I love the update. The old one's chest was a little too lumpy for my tastes.
I voted for the new - not because I think it's absolutely perfect as is, but because I think it's a good starting point that could be made better with some tweaking the details.
The head is what bothers me most - it looks too large, because the muzzle is too short for the roundness of the rest of the face. This could be fixed either by reducing how far out the right (our left) cheek curves, or making the snout longer. I also think that the front legs look longer than the hind pair, and they are far from on a level slope, so the two pairs look off-balance.
I do like the basic idea, and some of the details - the feathery fur above the hooves, the cleaner stripes, the just-right amount of shading.... But I do think it needs a little adjustment. 
To start, this is a vast improvement from the original. This is by far the biggest improvement on a improvement to date in my opinion.
Some things I think could be improved are the head. While the head shows great depth and it's very cute, I agree that it looks very round. I like that the left eye is showing however so I think the best way to address the issue is to slightly elongate the the nose area.
Also due to it's very horse like resemblance I think the neck could be very slightly elongated as well. I think the neck being a tad longer would also help with the roundness of the head.
I very much like his stout semi-muscular body. Everyone seems to be trying to change him to look longer and that's just not what the heikei is. Rather than a horse he reminds me of a haflinger with the belly,neck head of a shetland pony.

So see it's not a normal thin lanky horse. Not to mention it seems to be a crossbreed anyway. Anyway point being I like its chubby - ness.
I also very much like the stripe distribution, the shading, and I'm just incredibly impressed with the mane. The mane really draws attention too it. It's very slick.
I have to say I've never shown any interest at all in the hikei before this but I've very tempted to get one now. This is improvement is really spectacular. Kudos to the creator!!
The head looks a bit off, but I really can't say anything else because I'm not good in that range of imagination. If that made any sense. It does look better than the other revamp, but it isn't ugly. Just. . .the head. . .like it's too big for the body or something. And the pose does seem kind of uninspired. That could just be me.
Otherwise, I love the colors, the tail, and the shading of the art.

I really like Typhoon_Muffin's redline; especially what it did for the midsection. 
Wasn't it a staff member/artist who mentioned that the common versions of pets weren't meant to be cutesy? This would be great as a chibi pet.
I voted for the old one. The new one looks way too ... round to me and I dont really like the head and the legs are to thin for the body to me

I'm usually supportive of revamps, but... this one gets a 'no' from me. ]: Sorry to the artist. The art, as usual, is a definite improvement! But overall It doesn't personally suit the Hikei to me.
my crits: the post is rather static, for a start. imo the old Hikei's pose fit it best- I'm not trying to be biased, I just honestly can't see it in much else.
The head, anatomy/perspective wise, looks like it can't decide if it's in a 3/4th view or profile. it's awful wide, like the artist drew the head in profile first THEN added the rest as an afterthought...
I can't really spot much else bugging me about it.
I'm going to say that when I first saw it, it honestly looked like more of a chibi pet then a standard version. I really find it a bit odd, the anatomy is still weird, better on the front half this time but that pose just isn't really the best in my opinion, I think the previous suggested revamp could have worked if the problems that were pointed out were fixed on that version, I definitely preferred that pose over this one minus the weird pigeon toed hooves on that version. plus the neck looks really thick and as someone already mentioned, the snout needs to be longer and i'm not sure whats going on with the far side of the face and that cheek, it looks too high up or something.
Tried another redline since the feet face and eyes were bothering, i'm not the best with horse like pets/animals XD :
The hair and tails were perfect for me just everything else needs a bit of tweaking and it'll look much better c:
um, okay, now that i have looked at the revamp a bit longer... its odd. the position and all. first, the chest appears larger than the rest of the body, which seriously bugs me. and the revamp looks as if its positioned uncomfortably. now, i kinda think the old version was better =/ and the head..the entire right side of the face should be erased. its head appears extremely round.. anyways, thats just my opinion

personally, it looks rather chibi style -- i would make it more, iono, non-chibi, full-fledged 'adult' pet style. (adult as in not the for mature adult players adult 
) overall, its pretty good
maybe if you put it in a rearing position, like its head tossed back and its front legs off the ground or something.
Revamp comments are so entertaining
At first glance I wasn't sure what to make of it; but it's slowly growing on me. c: The head looks slightly off, though for the life of me I can't quite pinpoint why. Perhaps it's just because the neck needs to be longer, as someone else said. Overall, this has a lot of potential. ^^
It looks more like a chibi than a regular pet.
It doesn't look lean enough and the legs look a little short...like it's been squashed to fit within the image size contraints.
How about getting the poll links right. I am not going to subeta.net to do a poll. This is the second poll that the link has redirected me to the .net site. Are you all wanting us to do the polls there? I am sure it isn't that hard to get the links right.
I like it.... but it DOES kinda look a bit too chibi-ish to me 
maybe change the head.. like the eyes a bit, and nose a bit longer and more horse like and the mane... a little bit shorter and not too.... sticking up xDD.. and make the tails a bit longer maybe? ^^
I like it better then the old one, but his belly is just a little two round for my tastes
i like it alot =] i think that the tails could be just a teensy bit longer
and its right cheek is a bit too puffy. like its a fat kid thats had way too many chocolate bars lol and its head is a bit too large but its very cute anyways. it looks like it should be a chibi or something
I actually rather like this revamp, though I all echo the others who thought it was a revamp of the Chibi at first. It does strongly resemble a chibi pet. I think it needs to mature a bit before it gets released.
I'm loving the lovely lovely shading! Its not overdone to the extreme or look like plastic And the back paws are adorable.
Overall its a good improvement of the original Hikei, and especially over the last revamp attempt, but I think it could use a bit more work to make it not so Chibi like.
I have been waiting for the Hikei revamp for a long time but I'm having a little bit of a problem with this one -- it looks stubby and dog-like.
I was hoping for a slender look like the Dark Matter and Hydrus hikei have.

raise the head and make it a diffrent color and it will be so cute
I think the head should be smaller and the stomach. A little taller the tails could be and the eye shape could change a bit.Basically a slimmer hikei.

I can't find anything I dislike about the body (yay, it's finally not standing on tip-toes!), but the head does bother me a bit.
Ignoring the horrible quality of my quick adjustment Dx I think showing the right eye makes the head look too round. Cutting off that part makes it look slightly better, in my opinion. Also, the tails need to be a bit larger. It still seems a little...off, in other ways, but I can't really figure out how they could be fixed. xD;; Maybe make the eye(s) a little smaller?

I voted for the new, but I'd like to see the head a little longer (like a horse) and I'd also like it to have more of a "waist". I agree that the eyes seem a little off.
The old one seemed a bit more... full of personality. Like, the stance and look and everything. But this one is not very original, at all. It's your typical cute pet, I don't think it will help many more adopters look for a Hikei. But, I did indeed vote for the new one, but I still prefer the old, I just think that the new one's eyes has something in them that I love. I'm absoloutely sure, though that the same stance with just a bit of a touch-up on the eyes and body will be perfect.
I dislike the toes, the nails are sitting kinda high there. apart from that i think it looks like the old one just in a different pose o_°

The only two things that it would be nice if fixed in this is that the belly should be smaller, it would lessen the weight in a pet that is half equine and half feline (?). And the neck should be a tiny bit longer like the old one. Longer neck and less belly would make it look more graceful.

I don't really care for this version at all
The body is to chunky looking and the legs look kind of stumpy. The overall look of the body makes me think of a small stocky dog. The face is too pointed. the forehead and cheeks are fairly wide and then the mouth/muzzle comes to nearly a point.
I understand that the Hikei isn't necessarily a horse but I have always seen it as at least equine and this redraw completely loses that feel. Thank you to the artist for trying so hard but please don't let this be the final version!
Honestly I like the old one better. But this revamp is cute. Good job.
The older version has a more "regal" look to it, as if he has just tossed his head proudly and is looking a bit down his nose at you, daring you to comment on something. This new version is sweet, and cute, and has lost the semi "snooty" class, the arrogance and is lesser to me for it -- it's as if you took a good strong anime character and disney-fied it. Can it be made a bit LESS cutesy?
I think it needs it's "lines" elongated. Longer neck, longer back, perhaps the legs too? More sharper image. This revamp is cute, but it looks too chibi. Chibi is fine, but doesn't really fit in if someone wants a more mature look? I hope I am not TOO confusing.

I'm at least glad the artist is attempting to keep the Hikei the same (same type of tail, same patterning and colors, etc). I'm kinda scared for the angelic one though, not gonna lie.
I prefer the face of the old one, but the body of the new one. Something just looks wrong about the new head. I think it's the eyes. :/
Hmmm, The head has a little weird shape, maybe your could make it thinner. And I think the back feet would look better if they looked the same as the front feet.

i like the old one better :| the artwork is improved on the new one, but it's too stocky and masculine looking? and the face shape seems a little odd to me for some reason.
Awww! It's so cute and very nice looking. I really can't find any faults in this revamp. The only thing I'd change would be the size of the tails, I'd make them bigger with larger orbs, but that's just personal taste. They're also fine just the way they are. Great job!
It does look alot better. But - I think it's lines and overall shape could be longer and more rectangular, like a real horse. But, otherwise, it's cute.
hmm, maybe draw the neck and legs a bit longer and slightly slimmer? and the possibly a longer muzzle too. But overall, I like it n.n
D= Sorry Blank post. But I'm Not to sure about the new look. It looks a bit to, Well Chibi. It's faces kinda looks fat and its body looks really stubby. I'm not sure what to say most about it, It is a good drawing of a good update. It just looks A bit to Chibi.
Overall, I think the revamp looks very nice. There are only two things that I would try to improve or change, and they don't really both me that much.
First, and most bugging, the length of the neck and back. Both look a tad too short, but the neck especially considering it's supposed to be horse like (or I'm assuming anyway). A little cut and slide in Photoshop later Not perfect, but just moving the head up and the back end out a little make a difference.
(And it still fits inside the box!)
Secondly, and less of a concern, the pose is a bit... plain I suppose. There's nothing wrong with it, so for as I can tell, but it's just standing there. The current Hikei has a sense of posing coyly, as if to say "I know I'm cute," or "Aren't I just adorable?" This one not so much.
Still, even as is it's worlds better than the current Hikei. Great job.
