How long would you have to walk to get to the sea? :)

I guess they think they are very clever, since a nice dress can be very expensive. and you don't often get that much use out of them. People will do anything to save money it seems like. :P

according to Google maps, it's a ten and a half hour walk to get to the coast from here :P It's about 40 miles by car I think ;)

I definitely was pleased that when I saw someone in the queue to return what looked like a couple of bridesmaid dresses, someone else had come over to the refunds desk to lend a hand (there was a ridiculous queue, and I never had more than one person in a queue at a time back in the store I normally worked in!) - I had absolutely no idea what to do or the checks they would normally do for returning that kind of thing :P

Waking over 10 hours to get to the coast does sound a bit excessive. :P

Understandable. You never know if a customer is going to be a pain in the rear either when you tell them they can't return something. At the supermarket I worked out they had a help desk that took care of any returns, so I didn't have to deal with them. More than fine with me. :P

hehe yeah, I think I'll pass on that walk :P

Yeah, I had a few customers that I had to refuse refunds to, but thankfully they all were accepting of that. The person who was working the refunds desk before me had a challenging one as the customer lobbed the stuff across the room when they were told they couldn't have a refund o.O

did you get a chain glove to go with it in the end? I end up jabbing myself with pins too often so I'd probably not be safe with a rotary cutter anyway laughs

I love the nutcracker look today :D

I edited the ping in case it got eaten (some forum thread pings hadn't come through for me over the last couple of days)

Yikes, I hope they got escorted out of the store. People that act like that should be banned if you ask me. I am glad I didn't have to deal with anything like that. :nods:

Thanks, good luck to you as well. :)

I think the customer just left in a huff after that - the chap in charge of security was trying to track down someone else who was willing to work on the refunds desk (the person who was meant to be on there, refused to deal with any more customer returns).... which is how I ended up getting the job of working on the refund desk in the first place, as nobody else wanted it!

I actually quite enjoyed working on the refunds desk, as no two days were the same - being out on the checkouts in the main store was too boring :P

Sorry you have to undo everything. I know how frustrating that can be. And time consuming obviously. :hugs: That is one cute doggo you got there with your HA!

True. Probably more varied and less dull than working the check out register. :P The most memorable times for me working at the supermarket was probably a couple of celebrities coming to my register and the one time beer cans exploded on my register and all over me. I smelled like a brewery that day!

sits and watches the Ruffies in your HA that's a great look :) And thanks :) I was sorting through my wishlist yesterday and realised the dog was in a user shop, so I snapped it up before anyone else could buy it :P

Ewww on the beer cans exploding! Thankfully I never had anything like that, but I think my highlight was much the same as yours - I had a celebrity (Rik Mayall) at my till (even if I had absolutely zero idea who he was at the time!!) ;)

And I couldnt even get changed, I ended up working the rest of the shift with that lovely smell. :P

For me it was a handball player (one of the most well-known- it is a big sport here) and a very well known actor (at least in my country). :D

congrats on the find :D lol I'm glad it's one of the few photo bombers I don't want lol since there's none others for sale :P

So good news The cast/wrap is off again. I did strain my tendons too far a few days ago standing on my bed but still it looks good. He said nice range of motion and all. I was fully discharged. So he told me I can’t stand on ladders for 8 months as you can re-injure your tendon that way but otherwise im cleared.

it really is super frustrating!

I hadn't ever expected to find it in a user shop, but I had it wishlisted just in case :P

Yay that's awesome news :D Not quite so awesome on standing on the bed, but at least that didn't cause a problem ;) Do you usually need to be using ladders, or isn't that something you'd normally do? (like when Dad was told he couldn't swim for however many weeks after his cataract operation - he doesn't swim anyway :P)

Yay! Congrats on finally being cleared. :D That must have felt nice. I am happy for you. :)

I had grown up watching them both, so it made my day a bit more interesting. ;)

were the other staff jealous that you'd got to serve them?

I've spent all afternoon trying to fix Mum & Dad's computer - it's on an endless loop of errors and "automatic repair can't repair your computer". I ended up getting Dad to head to the shops to get a suitable USB drive so I could download Windows onto it from my computer, then hope it can transfer to theirs.... this could take a long time (and I'm still not entirely convinced it'll work!) 😊

I don't remember if I told them or not, or if they noticed. :)

That sounds like it would be a nightmare to deal with. o-o I hope your idea works. I am guessing they are not too keen on buying a new computer. :) Is it old?

I had about 4 members of staff all staring from by one of the displays as they'd recognised that actor I was serving :P

Their computer isn't incredibly old (I think it was 2018 or 2019) but it's been struggling for a while (it keeps giving errors that mean it restarts then scans the C drive, and randomly deleted all of Mum's emails from her inbox at one point - they weren't able to be recovered either :K) so I think they've now finally realised that it really needs to be replaced. But of course Mum's got a lot of emails she wants to keep, that aren't backed up so really I need to get it to load, so I can at least back up the emails for her! The rest of the stuff should be backed up automatically, but I didn't set it up to back up emails regularly as that's the kind of thing you don't necessarily want or need every one of them saved!

twas a good thing you did! Today's is a nice ha too. haha well no not really but since he knew I did the bed thing putting decorations up for Christmas...he kinda knew what he was up against. He said something like, Christmas only one day... thing is I was sorely tempted yesterday as the star on the Christmas tree on the fireplace mantel is wonky and dad wasn't fixing it the "right" direction :/ And I want to hang my last lantern, which requires a step ladder...

thanks. Yeah it is nice :D How's it going in Lene Land?
