Tonight we will be testing it out :)<br /> <center> </center> <br /> You might want to watch for these two items, that can only be found in this giveaway! <br /><br /> Just so you know - this shop restocks just like any other shop. Meaning that all the items in the giveaway will be restocking over time ;) This means that one time zone is NOT favored over others :)

Also, if it's empty, make sure to stick around. This giveaway should last through to tomorrow :)

"why have a code if these are free items" To prevent autobuyers? (If there are any that work on subeta; I've got no clue but that's the only thing I can figure...

I'd prefer if they took the code away and added some sort of 5 minute wait after you've gotten an item like they had in the DC

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I don't think this is entirely the best idea ever. What if someone doesn't get a chance to grab the free item and then poof! it's gone? I liked the old way where everyone was able to get it, no troubles.

I really like Spawn's idea with the gift boxes also. This seems like a good idea but it sucks for people with a slow internet connection who will most likely never get an item. Plus the code takes a little time to load up but, why have a code if these are free items?

it's not like you're missing EVERYTHING Dx Yes, actually some of us ARE missing everything. Also, when it comes to RS'ing.. it's not just "letter typing skills". It's computer/connection speed as well. I also know there are people out there with physical limitations that would make it virtually impossible for them to RS.

Would I like the Giveaway to be done in a different manner? yes Am I horribly angry that it's not? no It seems to me that alot of us who are not ecstatic about this are not faulting the idea itself, simply the difficulty.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Karen

Yes, they're free items--but it still stinks when people who are good at rsing/have fast computers/can type well get a bunch of them and others get nothing. This system stinks because there are hardly any items stocked at a time in comparison to how many people are waiting for them.

If nothing else, what about making it a 5 minute time limit like the DC had?

I have to agree with some of Spawn's ideas, although I'm not sure about 5 items in a box, but if boxes were used it would even the playing field for all users and sort of make it fun - like a crap shoot. You wouldn't know what you were getting until you opened it. Also, I think there should be a time limit like there was in the original giveaways.

Ah, forgot to mention: another downside of this is that there is no 5 minute rule after getting something so if someone's crazy fast they could theoretically get 2 or more items on the same restock

Seems like something that will easily be abused by those who restock Especially, since IIRC, restocks aren't random at all - you just have to know what second(s) to refresh at

Personally, I prefer the old method of giveaway. I understand the need to be time-zone fair but this format has the downside of favoring users with faster internet (with items flying out at a seemly impossibly fast speed). No solution is perfect so I guess I'll just sit back and wait to see how this plays out...

Personally, I do not like this system at all.

I do not restock because I only have a short amount of time on subeta and I have quests and such I want to get done. At least with the old giveaways I would be able to get an item then go do some of my quests. Instead I am sitting here and wasting all of my time trying to restock a shop and end up getting nothing at all.

I'm not going to be able to get anything - I'm at work and subeta images don't load on this connection. I really appreciate the new system and that you're giving things another try though. I can tell that you're listening to the users and that you are trying to adapt to their suggestions and complaints. That's so so so good. It's why I love Subeta. So even though I can't get anything, I'm perfectly happy about this. The fact that it's going to be spread out over a longer amount of time is completely fantastic and definitely a step in the right direction.

Thanks Keith and Subeta Team! I think this is a good idea.. even though I'll probably never get anything from it. I'm horrible at RS and the shop takes forever to load/refresh on my connection. Oh well. It's just free stuff in a free game that we're all playing for fun! [that's my way of saying 'stop complaining!']

Oh, but I do think the captcha codes should be annihilated... just my two cents.

The give away is very nice, but could you maybe put it to the donation corner like old times? People who can't restock that well are getting nothing, I personally have been trying but haven't been able to get a single thing, so while some people who can restock quickly get several items. At last with the donation corner people had to wait 5 minutes =/

It's a good idea but it's not working for alot of people. I'll just go the easy way out and buy the stuff when people stop charging outragious prices when they know very well that they aren't worth what they are pricing. I can't get anything so I give up on it.

RSers are going for the cool items, it's not like you're missing EVERYTHING Dx And you don't really need RSer skills, everyone has more or less the same letter typing skills. It's not like rsers know the word they're going to have to type... If you actually had to offer a number, then you could complain that your 5000 offer was slower than a rser's 4987.

I finally got far enough to grab an unclaimed item, but lost it when it asked me for a bid (and gave me an actual asking price O_o ) and the image verification code. I don't understand why I have to set a price for a supposedly free item, even if it's only 1 sP. :/

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Oh wow. I agree with Lamia.

There were like 7 of one item in stock, and as soon as I clicked (which was immediately) they were all sold out. That plus I have to wait for the code to load and show up. @-@;

I guess it's best for RSers and people with super fast internet. But better this than no giveaways at all, yeah? I'm sure I'll get something with some luck, eventually.

Congratulations to those of you who have snagged items! You have quick fingers! (:

Anyways; Thankyou, Keith. ^-^ I know you said that you weren't going to do any more giveaways, so we're all greatly appreciative. Hopefully this puts the complainers to rest; but I'm sure, as with everything else, there will still be an unhappy few.

The idea isn't bad, but personally, I'm not overly keen on this way of holding giveaways, Keith. Mainly because the restocks are random and a small amount of items is stocked. The intent was good, but I don't quite think that this will have the desired effect because of the previously mentioned reasons. A user with a slower internet connection wouldn't have the same chance at getting the items since they literally fly out of the shop. With the DC giveaways, users with slow modems had a better chance since random items were shown from the DC stock and it was a small chance that someone else would find the same item you clicked and snatch it before you (unless only 10-50 of said one item were in the DC to start with). If nothing else, users with slower connection could always pick up restockables from there.
Now, I know that this system is in testing, so don't rip my head off, but maybe it'd be possible to hold giveaways in the donation corner again, but with a somewhat altered system?
For example, you'd have a giftbox with a set of 5 items in there. The items would be random with each giftbox, ranging from R50-99. The giftboxes would only be available during giveaways, but would be separate items. Kind of like Christmas Presents, only that these would have non-cash shop items in them.
Or, even better. Give every active user (has logged in within the last 1-2 months) a set of 5 of those boxes I've suggested above when you want to hold a giveaway. That way, no one will be able to whine for not being there on the day that the giveaway was held and everyone would have an equal chance of getting rarer items from the boxes.

The truth is, I would rather have a big giveaway thrown into the DC than having to restock the items. I know I would miss a lot of the giveaway, but at least my head won't hurt trying to wait for the shop to restock and then missing the restock. Lol.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Nyaochan

Carmen: The point is...givawats are supposed to be fun...it's NOT fun when it turns into a contest between the best restockers, and they don't even have a handicap after grabbing something, like the DC giveaways did.

Thus fewer people have a chance at getting ANYTHING.
