Tonight we will be testing it out :)<br /> <center> </center> <br /> You might want to watch for these two items, that can only be found in this giveaway! <br /><br /> Just so you know - this shop restocks just like any other shop. Meaning that all the items in the giveaway will be restocking over time ;) This means that one time zone is NOT favored over others :)

Also, if it's empty, make sure to stick around. This giveaway should last through to tomorrow :)

First, I think I'm thankful for Keith's idea to make things more fair to everyone who is playing the site. I appreciate your effort and hard work. However, I have to agree with many people here: this new giveaway system is not any better than the DC. To be honest, it is even worse. I'm quite a decent RSer, and my connection is not too slow, but I still could not get anything out of there. All items are gone within like... 3 or 5 seconds. That would be harder for those without rs skills. And I agree with someone, this is a giveaway, not a competition. But the whole idea makes me feel like it's another RS war, just not as that fun. I closed down the Free Shop window and got back to my RS, and I'm feeling really happy with what I can actually get, even if I have to pay money for it.

I'd be happy if the giveaway can be switched back to the DC. And I guess those who cannot rs will be much happier, because they can still have some fun.

I like the idea, however I really liked the Donation Center giveaways much better. I have a very, very, very bad connection so I've gotten almost nothing from this giveaway. I try to buy one thing and when I finally get to the haggle page, it's already gone because it took me so long to get there. And I don't think it's solely because of my connection, I think it's also because so many people are on that page that it makes the page lag. I think it is good for the time zone people though. And i really thank y'all for being so nice to give away things

i like the idea of this but i do not like the fact that those of use with slow computers get in there to try and get just one item and by the time i get to the part where i am suposedly allowed to have my free item.It says sorry item is sold out. i tryed three diffrent times and each time got the same response. now i am fairly new so i was trying to get a wig with each try, Allwell i guess i will chalk it to a bad day and never bother the store again. here is an idea i am soooo soure no one thought of it why not just give out a 100 cs points in your give aways. that would mean every one could get something they wanted or something they could sell that would be worth big points!!! Now see i tend to believe that no head honchos read these little comment things. but hey it never hurts to voice ones opion

That's it for me as well. I almost had some Orange Tennis Shoes, but they asked for a haggling price, so I tried to put in a code, and it said "That's not enough for this high-quality item! Click here to go back!", and the item was gone. Until they fix that glitch, I'm just gonna stalk the DC instead.

Respect: sounds like the Hustler, on Subetas moon That would be fun too. Grabbing and not knowing if its rare or not.

I actually like this method better..I may not grab a rare item but atleast I can see they are in there. In all the previous giveaways I never came across a single one in the DC, has horrible luck. I dont know..It makes me feel better to know that its my fault for missing the rare items..that its not just the DC only pulling the same 40 junk items for me over and over. Plus its great knowing that rare stuff will be in the shop the entire giveaway. That if I miss the first hour of the giveaway I can still get something great, maybe even on my WL.

I'm going to complain. :c While the fact that it covers most time zones is nice, I preferred the old system with the Donation Center. With the donation center, there would always be something there when you looked, and you could sift through until you found something you liked. With the shop, there won't always be something there for you to get, and you'll have to refresh a lot for something to appear. For those without the patience or connection speed to do that, they'll miss quite a few restocks. Even if I do manage to see items, I've usually refreshed too late and others are already grabbing the items so by the time I even click on an item, it's gone. Going back to the store takes more time, and then you're pretty much screwed as everything's snatched up before you even get a chance. Also, once you grab an item in the donation corner, there's a five minute waiting period before you can get something else, to let others have a chance to take something. I don't think this applies here, and anyone with speedy fingers or a lot of luck gets the items while slower users get nothing. There are also occasional glitches where the shop refuses your 'offer' and asks you to pay for the item.

Overall, I think the shop is pretty confusing, and unfair to those who cannot compete with the better restockers on the site. Perhaps there could be some combination of the shop and the donation center, where the items are dumped in large quantities and then smaller restocks are made throughout the day?

What am I doing wrong? I go in shop, click on item, enter the code, click on the purchase bar and then it still says "Thats not enough for this quality item! Click Here to go back". It is NOT free for me!

I do like this idea and I very greatly appreciate the gesture It's one of the things I love about Subeta becuase it shows that the people that run the site care for their users. Like many have said this does put fast people at an advantage. However, I have a fast internet speed and I can type very fast as well, but with the limited quantities of things, a lot of people jump at it at once so it makes it almost impossible to get anything. And for the people thinking other users are getting multiple items during one restock, trust me, they aren't. If they did, I'd be amazed at how fast they are and almost applaud them lol. If you continue with this way of giveaways I would suggest a much higher quantity of items being restocked becuase I'm sure the 400 -500 people that are on, are all or mostly stalking the shop. Maybe 50 to an item? More or less depending on the rarity. I also see why you'd put codes on the items too becuase if there weren't, things would be gone in less than a second. Another thing is that with the shop, everyone has to sit and wait the same exact time so more people will jump at the exact same item at the exact same time. The donation center gave people their own individual times to go back for items so not so many people jumped at things at once. I personally like the donation center better becuase you can have fun searching for items too and it's a shorter wait. One of the restocks for the shop almost took a half an hour when I was waiting. I could see more people giving up on the shop too and getting frustrated. As for the time zone issue, I know for the big giveaways they restock through out the day so I don't see the issue with missing one of the smaller ones. Just look forward to bigger ones down the road It might help to somehow have it in gradually put new items in the donation center at different peak hours for different time zones instead of a huge amount of items during one time.

But anyways that is my critique and I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining. Just trying to help. I got my Feli Flop Hat so I'm happy. Thank you again Subeta

I personally dislike the whole idea of having another shop. If it's free, it shouldn't be in a shop. It should be in the Donation Center, where there's a limit, and everyone gets something. I know that several people are like, "It's just pixels, I don't see what is so special" but we work on getting things on this site, and they're the ones that don't care so much because they're the ones GETTING all of those items. Another shop is another place for the Autobuyers to hack and steal everything before any of the regular users can get ANYTHING out of it. At least with the DC everyone gets something, it's got a time limit, and it's fair, and a lot of people take for granted that they're getting free stuff, and complain that they're not getting good stuff. Hey, it's free, sell what you do get and buy something you want that's good, it's really not so hard. I personally liked the DC with it's item giveaways, at least it was regulated, in the shops, it's hardly what I'd call regulated.

What I say is bring back the DC item events, take this away, it's only causing more fights and thus, more trouble.

This is so frustrating! I don't care if it's free or not. Why not limit the number of things people are grabbing. You take the number of items you plan on giving and divide it by the number of members on this site. Then you limit those users to a set amount. Just like the donation center's 5 minute limit without having to set a clock. Everyone get's stuff, people still have free will and everyone goes home happy. No fast connection or typing skills required.

I'm not missing the point. It's a game. It's nothing to throw a fit about being 'unfair' or whatnot. If they're /that/ concerned about getting a bunch of pixels, they should go to a library and use the highspeed there.

Why so serious, guys?

Keith, I must applaud you for trying to make this better for all. But, I am sorry to say that I have to agree with a lot of other people, that only the people with the fastest connections will get anything good this way. I know you are trying to fix giveaways to be fair for everyone in all time zones, but now you've made it unfair to those with slow connections. Perhaps the best way to fix it is to figure out how many items you want to give away in total. Then split it into 4 different times to add that one quarter of the items. This way items will be released 4 different times throughout a 24 hour period. That should be enough to satisfy almost everyone while giving those with slow connections a chance at items. The DC was always fair to those with fast or slow connections. This could be a way to fix it. I don't really know, but it's an idea to think about.

To quote another: "it's nice that's it's free but it's like playing a game and losing over and over again. Not fun."

Agreed. At least with the thousands of items in the DC, you had even a split second to think. If you have never RSed before, this is really hard to even get a 2 sP item from.

I love the sentiment, and I love that you guys are trying to make it fair, but this just kind of went from one extreme to another.
