I don't really remember much anymore other than what I've already said, I read it when Shane was little. LOL I think it was called Growing Up Firstborn. It just kind of went into theories about how your birth order determined how you behaved. (and I think a little about how you were treated/raised by your parents) Like, many firstborns will be perfectionists...middle children will try to please, and last born tend to goof off and get away with a lot of things. Only children are firstborns but even more so than those with siblings. There can be multiple firstborns in a family (as I said earlier, firstborn boy/firstborn girl/child born 5yrs younger than a sibling) and how these types of firstborns have tendencies toward firstborn and middle/lastborn as well. It goes into more detail obviously. I vaguely recall it talking about how firstborns are perfectionists but that there can be multiple types for instance - the perfectionist who keeps trying until they get all A's for example, or everything done right. The perfectionist who waits til the last minute and then scrambles to get it done but still does it perfect. The perfectionist who simply cannot get it done right and thus is actually NOT a perfectionist - they refuse to finish because it is NOT perfect....that type of thing.... This so described myself and my oldest brother hahahah :P He is a perfectionist, and I am the imperfect perfectionist. I used to give up rather than get it wrong. (Which if I remember right, often was the case with 2nd born "firstborns" like myself) Katie is the last minute perfectionist. She'll procrastinate and then scramble and do a great job.
I honestly do not recall talking openly about anything to my mama....and certainly not my dad. (they were divorced when I was about 8, and my mom had remarried by the time I hit puberty, but i sure wasn't talking to a step dad either!!!) I did NOT want to go thru puberty, I did NOT want to get boobs or have my period. I wanted to be a tomboy forever and run around w/o my shirt like my brothers did :P I vaguely recall some class in school. And i vaguely recall my mom getting me something for my period but I can't really remember. I still don't really talk to my mom about it, tho we have become a bit more open....but I've (weirdly!) become more open about things with my dad as I got older. - Like NOT as a teenager, but as an adult, after I had kids. I don't really know if my mom was comfortable with it, I would say probably not, as I don't recall much - but then again, it could simply be that neither of us really cared strongly one way or the other and neither of us wanted to discuss it, just deal with it. I dunno. I also do not recall ever going to a gyno as a child (err teen). Not until I took myself to the obgyn for pregnancy did I see one I think? Or at least I don't remember doing so. Maybe I did and just don't recall. Obviously no traumatic experiences here! :P Either that or I blocked them out!
[edit] 9/14 822pm Hope everyone has had a good day!!! Mine was a little hectic...kids were very rambunctious today!!! Then I had to leave early to go to a pretty useless training (it would have been useful if I was the one going to be using the info, but the lead teacher will be doing all of that stuff - I will mostly click links and just do my regular teaching thru the computer instead of face-to-face...where she will be editing the "classroom", adding the schedule, putting on links for the kids to click, etc). Then I had English class, where he dipped barely into how to start to write the short writing assignment, then said he'd talk more of it later. ugh. Ok I guess because we do have a month before its due, but I wanted to know a little more on what to do. hopefully more info next week. And then there was - as he puts it - all the rabbit holes we went down during class LOL It makes it fun, but also a little hard to stay on track. Good thing I know him and how he jumps around, and I can tell when he is off the deep end and when he is on subject ;) Hopefully everyone else can too. LOL
On top of that, I found out Nathan's peachstate is also not paying the therapists office, so now I have to pay $25 a session (at least, I have to pay that amount THIS Friday) until they start paying again. sigh Not that $25 is bad, but I mean seriously. Insurance needs to get with it and pay already.
Anyyyywayyyy lol Its all good. Tomorrow and Friday my lead teacher took personal days and is going to be out of town, so that will make it interesting tomorrow and Friday at work....she had booked two different subs, and one of them backed out on her (Friday) so I hope someone else picks up the job or that will really be a mess Friday!! But its Friday Fun-day sooooo we'll make do.
That sounds mostly accurate on the book. My older brother IS a bit of a perfectionist but is also really smart and was always technically inclined. He was the type to take things apart just to see how they work. He's a bit of a hoarder... keeping LOTS of junk items b/c this part or that part may be useful in s/thing down the line (years later) and while SOME times this has been true, it's mostly not, lol.
Ugh... why is it that state funded insurance always slacks off so much that doctors will start dropping it b/c of those types of issues. They get all the funding!
I have to feel sorry for subs that get brought into a regular school week on short notice and doesn't know the class/kids or where they are with their learning, etc.
So I got a text message from what appears to be a legit company (I looked them up, primarily on BBB) saying that my dad's house, now my younger bro's, got auctioned off yesterday and are looking to hand out the proceeds to the heirs. It would be less than 50% from what I understand but the fact this was done just honestly pisses me off. He should've taken care of things a looong time ago. He just let go of s/thing my dad worked his ass of to fix up, take care of and put a large percentage of funds into making it a REALLY nice house both inside and out. For him to just let this slide away b/c he was too #(&%(#&(*@&$ LAZY to DO anything, has left me infuriated b/c I think this is it... It's too late to do anything, now.

Oh no that really sucks :( Did they say why it got auctioned off? Like, for not paying property taxes or something? I didn't know they could do that. Because they wouldn't be giving you $ if there was a mortgage owed on it, I wouldn't think....unless they auctioned it for more than the mortgage perhaps..> I don't really know. But yea, it sucks that brother didn't do anything/let this happen and that you didn't know about it in order to see if you could have done something. :(
For myself, I always try to get a sub I know when possible, so that they already have a general idea of what the daily schedule is like. But sometimes, yea, we do get random subs that come in not knowing ANYthing about the room, the schedule, the kids, the school routines like lunch/bus/dismissal etc. Makes it a bit crazier. I don't know what the case will be tomorrow. have not heard if I got a sub or if I will end up needing to ask for coverage for her. We will see. Today went well tho, with the sub, its the one we both normally try to get ;) She does good and has been in our room two or three times already this year anyway.
Oh no Taarna, that really sucks. And I can't imagine how frustrated I'd be with that brother right about now!
They must have gotten a lot for it though, to be able to send anything to heirs.
Today was food share day, I'm e-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d. We fed 87 families in two hours though, which is terrific!
Wow that is great !! How much food do you give them when you do this? Like, a few meals worth, a weeks' worth of food? (in general?) Just curious.
Yesterday I did have a sub, she was very nice. Still pretty new to subbing, so sat around a lot unsure of what she could be doing, but very helpful if I asked or told her to do something. Still had 4 kids out (Thursday it was 5!) but some of them were different ones. Sheesh. Sickness all around right now. One poor little girl - on Wednesday we came in from recess and I noticed her face was all blotchy and red - looked more like an allergic reaction than just heat - her twin sister was red too but not the swollen/blotchyness - we called mom because the nurse was out sick. Mom came and took them home. The one little girl was running a 102 fever the next day!! :o poor dear. She looked HORRIBLE in the car rider line picking up her twin and brother with mom Thursday. She looked much better yesterday. Hopefully she'll be back at school Monday. One other little girl is out sick because she's been coughing so much and so hard she keeps vomiting. Poor poor dear!! And we've had ear infections, allergies, sore throats and tummy aches in general all around!
So, from what a friend of ours found out, no one actually bid on the house. Taxes haven't been paid since the latter half of 2018, whIich is the last time my dad paid them. My brother never did switch everything over to his name beCAUSE he didn't want to deal w/ the taxes. I don't even think he got the bills put in his own name. He is a lazy Ahole and it just pisses me off to no end.
Either way, he apparently can go to the bank and see about making payments on the note. I'm sure taxes can be worked out too, if he would ever get his head out of his ass.
87 families in 2 hours! That's good organization! :D
My oldest said a lot of people were sick around her, too. It's way too early for so much sickness.
I just reconnected w/ a girl I worked w/ 16yrs ago at Scholastic Books (we would pack those big cases they send to schools). She found my youngest on FB and sent her a message. I lost a lot of people's numbers a long time ago when my old phone fried my SIM card, and it wasn't what today's smart phones are so everything was just gone. Crazy week of ups and downs.

Oooh yay for reconnections!! :) I'm....on the other end of the scholastic hahaha. We buy books and unpack them in the classroom - or the library gets the book fair and gets helpers do stock the shelves for the sale. We just had a scholastic book fair. It was fun. The kids love it. I want to know where some of these parents are getting their money tho!!! :P TWO of my kids brought in $30 each....and so did their brother. Another had $20, which I am sure means HIS brother and sister also did....AND then there was grandparents day during the book fair - so grandparents bought these kids MORE books!! Sheeeeesh. Don't get me wrong, I think its GREAT the parents/grandparents sent in so much money for BOOKS!!! But I'd like to be able to give each of MY kids $30 for a book fair!!! :D I usually gave them maybe $10 (one book, two if they found cheap ones)....except during B1G1, where I saved up and then spent more so we could get MORE books! :P In middle school they stopped being interested in the book fairs - although if they asked I did send some $. And sometimes I bought books for them at the elementary one where I work because they were series books we were collecting :)
ooh good that the house isn't sold off then. Hope your brother does something about keeping it!
I went and got gas for the lawn mower around 830-9am, and when I got back was going to wake Nathan to mow the lawn and then thought, why? I'll just do it myself. So I did.
I'm still trying to get motivated to do anything. Woke up w/ a bad headache from a kink in my neck that is extending down into my shoulder and shoulder blade. Took some ibuprofen but it was a rude awakening.
Scholastic is so overpriced. We could set books aside for the yearly open house sale and use our discount on top of the sale prices and that's when I would get all kinds of stuff. I got to walk around Clifford, who ended up being my boyfriend for a little while, lol, during that event. :P
I gotta mow, too. Not too much but I also have to use the weed eater and that's enough to make me pretty sore for a couple days so I'm just taking my time w/ what I need to do.
Shower first, tan, store, then I'll decide what I want to do as the day goes on.

I dunno. I always thought they were pretty decently priced ... I compared prices of books I really wanted (like Percy Jackson when I was buying them for my daughter - and myself haha) and the price was about the same at walmart for the hardback books. and if I bought at the book fair I supported the school a little.
Ugh for kinks and headaches and pains :( I need a shower :P Especially since I am all covered in grass from the mower throwing it up everywhere :P I really didn't think a riding mower would do that, but our grass is thick so we tie the cover thingy up out of the way and the grass gets thrown everywhere!! I need to crank up the pushmower (since Shane did it a few weekends ago, I should be able to... I hope). And get a few spots I can't get w/ the riding mower. And probably need to use the weedeater in a few spots too. Blahhhhh
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! yay!
Iz and I are heading to the orchard so I'll answer the one question haha.
OK so it really depends on what we get in. But normally there's one or two big full paper bags of dry goods, cans, etc. And then there's a big box full of various fresh produce, and then there's a bag or box full of cold stuff. So there's normally pork chops and hamburger, milk, cheese, sometimes there's other stuff. In November and December there's normally turkeys, which is incredible.
So.. it really depends how much food it is?
Out of 19 mage amulets, I got 3 tomes. 😠
Can't stand the mage.
Trying to muddle through some quests.
Does anyone need anything else from the TS? I don't plan on buying anything.
[edit] I threw some stuff in This shop for anyone that needs anything for an achievement or a main pet. I don't have a lot of expensive stuff but this is some things I got. If you're main pet has already read the book, I would prefer you not to ask for it. Other than that, all unpriced stuff is up for grabs. Just let me know. <3

I can always use another of the book ;) But if someone else wants something, help them first. I can buy another in 40min :P I bought one this morning.
I don't bother with the mage amulets because of that. Its frustrating. I just sell the amulets.
Kayano would love to eat the Let me know if there is anything I have in my shops you want in trade :) (I am not buying anything that expensive yet, but if you want to trade....) :D
"Stuff that isn't priced"... lol
You can have that, Kat. It's been sitting in my shop forever and I'm just not that inclined to feed my gourmand the most expensive foods. :P
I'm also not so inclined to read books that I can sell to any of my other pets that aren't my main fighters. I'd rather the sP for those.
Looking forward to the Free Shop! Pretty disappointed in the 18th anniversary of Subeta when they've had some pretty big things going on in the past for much lesser anniversaries. (sorry, sentence doesn't seem quite right)

Eerrrr hahahah I missed the unpriced part. But I did offer to trade :D I have stuff sitting too. Hoping it will sell around Christmas time, as people get gifts. I might do a sale board on the sale forum around then to get stuff gone.
I'm excited for the free shop too - although I have a feeling, I'm going to get a lot of inexpensive items. Meh. Well, better than nothing eh? And I'm sure I'll get a few good things or things I want/need too.
Yea, they haven't really done anything big/special so far. No floating items, no special goodies from quests, just a return of some old items and the few new things. (I bought what I wanted already).
I guess I am a little weird, wanting to read to all my pets. But its ok. I also acknowledge the fact that I won't be able to read ALL books to all of them, so the super pricey books generally only get read by Sheli (battle pet). And I got the gourmand acheivement a long time ago, well except now they uppped it to 8k and I'm pretty close to that too...but I'd already decided to keep feeding Kayano until I decided the food was too expensive to buy. But I do feed him random expensive stuff when I get it.
[edit] 9/18 9am Its FREE SHOP day!!!! Can't wait til they start. English teacher decided to do online only class from home this Wed so I won't have to go anywhere until Friday afternoon (other than work) so more time for me to get FREEEEEEE items Also, I just got back from walmart, but I do still have to go to ingles. I may choose to go later today or afterschool Monday or Tuesday - because I have things still, and really only need hamburger and gas (I use the ingles fuel points when I can - still have 70 points from the massive fuel deals last month!) [edit] 305pm Whoooo free shop open!! two items so far for me. Went ahead and went to Ingles. Got my meat and gas. Thought about it and decided I didn't want to have to go somewhere after school got out. Came home and found out the Biology teacher released next week (this weeks) stuff already, instead of waiting until tomorrow - so I watched the videos and the lectures....and printed off the powerpoints/vocab words/chapter summaries. Two chapters eek. There is also a lab I have to do, and an exam on the first 3 chapters-that opens Thursday. So I think I will try the assignment tomorrow, then do the lab, then it will be WED and English time (I've already done my post, waiting on others to make their posts - I do need to add my notes to the final exam compilation thingy), and then do the bio exam thursday and redo the assignment/lab as needed. What a week eh?
Hello!
Ah, Kat! You are such a hard worker!! I go back to uni next week. We were supposed to be in for induction today but that got canned because of the Queen's funeral. We are now having to watch a pre-recorded video.
The free shop has encouraged me to come on for a little bit: I accept 0 sP! has been put in your items.
How are you all?
[edit] has been put in your items. You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! - yay! :) Still dreaming of expensive free shop items! 😆 yay :)
Hello !!! 😊 thank you. I do try hard. A lot harder than I ever did in high school apparently, by looking at my HS transcript (I swear I got better grades than what is listed on that thing!!) Do you have to go to induction every semester/year? Or was it for a specific class? We only have orientation (I'm assuming thats similar) for the school once unless you want to go each year/semester....to show you around the school so you know where the classes are, the cafeteria, etc. Then its up to the teacher if they want to give an intro to the class during the first day. Of course, my classes except this one English have all been online only so I didn't do any orientation. Good thing I knew the teacher and asked HIM where his class was that I had to go to once a week ;) lol
Yesterday my best items were and I got a few other really good priced items (between 100k-900k) too. But those were my best.
Nice finds, Kat.
Hello Cazra!
I don't see anything wrong w/ wanting to read all the books to all your pets, lol. People have a lot of interesting things they chose to do to make the time here more engaging. A lot of times when I read these different things that others do, I'm left thinking "huh, I never would've thought about that".
Haven't had much luck from the FS. It was incredible to see how many users showed up for free items, though! There were over 700 users online last night! I had to chuckle. You know, the best thing about the quests giving out retired items was not only the items themselves but the fact that people were more inclined to do the quests which meant more shop sales. Now it's going to slow to a crawl again.
Looking forward to seeing what new items arrive for Keel. I don't do bad w/ the shop since I'm online all day anyway, but books get pretty hard to catch.
