The Mortiking would prefer you vote in the new poll the nice way, before he has to ... navigate you to the booth :)

I know mortikings arent real dinosaurs, DNA. xD I never implied that they were, but in my opinion, compairing a mortiking to a dinosaur, ratyher than a mortiking to a weightlifting human, is a bit more useful, dont you think? Infact, I hate it when people tell a person a design is wrong because it doesnt look much like a real animal. I was simply saying, that even a fictional pixelated creature such as the mortiking would have a rather difficult time lugging itself around with all that bulk (be it fat, muscle, or mashed potatoes..). That is just my own personal opinion.
I don't want a skinny mortiking, either. I simply implied that the bulk between it's chest and gut should be a bit more defined, because to me, right now, it looks like an inflatable toy. Like.. one of those macy's day parade ones. Anyway, either that, or defining the curve in it's spine a bit more; giving it a more defined shape rather than a circle for a body. ^^

I have the agree with Kellendraysia about the eye being too small and there's something about the mouth that just doesn't sit right with me. And as people have mentioned before, I'm sure this wasn't the intention, but the shading does make it look a bit chubby, I much prefer the smoother shading of the bloodred and galatic mortikings. Other than that though, it is quite an impressive piece of art.

It is well drawn, and well... fed. x: Compare to the old image, its cheek was a bit thinner and looks "sharper". Number of spikes on its back and the length of claws are reduced too... Get on a diet perhaps? I like his teeth.

I think that this is a nice piece of artwork but I am not that crazy on the design personally. I think that the short jawed snarl looks out of place especially if compared to other revamped Mortiking such as the bloodred. I believe that the eye almost looks to small and with the short snarling jawline it makes the head look disproportional to the rest of the body. I also wonder if the neck is too short which lends other users to comment that this revamp is too chubby. It almost appears if there is no neck in this revamped design. I do however like the markings and the pose of the revamp.

As for those of you that think he looks chubby, well have you ever seen an olympic wright lifter? They have tons of muscles, but their bellies sort stick out and they have very little definition there. I think that was what DNA was trying to do, go for a huge muscle bound look with out it looking like it has too much definition.

I like this one! It totally rocks, personally. My only issue is with the eye--instead of looking mean or scary, it sorta seems like he flipped his eyelid inside out (I've seen it done. Ick.). Other than that, and maybe a longer neck, I don't see anything wrong with this revamp. Great work, DNA!

Trino, I know that I, for one, have had to deal with the masses, as it's my job. Although not to revamp pets, it's to do art for magazines and newspapers, but I still have to bend over backwards for certain picky customers. You learn to roll with the punches whenever you decide to work on art for the public.

That said, the whole point in having this little comment area isn't just for praise and such. It's also to give constructive critisim to help the pet look better. As I said in my last comment, if the majority thinks something looks strange, then why not take that into account and improve on it?

Yes, some people have been very rude about it and that's pretty stupid of them, but most people I've seen here have been really helpful and kind with their crits. In fact, if you notice something wrong with anything, whether it be a pet revamp or whatever, and you just ignore it instead of telling what you really think, it could be doing more harm than good in the long run.

Well Im sorry but I voted for the old one..this Mortiking seems more fat than muscle...and like others I feel that his insignia on his belly should be more pronounced, its one of the main things that has always been noticed on them. And as far as his head it just seems to round and the snout not quite long enough..and him snarling just seems weird to me..I just prefer the old from the new

I love the face, but Mr. Mortiking here looks like he could use a few rounds on the old treadmill.

I think he's supposed to look muscular, but he could do with more muscular definition and less bulk. What I think is making him look chubby instead of muscular is the fact that he has no neck, and his round belly, which looks... well... fat. Plus it makes his legs look like they're really wide-apart, so that if he walked, he would waddle. The shape of his arms, too, looks like a big bodybuilder with awkwardly tiny arms. If the intent was to make him look more like a tyrannosaurus with small arms, then maybe his anatomy should be more dinosaur and less human.

All Hail, Morti - The King! This XXXL dude has attitude and the bulk to back it up. Just two little suggestions. Make his insignia/tattoo a bit more pronounced like the old version and please give him back the end of his gloriously wicked tail (the new one appears to have a thick stump that may have been bitten off in a fight). Overall impression...WOWSER!!!

I don't think he looks quite as scary... I don't like that fact; maybe narrowing his eyes a bit and making the dark mark under his eye pointier so it doesn't look like he's got bags under his eyes in a drunken stupor... I was going to agree that he looks fat, and then I saw that he definitely does match the more awesome colors of the mortiking like bloodred and glacier... But there's still something just very odd about the muscles... it looks like he's way fat but totally ripped at the same time =/ I guess I'm not so helpful, eh?

I think it looks nice, but I think the lineart is way, way too thin =/ It makes a lot of the details blend into the color and takes away depth from the pet itself. I also think it's a tad overshaded.

I LOVE him. He finally looks like a KING. And he is the RIGHT COLOR!! There is only one thing I would remark on and that is that I am having a little trouble making out the mark on his belly as the same mark as before, it looks like it could use a tap of edge reduction just so we can see that white divider line more clearly. A teensy minor thing, he is truly awesome!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I voted old. I agree that the new one looks a bit fat, and to me it looks like he's trying to snarl but can't summon the energy. Of course, if I said that to his face he might disembowel me, but at the moment I feel like I might be able to outrun him.

I also prefer the narrower eyes of the old one, and it's more hunched back/longer neck. I'm not sure why on the latter, but I think it might be because it shows of the back spines better.

(: Yay. I've been dying for this particular pet to be revamped. So, naturally I voted for this version. The original lacked the correct pose to come off as scary and mean- it came off as something that slept on it's neck the wrong way. The colors didn't look natural. It reminded me of the cheap toys my brother gets out of happy meals. Definitely not what I look for in a pet.

The new version is really an improvement. The colors look darker and more natural. The pose makes it look mean- well, more than the other one- and to me it looks like it's about to knock you out with a swift hit of it's tail. It adds to it's character! The pose looks correct but the claws look... Odd? I think it's mainly the one off to the side. I would have liked to see more teeth and the one eye we can see be more red instead of pink. I'll definitely be getting one if this revamp passes.

AmLita... no one is insulting the artist. They make this polls to ask our opinion about the remake they wanna make for the pet, and it's natural for some people to like the new look and for some not to, this way we also give the artist a better idea of what we would like to improve in the art he shows us (or how to make the pet better looking the way most of the people want), we're not insulting him/her or anything, as an artist he/she needs to take the critiques and to learn from them so they could know what to change. I myself think the artist is doing a great job on most of the pets, though some of them need a change here and there (even some revamps need to be revamp again) and I say a huge thank you to the artist for doing their best. =)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Velosotors aren't exactly slim either.

I never wanted Mortiking skinny, but just a little tweaking in the muscles so it doesn't make it look so fat. (At least, the others don't seem that fat to me and do look very muscular.)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

As always, im voting for new. After all, the new art is always better.

The only flaw i can really see would be in the mouth. Something about the jaw just bugs me. White its drawn beautifully, it just... looks too small for those teeth.
