. Once he was high up in the branches, he just started traversing his way from branch to branch, whichever ones were in reach. "Yo Andrew, you don't happen to have any boy scout skills, do ya?," Zeke asked casually as he moved along. There were actually a few things he was curious about, but he wanted to do his best to avoid too much chitchat to minimize being heard by Aldridge or any other unwanted predators. Of course, not talking was hard for him since he was just chatty by nature. "The ferry comes in three days so somehow we're going to have to survive that long." The thought made Zeke sweat a bit. Or it could also be how muggy it was. More likely the latter.
( Today's the last day for your decisions! still need your choice o: I hope everyone is ready for what's going to happen overnight ;) )
(I meant to last night but the toddler decided it was party night instead and stayed up until 4 am. The joy of toddlers. Sigh.)
Choice B-
Isabelle saw that she wasn't the only one who went East. When the gun shots rang out, she gasped but was relieved they weren't close to her. The area was easy enough for her to navigate but she knew that staying this close wouldn't be the best bet. The West looked empty enough, that could be the trap though. Her innate fear of jungles and forests made the decision for her though.
She was hopeful that she would be able to find something to make a rudimentary shelter with, a blanket was great, however she didn't want to be exposed.
(I feel your pain, Alaeza :c Nothing worse than a toddler who thinks they can rule the world, lol. OK, apparently I wrote so much that it won't load it. I'll try editing it in.)
( Things are getting intense! o: These events transpired in the early morning hours [around 4-5am,] so your next choices will be for late morning [around 10-11am.] You have until Saturday to make a decision. Choose wisely!)
Circe
The night was spent in a semi-awake state, neither sleeping nor completely aware as the blood loss was starting to make Circe feel dizzy and light-headed. However, her intuition about going with the current wasn't wrong. She only peered up to check her surroundings for a moment and squinted through the darkness. She could be wrong, but there was no sign of the mansion in the slightly distant island. She didn't know how much longer she could spend out in the water and decided to head for the land. Once on the shore, she had to make a decision on what was the most important. She had no clue on her exact position except that it was somewhere to the west. Still, she needed a bit of time to sort through her thoughts.
You have the following choices: A. Remain on the shore and mend your leg. You have no clue where you are and you will be exposed, but if Miss Aldridge doesn't kill you an infection will. B. Worry about the leg later and head inward. You have to keep moving so Miss Aldridge doesn't find you again. C. Drag yourself to the nearest large shrub and rest. You are exhausted from swimming and you need to regain your strength. The shrub should give you a little cover.
Wes and Isabelle
Perhaps leaving the ferry was the best choice. Your journey to the west of the island was unexpectedly calm, and the best part was Miss Aldridge wasn't around. The only thing that set off your paranoia was the lack of cover: you were exposed more than half the time. You felt that traveling throughout the night was your best bet, but you stopped when you saw a dense patch of trees to nap a few hours to not go totally insane from sleep deprivation. However, a noise alerted you when you woke back up. There was at least one other person around here. Cautiously, you crept around the brush and to your great relief, it wasn't Miss Aldridge or her henchmen. You both gave a nod of acknowledgement to each other before setting off again.
By now, you've both reached what you feel like the west end of the island. In the early hours of the morning, it appeared almost like a cliff where the land stopped. The ocean and sky merged on the horizon. If you weren't running for your life this sight would have been unimaginably beautiful. A strange dark object in the water swam to shore which confirmed that the endless sky was just an illusion, but what was that thing? A long hard (and squinty) stare revealed that it was another survivor of the island like yourself. The tiniest speck of red caught your eye. Blood. For whatever reason, that person was injured, and now you're torn inside on what to do next.
You have the following choices: A. Head back East. A person wouldn't harm themselves when they're trying to survive. Granted they might have gone insane or something, but it most likely came from Miss Aldridge, who might be nearby to finish them off. The trip here offered little coverage, but you already made it across the island once after all. B. Keep to yourself. An injured person would just slow you down and make you more vulnerable. C. Approach the person and see if you can offer help. The shore offered little to no cover and you might be spotted, but it's what an honest soul would do for another human.
Andrew and Zeke
"Hum. These guys are smart cookies." Aldridge scanned the ferry area and concluded that whatever travelers were here thought better to stay in the area. "This is exactly what I was hoping for!~" she shouted excitedly before heading in the direction of the forest.
Surprisingly, you both managed to navigate the trees without falling. The sap was probably the most surprising, as you both found it useful to hold onto the branches better, which relieved you very much when traveling through the night. Who knew? And now you didn't have muddy tracks telling Aldridge exactly where you were hiding! Yes! You both were just looking around to find the perfect tree to bunker up for the night when you heard the sound of mucky footsteps creeping beneath your branches. Miss Aldridge crept below the two of you with some sort of weapon in her hands. How did she- the girl must have went through here and left her footprints, oh God. You couldn't help yourself and started to quiver with fear. You held tightly onto your branches and held your breath, praying that you made no sound.
CRACK! Your heart stopped.
Miss Aldridge turned and faced the trees behind her where she heard the noise took aim. "Ah, I knew it. They split up in the forest. There were three distinct sets of footprints at the entrance. Thought they could fool me, heh. How sneaky. Since I don't want to give away my position, best to use this crossbow for him," Aldridge thought for a moment before firing a swift arrow, and then waited. And waited. And waited.
If felt like she had been waiting the whole night. You still refused to budge. You'd stand here like stone. You were not dying to the hands of her.
"Hm, perhaps I was wrong. Must've been a bird or something. If it was a human they should've cracked by now with my arrow. Maybe another for good measure? No. I'm not going to have extra arrows lying around for people to find, and it's more worthwhile using them on that girl." Miss Aldridge gave up with whatever was in the trees and went back to tracking her original target.
You did it! Somehow, you both did it! And now you have an arrow to boot! You- oh. The arrow wasn't completely off target, and went through Andrew's left forearm. You were bewildered how it only hit the arm. Where miss Aldridge was, two more inches to the left and she would've hit the neck. Her precision sent a chill down your spine. But now was not the time to cower in fear, you needed to survive.
You have the following choices: A. Stay where you are. You would make little to no noise, and you could try and get a proper sleep and regain your strength. B. Get the hell out of that forest. You just barely avoided death, and you know she'll be running around here for a while. C. Split up and move elsewhere in the forest. Having a party of two or more is just too risky. Best be off by yourself.
Dee and Aika
After the encounter in the trees, Miss Aldridge decided to follow the small footprints of what she assumed was a girl. She was halfway through the forest and the trees were getting larger. However, the tracks suddenly criss-crossed and looped around, unlike what they've been doing earlier in the forest. "Ah, I was wrong. Looks like there's at least four people in the forest, not three," she thought to herself as she examined the tracks closer, "Oh, who should I choose? Maybe both?~"
She almost missed the slight mud on a large tree. This tree was ideal for scouting the area around, but the height would work against them in the night. Miss Aldridge turned to her tranquilizer with a scope, looking from branch to branch in the hopes of spotting someone among them. And there she was, almost blended into the dark tree behind her. If Aldridge didn't know what she was looking for she would have looked right past her. She took aim and fired her tranquilizer at Aika, followed by an arrow to her shoulder. She wasn't about to climb up this tree herself to get her down, so she instead drowsed her to stay put and stuck a tracking device to the tree. Jasper and Carlos would be on their way shortly.
Her next target was a real pain to track. This girl was a beast at walking. Still, she had to stop at some point to rest in the night. Her downfall was her footprints, which Aldridge finally managed to catch up with.
"Good to see you again, Dee. Taking a rest? You know I really do enjoy your work. One part of me kind of wishes that you made it off the island. Then again, I've never had a scientist of your caliber in my collection.~"
You were paralyzed when you heard the voice from behind you. How did she track you all the way through the forest? You put so much distance between you both that you've nearly exhausted yourself. Miss Aldridge... she... she had to be inhuman. How could she get here so fast?
The billionaire let out a yawn, "I've been up all night thanks to you. I think this is the most distance a tourist like yourself put between themselves and the mansion on the first night. I congratulate you on setting a record."
Tourist? Really? Dee snapped out of her paralysis withdrew her hunting knife. She wasn't going down without a fight. She first threw her stick like a javelin and rocketed towards her target, wrestling Aldridge to the ground. She was going for the throat, if only she could -
An sharp pain when through her side and Dee looked down to see a tranquilizer dart lodged within it. The battle was over from then. Aldridge tossed Dee to the side as the tranquilizer started to kick in.
The next thing Aika and Dee both knew, they were in the mansion again. Any wounds sustained were patched up, and a hot meal was awaiting them both in what appeared to be a small... room? No, as extravagantly furnished it was, this was a holding cell. Two cameras at each corner rotated to keep the two of them monitored at all times.
What was a large mirror suddenly turned into a window. A double sided mirror, of course, and one of the two henchmen stood behind it. "Good... well mornin' I'd say. Sun's gonna come up soon I reckon'. I'm afraid you've both lost. The missu- I mean Miss Aldridge will be comin' round in a day or two to take care of you lot. Please enjoy yer stay. If ya need an'thin' just give us a holler."
You've... lost? How could you possibly enjoy your stay knowing that you'll inevitably die once she devil came back? Aika went and reached for the door to find it astonishingly opened. "JESUS CHRIST CARLOS YOU FERGOT T'LOCK THE DOOR!" You both tried to run through the door when one of the men tackled you in the doorway and knocked the wind out of both of you. Hmm... maybe there was still a way out of here with two idiots like these.
You have the following choices: A. Work together to come up with an escape plan. With the two of you thinking together, you might be able to outwit these chaps. B. Wait and see. You haven't been around long enough to gather any valuable information on how to escape. C. Try and seduce the two men with your amazing feminine charms. You don't know if maybe they're somehow involved with Aldridge already, but it's worth a shot, right?
Aika sat in the tree, feeling the dart enter her shoulder she felt a numbness come over her and she tried to untie herself from the tree. then it all went dark.
She awoke in a cell, she felt cold and shivered a bit as she awoke. She noticed another woman in the cell, huddled in the corner. "Hello" She mumbled to the woman. "How did you end up here?" She put her arm out, to help the woman up. Then she noticed the door left open. She pulled the woman up and they both dashed out. Getting tackled in the process by a large dim-witted man. She gasped for breath as her chest was crushed under the weight of the man. She blacked out, again feeling the cold embrace of darkness.
She woke again her head screaming at her with mind-splitting pain. The gate was closed again and locked. The other woman was still there having been knocked out by the men as well. She paused for a moment analyzing the situation. The men seemed quite dim witted and she was sure that her and the woman could outsmart them. She doubted they could over power them. She bent down to talk to the other woman. "Lets get out of here."
Dee (A) Dee nodded in reply; their two captors did not seem too bright at all. With them both working together and observing their surroundings, perhaps they could find a way to escape before that monster of a woman returned. Two heads were better than one in the end. And if worst came to worst, well she had outlasted the other girl before - she'd just have to do it again.
Circe (B) It took a lot of willpower to move from the beach but it was far too risky for Circe to stay exposed out there. An infection might set in but it shouldn't kill her right away; she would mend her leg in a little bit. Right now she needed a bit of cover before attempting to do anything. A bush, a tree; anything would do. Gathering her strength, she headed inward to find a safer spot to rest and mend.
Choice B
() Andrew had to cup his right hand over his mouth to keep himself from screaming in shock. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he stared down, wide eyed, at the crossbow bolt sticking clean through his left forearm. His brain had been so overcome with adrenaline as Miss Aldridge closed in on their location that he’d barely even felt it lodge. He’d heard a loud THWACK, before feeling a cold pressure, as if someone with icy hands was squeezing his arm as hard as they could. Still, he’d told himself that it was just his muscles locking up from fear, and when the huntress’s footsteps had finally begun receding into the distance, all he’d been able to think about was how unbelievably lucky they were that she’d somehow given up on them. But now… how was he going to survive on this island with one less arm at his disposal?
He’d been so stupid. So unbelievably stupid! Traveling with a partner even though he knew it would make them easier to track, picking the mucky forest as a hiding place! Every choice he’d made had led him right to where he was, bleeding out in some tree, with a guy he barely even knew. And his biggest mistake of all? Telling himself that he’d ever even stood a chance in this death game, when his entire life, he’d always done the wrong thing at the wrong time.
He gritted his teeth and used his right hand to wipe the tears off of his face. Get a hold of yourself! He was still alive, and that meant he still had a chance, didn’t it? He decided right there and then that he was going to get off this wretched island, if only to prove that maybe just once he could actually do something right for a change. It wasn’t about getting back to his fiancé anymore, it wasn’t even about beating Miss Aldridge. This fight was between him and God, and it had been a long time coming.
He turned to Zeke. “I’m getting the hell out of this forest. Are you coming or not?”
( I'm extending the decision deadline until Sunday, because I work until 4 pm and might be going out after. Just so some of you guys aren't sitting around here waiting for the story to move forward, take it as a chance to RP with some of the other characters :) since you both decided on choice A feel free to come up with a plan among your characters since you know them better ^_^ I'll tweak the story around what you guys come up with if you do so!)
Meanwhile...
Zeke - (B) Being still was the hardest thing he had ever done. Zeke was made to move, and doing the opposite just wasn't his nature. However, somehow, he managed it. Success. They avoided being caught by the huntress, miraculously. He thought they were done for. He smiled a bit with a sigh of relief once he knew the Aldridge woman was out of the proximity. "Wow, that was close. How luck-," he stopped mid-sentence when he looked over to Andrew (). Shoot, he cursed in his mind when he saw the arrow that was sticking through the other guy's arm.
Before Zeke could say anything else, Andrew seemed determined to get out of the forest. He couldn't blame him, and he was in no position to really argue at the moment. He felt it was partially his fault. He was the one to suggest the tree idea.
"Yeah, mate. I'm coming," he replied with a nod, meeting Andrew's eyes. It wasn't necessarily because he thought it was the best option, but he felt like he should stick with Andrew. After all, the guy was injured, and Zeke still felt two was better than one. "We need to figure out what to about that arrow. Take it out? It's still going to a while before we can get you any proper medical attention. I could remove the arrowhead and then pull it out, but we'd need to bandage it up quick. Actually, yeah, might be better to leave it in. Who knows. We might run to a medical expert on the island. That lady seems to have all sort of folks playing," Zeke bit his lower lips as he ran his hand through his hair, unsure about the situation. "Unless you just happen to be a doctor," Zeke added, realizing he didn't actually know what Andrew did for a living. Or anything other than his name really for that matter. First thing first though, they needed to get out of the trees.
Wesley - (C) It was a nice sight. If only this had been a normal cruise, he might have the luxury to actually enjoy the scenic views. Unfortunately, he had to worry about staying alive. He wasn't alone, though. There was another female that he had bumped into earlier. Maybe she was here now, too. He took a look around before noticing someone emerging from the ocean, struggling to shore. "What the...," he whispered to himself, squinting his eyes to focus on the mysterious person. He wasn't sure if he should get closer. It might be Aldridge. Or one of her henchmen. Could it be the woman he ran into earlier? No, it was someone else. He moved a bit closer to get a better look. Another survivor. They were injured. Did that mean Aldridge was nearby? He was torn. He needed to worry about himself. There was no way everyone could survive this, and if this person was injured, staying alive was just going to be more difficult.
However, he couldn't just ignore them. It wasn't him. He refused to let this game turn him into an uncaring person. His failed marriage had already taken too much of who he once was, he didn't need another thing destroying him. He made his decision and risked approaching the person to see if he could help.
Okay, so maybe getting out of this forest will prove more easily said that done, Andrew thought with a grimace. The pain in his arm was growing more intense by the second, reminding him of how hard it was going to be to climb down to the ground with his injury. Of course, waiting around in the tree for the blood lose to get to him definitely wasn’t any better of an option. Already the thick red liquid had more or less coated his arm, and was beginning to drip down through the tree branches. If Miss Aldridge caught sight of it, it would surely give them away.
Zeke (), who’d confirmed that he was onboard with Andrew’s plan, had begun assessing the situation. Without hesitation he started running off ideas for how they should treat his arm, as if he were thinking out loud. Wow, this guy really likes to talk, Andrew thought to himself for about the hundredth time. He had to admit though, it was pretty nice of Zeke to be putting so much thought into his survival, especially when his own was at stake as well. The guy had no reason to stick around, if anything Andrew was only putting him in more danger, but he’d decided to stay. Maybe he could be trusted after all.
Zeke had started running his hand through his hair “… Unless you just happen to be a doctor.” He was saying.
“Sorry, no such luck.” Andrew shrugged. Suddenly it occurred to him that he hadn’t been particularly forthcoming with his new friend. Without really knowing why, he blurted out: “Actually, I just got out of college. I, uh, majored in computer science. I want to be a computer engineer.”
Was that too much information? He didn’t have much time to think about it, as suddenly another thought occurred to him. All of the mud beneath them, he could use it to seal his wound! He was pretty sure he’d seen that on a survival show or something. Of course, he’d want to remove the arrow first, as Zeke had suggested. If he snapped off the end it would be easier, but then they would be destroying what might prove to be a valuable weapon.
“Okay, I have an idea,” He told Zeke, “We’re going to have to climb out of this tree so I can seal the hole in my arm with some mud. But first… you’ll have to pull out the arrow.”
Aika looked at the girl sitting down in the corner to think. She knew that the men were dim witted. But she was unsure if they still had the keys to their cell. She heard the men talking and came up with a plan. She aimed to distract the men. Possibly anger them, and bring them over to her. Hopefully the woman would be able to pick the keys from their pocket if they got close enough. Either that or she could get them to unlock the doors themselves. And find a way to prop the doors open without them noticing.
She looked at the food layed out for them. They must need them alive and healthy for some reason. Otherwise they would be dead already. She picked up a piece of the fruit and bread they left for her. She took a few bites then began to cough loudly. She bent over and curled up on the ground with her hands on her throat. She turned to the girl and winked before coughing even louder.
Zeke - (B) When Andrew () said he wasn't a doctor, Zeke expected that conversation to end there. However, much to his surprise, the other male revealed a bit more. He was a newly graduated computer science major. The guy had been so reserved up until this point, Zeke had not been prepared to learn anything about his traveling companion. "Oh," Zeke replied as it was the first natural response he had. Okay, not a doctor. But still the hard-working, smart type. Computer science is pretty tough, or so he had heard. Before Zeke commented on it, Andrew had already came up with an exit plan.
"Hello? What? You sure?," Zeke asked, sounding a bit too surprised that Andrew wanted him to pull out the arrow. Of course, Zeke was the one to offer and suggest it in the first place when he was thinking about what to do. He just wasn't expecting Andrew to trust him with pulling out the arrow. "I..um... sure, I can do that," he nodded, sounding nervous. However, his hands were sturdy. He has had practice over controlling his body, being an athlete. He placed both hands on the shaft. One to stabilize and the other to break the end off.
"I'm going to snap off the end first," Zeke said, taking a bit breath. Zeke figured they could just attached the arrowhead onto another stick or something later. Make a spear or something. He was more concerned about doing as little more damage to Andrew's arm as possible. The arm was already bleeding and pulling out the bolt would just be like opening a dam. Hopefully, Andrew's mud idea works. Zeke quickly broke the shaft and then stared into Andrew's eyes.
"On the count of three, I'm going to pull it out. It's probably going to hurt," he warned. "One...," and with that, he pulled the rest of the arrow out.
Andrew screamed like… well, like he’d just gotten an arrow ripped out of his arm. The pain was like nothing he could’ve ever imagined; he felt as though someone had taken a knife and was wriggling it around inside of his exposed flesh. With his right hand he balled up the front of his shirt and shoved it into his mouth, biting down as hard as he could to try and suppress the agony, and because he was vaguely aware that any more screaming might alert Miss Aldridge to their presence. It was impossible to think clearly through the pain, but he knew they didn’t have any time to waste, his arm had already begun bleeding harder, and the two of them needed to move. He began climbing down the tree, every branch he wrapped his left hand around teaching him a new meaning of the word suffering.
Everything was a daze, as if all of his senses had suddenly shut down. He couldn’t even see properly, all he could do was fumble blindly for one limb after another. Suddenly his hand happened to wrap around a branch where his blood had been collecting earlier, and his fingers slipped. He fell twelve feet, missing the tree’s lower branches by sheer luck. He landed with a SPLAT, as the muddy ground broke his fall. He blinked the stars out of his eyes, and stared up at the tree looming above him in confusion. How had he gotten on the ground again? It didn’t matter. He grabbed a handful of mud and began rubbing it over his wound. To his surprise, the mixture of the mud and the sticky tree sap that had coated his hands during his climb actually stopped the bleeding very well, hardening into a stiff, plaster like substance. With that done, his brain decided to take a break, and he briefly lost consciousness.
When he awoke, he recognized the blurry figure of Zeke () by his side. “Alright,” Andrew managed to choke out, still winded from his fall. “It’s time to go.”
sounds like a good plan.
Dee watched the other with mild interest. -it seemed like she had a plan. She nodded almost unperceptively and turned her attention to the door. It seemed like she was playing the role of thief. Good thing she had some practice in that field.
( Today's the last day to make/change your choices! I still need your choice ^_^ )
(Ahhh! Sorry, I never got the original alert, I was even looking for it! Then we were out of town Saturday and yesterday! You know I'm better than this! I'd say y'all can follow our shenanigans on FB but I don't want to bug people with a cute read: evil toddler)
C- Isabelle watched the male cautiously as he approached the other survivor. She had noted that the girl was bleeding. A chuckle escaped from her mouth at the coincidence of it and she started to walk over, tugging at the rip on her shirt to make it into a bandage. "Here, if we can staunch the bleeding, that would be our best bet," Isabella held out the fabric to the girl, "Do you need someone to do it for you?" She glanced around where they were and thought about their exposure, seeing the trail of blood, "We will need to get somewhere that we can't be tracked as easily though."
( Sorry for not updating last night. We don't have an AC up here yet and temperatures were hovering around 40 C all day yesterday, so I was mostly accessing Subeta by mobile.
Good news is that I'm updating it now! Yay! You will have until Friday to get your choices in! If you all get your choices in before then we can always do it ahead of schedule to reduce wait times ^_^ I hope you're all enjoying this rp so far!)
Circe
With no time to spare, you headed inward to try and get better cover for yourself. Over time, however, your strides became shorter, until eventually you slowed to a crawl. The adrenaline which pushed you on through the night and off the beach was starting to dwindle, and the pressure of walking was setting your leg aflame in pain with every step. You've lost coloration in your skin from the blood loss, and once again your head was starting to spin. A rest was long overdue for you and your body, and you've begun to succumb to the desire of sleep.
You will lose consciousness in the next round and will be unable to make a choice. Luckily, two strangers having risked their necks and approached you to help. They've roughly mended your leg and helped you walk. You don't know how long your body will let you stay awake for, but before you pass out you need to turn this situation into an advantage.
You have the following choices: A. Stop and tell the strangers all you know. If they have decided to help you, the information might be valuable for survival. B. Thank them for their kindness and take off on your own. Three's a crowd and you just need to find a safe spot to rest before you're ready to go again. C. Keep quiet and make sure you all get some decent cover. Stories can wait until after you recover, but first you all need to hide.
Wes and Isabelle
You both now know for certain this girl was obviously shot by the one and only huntress. After roughly patching her leg, you've taken care of the bleeding for the time being, but she will still need to get the bullet out later. Right now, both of you stuck your necks out and exposed yourselves. With the lack of trees, or anything really, and a trail of blood from the shore, you were in a grave situation. The girl herself was rather pale and exhausted. She will definitely pass out soon due to the blood loss, and you will basically be carrying her weight around for the time being. With the extra weight, you will no longer be able to go as great of distances as you've journeyed before. You both will definitely need to discuss the best course of action.
You stand up for a moment and observe your surroundings. You're not too far from the west shore, where you may be able to hunt for some fish. The forest canopy is just to the southeast, and if you head a little while northeast you should hit the mansion. All of these choices seem very tempting in their own ways, but you note that if you reach a disagreement one of the two of you might very well be stuck with the girl for the next little while.
You have the following choices: A. Head over to the trees. There will be enough dense brush and trees to guarantee coverage. B. Stay by the shore and cover up the blood. It's been quite a while since you've eaten and you do have a very useful hunting knife. C. Head over to the mansion. That was where you heard the gunshots yesterday around this time, and you doubt Miss Aldridge would camp out an entire day by her mansion.
Andrew and Zeke
You wasted no time heading out of that forest. Thinking logically, the direction Miss Aldridge last went, further into the forest, could only mean that she would most likely head back through the forest to get to her next destination. Granted she could always walk around the shore, but that would take longer. Either way, you didn't see her on the way out, which made both of you breathe a sigh of relief. Surprisingly, the sap and mud were doing their job in holding the blood in. The sap was causing some irritation, but you weren't all that surprised.
The forest was a lot larger than it looked, and with all the traveling you don't necessarily know where you were except "out of the forest." Navigating by the sun, there were really only three simple directions you could choose from unless you both wanted to end up going in circles.
You have the following choices: A. Head east to where you assume the ferry must be. Aldridge probably already checked out the area, so it might be safe to assume she wouldn't go back there so soon. B. Head north to the mansion. It's a risky move, she might top up her ammunition at some point, but hey, isn't every choice risky? C. Head west. You don't recall seeing anything particularly interesting there on the map, so it might be safe while you both wait for the ferry.
Dee and Aika
"I hope they like their meal. Can't go wrong with sandwiches and fruit, you know what I'm saying," Carlos said watching the girls both pick at their food through the double sided mirror. Suddenly, it all seemed so wrong. One of the two curled up on the floor.
"Jasper! JASPER! I think one of them is choking! Oh gosh I knew I should have made smaller slices!"
"What in th'devil did you make those san'wiches out of?! The missus wanted 'em for herself, not for you to kill 'em off with yer foul food!"
Without thinking, both of them ran into the room and surrounded Aika. They seemed really distraught about Aika choking, fumbling around trying to get her 'back to normal.' Dee danced around the nervous bunch trying to find the keys with no luck. It must've been a remote operated lock from the control room. With that, Dee gave up on the escape plan and sat back down, only to notice the door had been left wide open this entire time. Without hesitation, Dee whistled for Aika and the two bolted out the door as fast as they could. Aika, the last of the two, managed to close and lock the door behind them, giving some time to figure out where exactly in the mansion they were.
Stumbling around from corridor to corridor, they eventually found a familiar looking one that led to the large oak doors leading to the island. How funny it was that the once ominous doors now led them to their chance at salvation. With a lot of effort and strength, the two of them ran back out to try their luck again, knowing full well this might have been their last visit with lady luck. With their bags taken away, they also needed to think about how to get some resources.
You have the following choices: A. Head back to the forest. Aldridge is a huntress, and there's no way she would spend all her valuable time in the forest. B. Head east to the ferry. Aldridge has probably already been by the ferry on the first day to check for squatters; she wouldn't waste her time there on day two. C. Head west. There wasn't anything significant to the west, and it might be a good place to get/make some resources.
Everyone
"M-miss Aldridge, we need t'tell you somethin'," a quivering voice suddenly spoke from Aldridge's communication device.
"What is it, Jasper?"
"T-the two gals. T-they got... a-way."
Miss Aldridge blinked in disbelief before it turned into complete and utter rage. She screamed at the two men on the other side of the communicator before throwing it on the ground and shooting it to pieces with her gun. Smashing her tranquilizer on the trunk of a nearby tree, she pulled out a device from her belt strap and took a few moment to calm down.
It has now been a full day since you've been on this island, and you haven't eaten for at least 36 hours. You take this into account while you continue to decide your best course of action. In the afternoon sunlight of your second day, you realize you've only got to survive today and tomorrow before the ferry arrives. You feel the slightest sensation of optimism go through you as you head onward, until you hear a set of gunshots in the distance. A casualty? You ponder for a moment before a loud announcement rings in your ears:
"Hello there, my dears. I'm afraid I've been taking it easy on you lot, and after a full day of hunting I have nothing to show for it. I hope you all don't have this notion that being seen by me isn't the end. You see, I'm no longer carrying my tranquilizer. If I spot you, I'll shoot to kill. Ta-ta for now~"
Circe - A Circe, dizzy from blood loss, looked up wearily at her two saviors ( ). They had chosen to help her, a total stranger. This type of kindness was something she had not experienced in years. A part of her felt obligated to somehow return the favor. After introducing herself, she began to lay out what she knew - that Aldridge had cameras and surveillance around the mansion; how she had escaped into the ocean; how the men had watched her from the shore; how the currents had moved her to this shore (the direction of the flower); and how, although she had been tired and bleeding at the time, she hadn't seen any sharks or other dangerous creatures in the water...yet. Exhausted, Circe ended her talk with a faint plea - 'please don't leave me alone to die'.
((I'll do Dee later when I have more time))
Wesley - (A?) () "They're going to come looking for her...or at least her body," Wes spoke softly. There was a lot of uncertainty in his voice. The right choice would be to help the girl, who introduced herself as Circe () earlier. However, she was going to be liability until she regains consciousness...and that would affect his chance of surviving this whole ordeal. He scanned around and fixated his eyes on the forest to the southeast. He also considered going to the mansion. It was a gamble but maybe no one would there. There was the whole surveillance issue though and eventually, he knew the huntress would return to her den for whatever reason.
He was getting hungry. Actually, he was very hungry. The idea of raiding the mansion for food and supplies seemed tempting. He hadn't eaten anything since the game started. "We could head towards the trees. At least we'd have cover. Might be able to find something to eat in the forest, too. We could also stay here and fish, but I don't know any way we could cook the fish without creating some kind of signal that we're here, " he looked towards the other woman for input. He kept saying "we" but really, she didn't have to stick around with him. She seemed compassionate though, or else why would she come over to help the Circe.
Zeke - (?) It seemed like forever before Andrew () woke up. Zeke even had to check a few time to make sure the guy was still breathing. For all he knew, Andrew could have died due to blood loss or maybe due to some bacteria in the sap/mud. However, a sigh of relief escape Zeke's mouth when his travel buddy finally rose. "You scared me for a minute, mate. How are you feeling?," Zeke asked, just before the sounds of gunshots distracted him. It was followed by an announcement from their truly. "Hello?...I kinda already under the impression she was going to shoot to kill," he said as he gripped tightly onto the straps of his backpack and then looked to Andrew's muddy arm. "I have no idea where to go now. We could always go back to the mansion? It seems like she'll be out hunting so we could at least stake it out. Or we could wait near the ferry. Or west. Nothing is west so she wouldn't look there....but I feel like that's the obvious choice. We need to find food though. There's guaranteed to be food at the mansion. The alternative is we start hunting or fishing. I still have the arrowhead," Zeke remembered and pulled out the arrowhead he had broken off from the arrow. "We could make a spear or something."
