Hello battlers! We have a lot of exciting news for all (well, most) of you! That's right. LOTS of changes are coming! So without further ado, let's get to the list of things you'll be seeing in the near future.
Scroll revamp! This is beginning tonight, starting with the scrolls that can be created at the Secluded Shrine. They will be mostly cosmetic changes. Only a few are getting a full-on revamp. What do you mean by cosmetic, might you ask? Good question! What I mean by that is very small changes. Such as the lowering of AP needed to use the scroll. Or the addition of an extra icon or two. The whole goal was to make the AP costs appropriate for what the scrolls do. And I believe that has been accomplished.
There's one other thing that'll be changing with scrolls. Custom coding! Yup. We can do it with scrolls now, too! This will be used VERY sparingly though, primarily on opponent scrolls to make them more dynamic. Case in point, none of the Secluded Shrine scrolls will have custom coding. Any user scrolls that do receive custom coding will be listed at a later point, when it happens.
Curse options! This is something that was floated many, many years ago... long before and myself became BAs. The idea that a curse could limit the amount of weapons you could use in a given turn to just one. Or to prevent the use of scrolls for a turn or two. Well that is now a reality. Again, this is an opponent ONLY function. (Sorry, we will not be giving you guys access to something so powerful!) You can view this as a "partial freeze" from the opponent, that you cannot protect yourself from. This will also be used sparingly. Only on the strongest of opponents to make them a bit more interesting!
Opponent custom coding! Yup, this is also a reality. We can finally code opponent weapons to behave just like yours do! We can make opponents semi-intelligent. Well, we can make them evolve... is probably a better way to say it. What happens when opponent X, who has 500 base strength, hits 5000 strength? Who knows! Maybe opponent X will get weapons that can one-hit your pet. Probably not, but we can now code this. This is a LONG TERM project. It's undecided if all opponents will be getting the custom code treatment, or if they will be getting multiple tiers of it. I repeat,this is LONG TERM project.
Global stat cap! This is very much a niche thing, but useful for us nonetheless. We can set a (temporary) stat cap for all pets across Subeta to any number we'd like. Why would we use this? Well, think of it as a way to add some spice to global boss battles. We could easily drop the cap to 1k total stats and let everyone hack away! Seriously though, this will let us handle future stat cap raises better without having to alter the bosses as much, if at all. There will be no need for 10,000 icon KO weapons. Or the changing of the opponent mid-battle. The changes will be coming on the users side instead. A slightly more level playing field is better for whole of Subeta. Note that this will not alter your pets tier or the weapons they can bring into battle!
Loot drops beyond ten wins! I don't think much else needs to be said, but I will anyways. We can officially have loot beyond ten wins! And not just that, we can have "special" loot drops whenever and wherever we want! Naturally, this will require an opponent reset before it goes out. When it does go out, we will also be changing up the amount of EXP rewarded for wins after ten (the T13 stat costs we not taken into account when this was done initially). You wanted more Psycho Smasher scrolls from GE? Well this is how we'll be letting them out! This is the LAST thing that will be happening. All the others will be finished before this.
Okay, I think that's about everything. Pretty much all great things, right? I sure hope so. I will be amending the next post and pinging as things get pushed out etc. Up first though, part 1 of the scroll revamp!

How will global stat caps work? say you set it to 1k. many of us have well over 1k stats already. is that 1k of each stat or will it be picked which stats count towards that? I am really hoping there will be no global bosses with a low stat cap. that is really discouraging for people who have spent a lot of time and sP training their pets. Why have a level playing field when it comes to a boss battle? Global bosses are specifically for battlers, most of the prizes are battle related. There is no reason to level the playing field.
ANOTHER opponent reset? Can we only get wins over 10 floored down to 10? resetting them again completely seems a bit overkill.

No idea on multiple weapon sets. Believe me, I want them too.
Global stat cap will reduce pets stats down by percentage. Say a pet has 10k hp, 5 str, def and speed. I set the cap to... 12.5k stats. The pet, after entering battle, will have 5k hp, 2.5k str, def and speed.
I asked for resetting to 10 wins, can't be done. I will personally be hacking the loot apart for the first 10 when it happens. Don't expect many (if any) boosters in the first 10 wins when this gets pushed.
Yes, yes yes yes yes! I'd love to have rewards after 10 wins! It's like achievements but then separate for every pet. Aaaah! I need to catch up with wins before the opponents reset!
I notice you didn't mention anything about multiple weapon sets. Is this feature still in the works? I was really hoping this feature would be addressed at some point since we now have multiple scroll sets via the scroll library but still little word on the multiple weapon sets? As someone with a lot of pets of varying tiers this feature would be very useful with seasonal opponents & such.

It isn't boosters I'm worried about when it comes to loot, it's the other items that are supposed to have some value. another reset is just going to further kill any value these items have.
This won't be practical unless we get an error for selecting too many weapons or a hard limit to the number of check boxes we can select. if you select 3 weapons right now, it just sits forever and doesn't load. it makes it seem like a glitch is occurring or the site is lagging horribly.

[edit] I am still concerned about the cap on global bosses. it is really just promoting more so someone sitting down for 12 hours and fighting the boss and not rewarding someone for having a stronger pet. I thought the rewards for each tier were a great way to make it more fair.
Oh, I have concerns over loot drops as well. I'm assuming (and hope) it's possible to NOT reset the wins on CS challengers, as they have no loot outside of win , so there's no need for them to be reset again. A handful of opponents will be getting new loot when this happens as well.
Perhaps I should add that the loot/reset is the LAST thing that will be happening on the huge list. Once all the others have been done, it'll be happening.
This has been dealt with in a very cool way. If the weapon is set to 1, the check boxes become a radial button, much like the scrolls. Only one can be selected, ever. And if it's zero (for weapons or scrolls), it's blanked out completely just as if you were frozen.
oh that's a good way to handle it! is there a plan to fix it in normal battles so we at least get an error if that happens? it's annoying when I accidentally refresh the page, don't realize my pquill gets autoselected, and then try to submit 3 weapons at one time by accident. I've seen numerous bug reports saying battling doesn't work because they are a new battler and aren't aware they can only select 2 weapons.
So the "global stat cap" is basically the phantom cap people were asking for for ages? Except that it's attached to specific opponents?

Refreshing during battle will ALWAYS break something. You just have to stop refreshing :P
I like the idea of loot beyond 10 wins. All the rest sounds interesting as well. Good luck with all this!
