Tonight we will be testing it out :)<br /> <center> </center> <br /> You might want to watch for these two items, that can only be found in this giveaway! <br /><br /> Just so you know - this shop restocks just like any other shop. Meaning that all the items in the giveaway will be restocking over time ;) This means that one time zone is NOT favored over others :)

Also, if it's empty, make sure to stick around. This giveaway should last through to tomorrow :)

Starshadow: if it wasn't for the codes in shops it would increase the risk of hackers......capotcha code is needed these days on websites.... Its something to get used to as it won't be going away any time soon.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Nice idea but if we have to put codes in for this also I think I'll pass, it's enough nuisance in the regular shops so much that I don't RS hardly at all any more. The codes are too hard to read, maybe I'll try it again in a few days. Good luck to the rest though.

Okay. I just got a "Brown Thank You Bear" and the process worked fine. I put in the code and it didn't ask for Sp, and I got the item.

I clicked "Back to shop", chose another item, and it started asking for Sp again...

Yea, you're right. I mean, earlier on in the giveway, there were some actual "Free" items, and even now, there are some Users doing a small giveaway of their own in the DC. Heck, after I finish vending, I'm gonna dig some items outta my vault and shops that aren't selling and 'em as well to the DC.

Maybe that'll help out with what's going on for now.

I don't get it either. If it's a free shop, stop asking for my sP.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

@ MVP = Perhaps Restockers aren't the only people with a ton of sP, but having solely Quested for nearly two years, I can safely say that Questing alone doesn't do it. Plus normally the Forum posts about making millions -are- from know Restockers.

Also while you may not have gotten everything you want, there are many who haven't been able to get anything at all.

I have to agree with MyLilLisa - "it's nice that's it's free but it's like playing a game and losing over and over again. Not fun."

So with that, I am out to partake in RL and enjoy myself.

It is a great idea...but as its in testing mode its understandable there are glitches.lets just let them patch the shop up a bit before ripping into them more over the same thing. I am sure it will be fixed soon when they are aware of the fault.

Seems like now, instead of just putting in the code, you now have to haggle sP for the item... and then get transferred to one of the main shops INSTEAD of back to the Free Shop! >_<

...This said even though the price of the items in the shop said "Free"... So, what's going on now, guys?

Now, that I have hung out in the shop.. I do like the DC area better, its faster thats for sure.. even with the lag, you go there and items are appearing so much faster, and easier to grab. Just my two cents. I hate putting in codes too.. I always type the wrong thing or worse cant read what the heck it says..

: I just wanted to point out that the RSers aren't the only ones with a huge sP amount. You said:

  • I do agree with the majority that this will only enable the rich to get richer. (AKA Restockers) - And I only wanted to say that the sP don't come from only sitting in front of the computer. ;D

And no - I'm not getting everything I want. I can't say how many Items I missed in the Free Shop because of invalid codes or only because it was sold out within 1 second. So...it's not only RSing skills.

there, I've actually gotten something from donation and nothing from the free. I think it's time to work on my web page and not worry about this for now.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I don't think anyone is expecting entitlement to free, rare items - only an equal chance at them. =/ And generally I am seeing more hostility coming from people complaining about complainers.

@ MVP - Where did I say that Restockers -didn't- work hard? o_0 Clearly there are many people that do not have the time to devote to it, nor the fast connection with which to compete. Which also explains why there is such a huge discrepancy between the average players amount of sP and the richest user.

Without the five minute wait, and with the addition of the codes, it seems that some are getting everything and many getting nothing, which is not conducive to an equal chance for all, as much as the old system was. Frankly the only issue I saw within the old system was regarding time zones...one would think that could be easily remedied, but then again I know diddly about coding. cough

I think I like the donation thing better too. I've actually gotten things from there. I've yet to get anything from this one at all. So, though it's free, I'm getting more frustration than anything.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I have to say... I don't like this method. I'm a fairly decent RSer, with a pretty good connection speed, but I still can't get anything. I've arrived right at restock, jumped on something with seven or ten in stock... and by the time I'm at the haggle page, it's gone. I used to just get some cheap plushies or beanbags at the DC, but I can't get anything out of this 'free shop'. Maybe if giveaways were switched back to the DC and sent out in batches of 3-4 thousand, instead of 20 thousand, over a day or two, that would allow people in different time zones or who are on at different times a chance to get the 'really good' stuff, while still giving us who have slower computers or reflexes a chance to get anything.

Good luck to the staff trying to make this work.

They aren't free anymore, guys... I was going for the White Inflateable Pool just a moment ago, and it brought it up where you had to make an offer of points along with the code... Even though it said "Free" on the first page.

Windsong, the thing is that very few people are actually offering constructive criticism because that typically involves some sort of suggestion on how it can be improved. All I've heard people say is that it's unfair and such and that is not going to help Keith fix anything. I really am curious what people expect him to do though. It was in the DC already and people found problems with that, now he tried shops and people are complaining about this too. =/ He's human, unfortunately, he cant make it perfect for everyone.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I love this new system. Maybe because I love to restock. It's too bad no matter what you do people are going to whine because they just want free rare stuff. Thanks, this is a really innovative idea I love it

I am one of those who do not like the new system. I know of people getting things each rs..while I have got nothing. To level the playing field..a cool down period should apply.

This is an awesome idea, and I have no problems with it, considering that I do like free stuff. But I do feel that the old system was better; first, you had to wait for a while before getting a new item, which prevented everything from disappearing within seconds. Secondly, you only saw 12 items at a time, which made it more even as you couldn't see all the good items at once.

I do not mean to be disrespectful in any way or to whine, but I feel that the old way was better. In any case, I'd like to thank the staff for the giveaway~

: RSers are doing HARD work for their sP. o-O I have to earn my sP with RSing...and I RS for some hours per day. And I can say that it's not only sitting there, clicking a few times and then you have 6mil sP profit. So...the RSers aren't always the richest.

grr. I can't even get anything because of my connection. everything just gets sold out no matter how many they are. not so fun to me at all.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

It seems that some have difficulty with assuming that constructive criticism is automatically complaining. If the Staff do not know what the majority feels on any given change, then how are they ever to improve Subeta and thus acquire more members?

Now, I have a fast connection, and can even manage the odd Subeautique restock when I have the time. I clicked on 6 different items in the Giveaway and every one was sold out, so I do agree with the majority that this will only enable the rich to get richer. (AKA Restockers)

However I do appreciate Keith trying to cater all time zones and the attempt to create balance...perhaps if the codes were removed this would happen full circle for all Users equally.

Thank you to those sending items to the Donation Center, that was awesome of you and I was able to snag a Spectrum Potion, which likely wouldn't have happened in the real giveaway.

I doubt the problem is ABer's actually. In my experience it took between 9 and 20 seconds for me to reload the shop. Assuming that since my connection is good its the site thats lagging, that means that when I refresh and see Restocked: Now! it could have been anytime in the past minute. Including the second where I actually clicked to refresh. Anyone that clicked before me will get the refresh before me and therefor has at least the 20 secs it took me to refresh ahead of me to shop.

I have decent internet. I can restock. But I just don't like it at all, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Best of luck to people who try to get stuff, but I'm just going to wait futilely until giveaways make their way back to the Donation Corner again.

They can't make a program to grab the items. You have to type in that same security code as you do for the other shops.

ChillyKitten: The use of the word "filthy Restockers" is way harsh. No one becomes good at restocking by sitting around moaning and groaning. It takes time and patience. My advice to you: GO PRACTICE.

Moguri: I suspect people are using ABers, too... 3 secs to selling out everything? Even if there are 500 people online, not all of them are in this shop, I'd guess only 100 of them. Or Keith stocks more stuff, or hunt those who are using ABers. There's a way to detect fast from slow connections, and buying times.

Whew. I think my strategy is, as soon as I've realized it restocks, just scroll down and click on something without looking at it. 'cause if I stop to go "hmm, what do I want?" I certainly won't get it. (Not to say that I'm getting it now, but at least I didn't waste any more time )
