- There are many people who would rather give it up, let 4chan win this and hope it ends everything. And then there are people who like the longcat and want to continue to use it. Changing and getting rid of it are basicly the same thing - we don't have a longcat if we alter everything. We then have whatever the new item is called. Same thing. Plus, with the poll, its visible to everyone what the majority wants.

And I completely agree with DebiLee. We're only showing them hat they can always get their way by making claims and being jerks :/

Let's be frank... 4chan is a bunch of immature freaks. Yes... Subeta has been adding fuel to the fire, but first of all, 4chan has NO RIGHT whatsoever to claim this little "pixel" item THEIRS as there is no such copyright on it at all.
I say keep it, no need to "surrender" and "ANNOUNCE" that they've won... what a childish request.

They're not even after anything other than amusement at this point. If we remove Longcat, they'll see we're willing to do whatever they want to avoid conflict and this will never end.

subeta knows we dont want the longcat to go, yet they make us choose sides, knowing the obvious outcome.

make a poll that asks for change!

Let them have what they want and don't give in anymore than necessary?? How would that even be possible? Removing it won't make them go away, that's the thing. Plus then they'll try to force us to remove anything else that they decide is "theirs"; it will never end. If you seriously think just removing it now will solve the problem, it won't. That's why we haven't to this point.

I voted yes. Yellowdream pointed something out to me: by voting to keep the Longcat we're inviting in more danger, thus putting more strain on the staff to fight off these intruders.

I've read a post where a staff claims that she's almost at her breaking point with these raids. I don't know about you, but I don't want to cause the wonderful staff of Subeta any more stress. They've done more than enough for us, compared to other pet sites who do equally none in favour. It's not about the Longcat anymore; these people are raiding us just to exhaust our lovely staff and they will stop at nothing until their satisfaction is fulfilled.

I'm sorry to PymaJac, though, that she will have to lose her custom...

When it gets to the point where you have nothing better to do than cause online riots over pixels, you really need a new hobby because it's really quite pathetic.
From what I have seen, the people causing the drama probably wouldn't stop even if you did give in.

We don't know whether getting rid of it will stop them or not. But I think it's at least worth it to try.
Subeta has the right to keep longcat; 4chan can't claim ownership of an internet meme, especially one that didn't originate there. Still, it's not worth it. It's endangering Subeta members. It may be within our rights to keep longcat, but it's not necessarily the best thing to do.
So what if they say they've won? I couldn't care less about what these baseless hacks have to say. It's just not worth it. I really think the cat should go.

if its just a pixeled item, then users should not mind whether or not the item is changed or removed.

ultimately, users should think about the wellbeing of the site and themselves. most of us here are not even of legal age yet. subeta should not of been exposed to such a thing in the first place..

I would just rename it. I don't think they object to the image, just the name. Normally, I don't think you should give in to terrorists but in this case, since there has been bad actions on all sides, I say just rename it something like Cat Shawl and that way everyone can win.

Nat: They did say that, yes. But they also said we had to make a public annoucement that they had won. Subeta will never do that. Hence, we shouldn't give in to ANY of their demands.

I voted no and I stand by everything I have said about it in the forums and I do NOT believe all this will stop even if it is removed. I think the channers have reached a point where they are going to go fowords with whatever plans they have but I trust Subeta and the admin and keith and I stand by you all.

Oh on another note for those who get logged out by clicking the link on this post like I did. Just go to the polling place by ehe explore menue on the side to vote instead. Thats all I have to say so nuff said :3.

Now that I've read everything.

I think it should be removed, and I don't think the poll should decide whether it should or not. Let them have what they want and don't give in anymore than necessary is my opinion. This is silly. Being stubborn definitely isn't professional.

Actually, that is not such a bad idea. Just call it the white cat, let it sit on the shoulder like it used to, and just make the tail really long, and that can wrap around the avatar instead of the body.

it's stupid how those 4chans are pissed off, only because of a looooong cat but i voted for the remove-option. subeta is a great site and shouldn't go down for a senseless reason like this. maybe the 4chans will win, but i think that it will remove a LOT of problems.
just turn it into a normal white cat which sits on the shoulder or somewere else of the HA, that would be a good way to solve the problem, i think

I filled out yes, but only when it will be replaced by something else, because manu people paid alot for this one, before the Giveaway.
