I completely agree that everyone should be able to state their opinion but the thing to remember is that without the artists there would be no Subeta. There's honestly no reason to call something ugly. That doesn't help in the least. Say you don't like it, then give suggestions on how you think it should be improved.
And your being rude about it as well.
I think that the point isn't that you aren't allowed to be rude, the fact that you haven't got a warning for it says that we don't moderate that.
However, I think that the point is that you could put it more eloquently but you didn't - which makes you look rude

Everyone should be able to state there opinion. The artist knows there drawing is up for critiscim. This should not be a slap in the face, or a huge insult to the drawing. Also your being kind of rude in my opinion towards others thought on this new Hikei.

I like this version over the old version. But, I've never favored the Hikei anyways, so it doesn't affect me in anyway.
Comments about revamps always make me giggle.

Also - if a color is in need of a redraw, it will happen regardless. Old art is old. Everything needs updated eventually.
What a great job! =D So lovely and fresh! votes for new Ignore this if it's mentioned, but the nose seems to be drawn in more of a sideview angle, making the hikeis right (our left) side of the head seem out of place. ^^; Just cover it's right eye and you can see it looks better without that part (when it's compared to the nose position)... =3 Other then that, it's wunderbar! 8D
Yeah, don't revamp the Darkmatter Hikei. It looks great.
I also second the request to not have this re-draw affect the darkmatter Hikei. I also love my Spectrum one. Don't take the fierceness of the darkmatter and hydrus Hikei away.
LitenRev: If you're talking about what I said just before, I was referring to the previous revamp, so it doesn't matter if I call it ugly since it's long gone. If you're talking about my "not overly ugly, not cute" comment, then I don't see why that should be a problem since I said it wasn't ugly. If you're talking about someone else, disregard this.
i like it, but his nose seems a little small and i liked how in the old one, his eyes kinda had a little bit of eyelashes to them. and maybe make the tail a little longer? the markings look great, but maybe make the eye markings a little bit bigger? i really like what was done with the feet/legs 
and mane is a ton better~
The Hikei is my ABSOLUTE favorite pet here in Subeta. I have 3 of them. I do NOT like this re-draw. It looks very cartooney to me. The face is all wrong. Please do not change it. I do not want to have to re-do 3 of my favorite pets.
To add more onto one of my previous comments: The face isn't enormous like I said, but it seems enormous because of the really small chest, upper leg area.
Criticism needs to be constructive, guys. Don't throw around the word 'ugly'.
I like it. But the left side of it's face just seems so off to me =/ Like it shouldn't be there.

Hmm, I don't remember there being a previous Hikei revamp, was there one?
This pose, by the way, also doesn't exactly scream, "I'm different to the others." It's just neutral, boring, bleh, unoriginal. And if this goes through, it better not affect the Darkmatter Hikei, because that Hikei owns all other Hikeis/revamps when it comes to a good-looking Hikei.
I just hope the Darkmatter Hikei stays the same.

So much better than the last one. But I think a lot still needs fixing with this one. I'm going to be incredibly narky about this since I actually have Hikeis. :/
I think the tail's too small; it needs to be a bit bigger. The ears look really funny, and I don't know why. Neck is far too short, it's like it doesn't even have a neck at all. Chest is too small compared to the legs/huge head. Face is enormous. Hooves look a bit off. And the back legs make it look like it's about to take a dump. Back paws could've been done better, too. It also looks like it could do with a bit more shading on the body. The face itself is just "eh, whatever". Not overly ugly, not exactly cute. I think they should do a new face.
I like this one best. The other one's head was just way too large for it's body. I got a DM one because it's pose makes it look more proportionate.

Its true that the Hikei needs a revamp, but this just isn't it. I'm sorry. Its just when I look at it...it seems like its not to happy.

Hmm I really don't like the new version, it lacks that smirk which is the original reason I got my Hikei (for it's personality). Don't care for the angle either, the original Hikei, doesn't even look very undetailed either.

Agreed on the manly-ness of the new one. Old one looks sweet, and the eye is looking straight at you, very innocent, angelish like. Maybe keep the pose of the old one, but just a little more sideways like the new one. Keep the sweet face of the old one, but with the ears and manes of the new one. And the front and back legs of the new one as well, but positioned like the old one.
(haha, am I confusing anyone yet? )

Awww, that's really cute! I adore the face and mane, and the hooves are just lovely! The only thing that's bothering me a bit are the back legs... I can't quite put my finger on why that is though. I'll just have to study it some more. xD
On a side note, did Rah draw this? It looks like Rah art. 
My opinion; o I don't like it so much. It looks smaller than the new chibi ontra, first off. It looks like it has an awkward stance.O___O; I don't think we'll have many female hikeis anymore, it looks more male than anything. Maybe that's just me, but the face looks odd. The tail and muzzle are alright, though.c: Its feet/legs are fairly small too...
Overall, I think I like the original better...O___o;
I love the head of the old one but the body of the new one, to bad we can't incorporate both together ala Ian
Voted for the new one, although I'd prefer its legs and body to be as chunky as the old one...not sure about the eyebrows, but they don't really bother me. Love the expression.
I voted for the old, even though I do love this one. But the head is a bit....odd to me..
...Wow. The shading is about all I can see that has improved - aat first. This one just looks wrong. The pose is more bland than the old one, and its a lot more stumpy. It's also lost some of the horse-like features. I think the pose is what bothers me most. The old pose was really nice. This one does have its good qualities. The feathering over the hooves is nice and the back legs do look good But it just looks...wrong. It looks like a chibi, but mutated so that it could be called the real/adult hikie. I'm all for change and better pets, but some of these recent ones haven't been so good.
I also voted for the old one, it's just a personal taste, I think the old one is cuter. 
I loved how the front legs were close together, like it was posing in a way.
I understand how it's positioned more sideways now (so the body can be seen more clearly), but I still prefer the old pose. Also, the body on the new one looks like it "shrunk", it looks less elegant, I guess. Just my two cents. It's nicely drawn, but just not my taste anymore.
If you guys really revamp the hikei, don't revamp the hydrus one (hugs pet that I'm going to make if I have a gold medal ^^)
I like the body of the new one, but I like the position of the head on the old one. The overall art is great though, it's more detailed(Good Job!). I voted for the new one as I think the I could get used to the way the head is situated.

I think the Hikei we currently have right now should become the new Chibi Hikei. It's still really cute and a million times better than the current Chibi Hikei.
